News Round Up 2016

So early I hate to say too much, and sometimes things grow on me, indeed great graphics though. I also see too many movies so kinda harsh judge.

I liked it and enjoyed it but can't say I loved it. I put it below Inside/Out (which I loved) and above The Good Dinosaur (which I thought was just OK.)

I don't think it's flowing but it has areas where it "bubbles" as if it were a spring.

Flowing was probably the wrong term. Circulating is perhaps more accurate. Technically that's a type of flowing but the water is going round and round rather than to a larger body of water.

Again I could be wrong, but usually these sorts of bodies of water circulate through filters and then either bubble or have fountains to aerate them.

It's funny you say that...the first time we went to DL my wife wasn't happy we got the overlay version of HM as she wanted to see the "real" thing! :lmao:

I have only been to DL once and it was during the overlay. I was glad I got to see it I guess, but I'm not a Nightmare Before Christmas fan and I would have much rather seen the actual ride to compare it with the MK version. I'm thinking of going again in late August/Early September to catch the 60th Anniversary stuff before it ends, which means I'd probably miss out on Haunted Mansion again. I don't like that it's either closed or a different experience basically 1/3 of the year.

This makes sense. I was picturing running streams and thought that Disney really outdid themselves.

The only thing is, I have been to many mini golf places where the water is constantly running but it still looks dirty. I just hope Disney makes a constant effort to keep it clean, which I'm sure they will.

You are not missing much. It's exactly the same ride in both coasts, except for the stairs room in Florida and the Hatbox Ghost in California. I get that many people still want to see the original attraction, though.

First look at Elliot from Pete's Dragon

I am interested in this movie but that looks like an oversized dog with wings.

I'm interested to see how (if) they justify the fur. Western dragons are traditionally reptilian in nature, and even eastern dragons, which are often depicted with beards or manes, still have fish-like scales on their torsos. They are essentially trying to create a new creature for this film for the sake of photorealism

Yeah that's why I said he looks like an oversized dog. I am really hopeful for this movie but I don't know.

Interesting.

Hard to gauge how Disney feels it went without knowing what their expectations were. However, if I had to speculate...assuming the guesstimates of 1,000 guests are accurate, Disney probably viewed it as a failure and were disappointed. For the guests who made the steep splurge, it was likely a great experience. If they continue to only get around 1,000 people for these, I can actually see them reducing the price (just a little bit) to boost the attandance and offsetting that by likely closing some of the attractions (such as Swiss Family Treehouse, Tomorrowland Speedway, the Carousel, etc.). As one of the twitter comments they referenced in the article...even literally walking on everything, you can't get to every attraction in 3 hours.

Considering they had to give away tickets for free I think it failed.

Falkor the Luck Dragon in Neverending Story was hairy so it's not completely unheard of.
