Off to Studios for the evening
We know we will not be able to get any Fast passes dinner at Sci Fi

Last night MK seemed more manageable then the night before without any passes hoping for the same later tonight! 1am closure. Sorry we will miss the 1-3 EMH on Saturday. That would be fun! No fast passes.

Maybe everyone got wise to rope drop and now the wait times are longer in the morning than they are in late afternoon?

In our experience the wait times in Future World, except for Soarin and TT, have always dropped later in the afternoon as the crowds gravitate more toward the World Showcase. That is one of the reasons why I don't worry about reports of occasional long lines for things like SE, Nemo, Living With the Land, and Figment. If you want to do those things, it isn't hard to find a time to do them when the lines are short, either in the first 2 hours the park is open or later in the afternoon.

I don't know if I'll chance canceling in order to obtain a 4th...cause my luck I won't get them back

Just got back to the hotel was at rope drop @ 7 am then closed the Gate at 1 pm with a short hotel break & 3 hours at HS.

Live update Easter week. Never got those 4 fast passes. Have to say been lucky. The crowds dear I say we're better tonight then yesterday & yesterday was better than Tuesday.

Last day on Friday. Hard to get extra fast passes but we have made it work.

I am sure someone posted this already but fyi I just called tech support and they said the offer was released two weeks ago thru april 2n3. Meaning you ha to be in the park no later than april 2nd to get a 4th fast pass. I am there next week and she said as of now you can't book. The choices at MK were lame though...IASW, Philermagic, Laugh Floor and Voyage Mermaid. So she said just try back to see if Disney extends it thru next week.

Does anyone think IASW, Philharmagic, Laugh Floor, or Mermaid are worth the hassle of trying for a 4th FP+? After seeing this, why would anyone run the risk of losing their 3 pre-booked FP's to get a 4th? IMO this is another move on Disney's part to placate guests who are dissatisfied with FP+. But offering a 4th FP for lame attractions is not going to do it. IMO these selections just emphasize the lack of attractions available for a 4th FP+.

If this test becomes permanent, does this mean people will be forced to select one of these lame attractions as a 4th and then use it or let it expire before they try for additional FP's via the kiosk? If so, it makes me feel like Disney regards their guests as prize chumps.

Remember, though, that crappy 4th option can be immediately changed to something else, I guess it depends on what you have and what FP+s are still available for the day.

If it were me, I'd probably wake up in the middle of the night to try to do it so I could get my 3 right back. I certainly wouldn't do it in the middle of the day when there are more people online making choices.

But if this becomes reality, I'll bet the ability to change the 4th will poof.

you don't rebook you just call the tech dept and they will add/swap once it is released

There's absolutely nothing that would cause anyone to believe that they would limit the ability to change your selections on the 4th fp+. It's a bit premature to begin complaining about the limitations that have not yet been set for an option that has not yet been given.

Yeah, I think they see that they have a bunch of capacity for "crummy" FPs left every day and now they are trying to distribute the crowds there instead of having people line up at the kiosks sooner. Which is part of what FP was built for, to manage the crowds.

The more people they can push into these attractions, the higher the wait times will go, and the more valuable the crummy FP becomes! Ah Disney logic! :)

That's how I feel about the whole situation. During the test, you were able to switch your 4th FP+ selection. But if this becomes the reality, how can they allow guests to switch their 4th to a more desirable selection? The reality is that there are not enough desirable attractions. The lame attractions that have FP+ are the ones that remain empty, so this is another attempt to herd the guests. Moooo!

Well, assuming that they let people book 4 at 60 days....If they leave the ability to switch the 4th, then it will add to the stampede at 60 days.

And as momtrk pointed out, if you can change the 4th, it will become another advantage for onsite versus offsite/locals as the better stuff gets gobbled up even earlier.

They could also be doing this test for a totally different reason so we'll see I guess.

I highly doubt the technical ability of Disney to be able to place a specific limitation on certain FP+s like that.

I actually don't think it was a test at all. I think they opened up the 4th fp+ to reduce crowds at the kiosks during a really busy time. I'm not at all sure they're even considering making this a permanent feature, but perhaps something they'll add on last minute should the need arise.

I'm all for it if they do. At 60 days, availability for everything outside of A&E is wide open and I think it's just not reasonable to believe they'll make the 4th one a fixed choice you have no say in. I'm all for tiers being removed as well. However, if I were an off site guest- I wouldn't be pushing for either of those options to become reality.

I see what you're saying, but they did it on the test, didn't they? Also, they have the teirs at other prks, so I think they could in fact limit the 4th FP to a limited set of attractions.

Wait...how did they do it on the test? I was able to freely change every "bonus" FP+ that was given to me this week.

ETA: Oh, I see what you're saying. Yeah, you won't want to switch if there's nothing good worth switching to, but I thought that you were saying that Disney itself would limit your ability to change it. So it would be a "hard" FP+...one that can't change. THAT'S what I don't see Disney having the technical capability to do. But the 4th being self-limited due to capacity issues...totally agree with you there!

That's exactly what they're doing.

A few weeks ago there wasn't much worthwhile at a few of the parks once we could try for our fourth. I don't see how that magical fourth FP+ would really help all that much. There just isn't much to go for in a park like Epcot.

However this could really hurt offsite visitors when they go to MK. There is a lot to do at MK and if onsite visitors start seeing this 4th FP+ pop up then that will just take that many more rides out of the 30 day pool. So yes, I hope that this doesn't become a regular feature.

Just like Paper FPs weren't going away ? Because they said nothing about that.

Just like pre-booking wouldn't be extended to offsite guests ? Because they said nothing about that.

Just like they wouldn't expand this to more than 3 FPs ? because they said nothing about that.

Just like everything else when people speculated about they were told, by the Pixie Dust Crew, "That will never happen, Disney wouldn't do that, they haven't said anything about that" etc etc.

It would be quite simple I'd imagine to "freeze" one bonus FP. Great way to spread the crowds out further, and maximize the capacity of under utilized rides at under utilized times.
