Hey there married lady!!!!!! Looks like you all had an amazing honeymoon (and post some wedding pics if you get a chance, would love to see them). Aulani looks absolutely amazing. I've been to Oahu & Maui before and think I'm in the Justin camp that I prefer the island of Maui overall but Aulani is beyond perfection! Jason and I have 10 years coming up next year, so Hawaii is on the list of what we're considering. If we decide to take Casey then Aulani will likely win the day, but if is just us probably Maui or Napa or Disneyland or the multitude of other places we can't decide on. Can't wait to see how DL is
Hey lady!! I will absolutely post some wedding pics, I finally got around to going through the disc of them, haha!! They turned out great. Oooh, all of those places sound amazing! DL was worth tacking on, even if we could only spend a few days there!
Ohmygosh......I had read about the garlic knots, but that pic drove them up to my must-do list!!
Couple more food questions--I have my priorities straight too! LOL Could you get a Dole FLOAT at the plantation? Like in pineapple juice? And tell me a little more about the coconut malasadas...did you find the filling too sweet, or too much of it, or what? I'm intrigued but a little uncertain. Guess I should make sure to get plenty others in case I don't like that one
Thanks for sharing your honeymoon with us here!
The garlic knots were a lovely bonus. I seriously loved the pizza there. Definitely worth going!
I think I just found the taste to be off. The custard one had a thick custard inside. I ate that first, and I thought it went better with the dough. I'm also partial to custard-filled donuts, so maybe the texture was off for me. But I LOVE coconut, so I think maybe the pudding was just odd for me. Definitely try it for yourself, it's worth it! The malasadas are sooooo delicious, a variety is definitely worth it!
Oh man the north shore looks like foodie paradise! We will definitely go check that out! Don't skimp on the DL details. Especially the food
You guys look like you had an amazing time! I am trying to convince myself that the studio villa will be enough room for us and your food reviews make me think we wouldn't cook much in the 1 bedroom villa anyway. Did you think it was enough room? I'd have to borrow all my 2017 points to do a 1br and thinking it's not worth it but it seems like every day I change my mind!
I'm with Kari - let's see a wedding picture! You guys are so cute
I'll definitely include some wedding pics and DL details! If we had been there longer, say for a week, we probably would have cooked. At that point in our vacation, we had been away for a week, close to a week and a half, so we wouldn't have minded a home-cooked meal to save on some expenses and just to get away from restaurant food. I think the studio was plenty of room. How many people do you have traveling with you? We said if it were us and a few children in a few years, it would be do-able. Four adults would be tough. I have stayed at the AKL studios in Kidani and I would equate it to the same feel. We didn't cook in the room, but we did chips/sandwiches for lunch and then almost all breakfasts in the room and the kitchenette served us just fine! We kind of got into the routine of breakfast in the room, lunch in the room, and dinner somewhere nice. We felt like saving money on our first two meals allowed us to go out at night and not worry about what we were spending, or getting overstuffed from eating out all day.
Ah! I think we are going to go to many of the same places in May!
I have never had the shaved ice with condensed milk - What type of taste does it give? We have it advertised here in LA too, but I have never been adventurous enough to try it.
My husband and I LOVE pizza so we will definitely add this to a dinner night. Especially since we can walk to it.
The pizza was so good, it definitely hit the spot for a night where we had to travel early the next day and had been out and about all day. Worth it for sure, they deliver, too!
The shaved ice was just like any normal snow cone, but the condensed milk adds like a syrupy sweet consistency to it. It was worth trying, but I was jealous of Justin once mine had all mixed together. It wasn't too appetizing to me after a while.
Cannot wait to try Leonard's Malasadas!! They look soooo yummy. Pretty sure we'll be stopping there on our way to Aulani from the airport.
SO GOOD. I tried to get my husband to detour on the way from the airport but it was like 10 pm so it was a no go.... if we had gone earlier in our trip I know we would've gone back, hahaha!!!
