(UPD 8/29) Tales of the Tweedles & Other Spazzjazzerit PHM '15 Cupcake Adventures

I am mostly extroverted, but when in new situations, can be introverted. I was so nervous when I saw you ladies on the bus from AKL and then I didn't know what to say and so then I felt mean and awkward when I walked away with my family. I also saw you all at Via Napoli, but was intimidated to say hello so I just wormed out after dinner. I regret not saying hi or trying to talk more. I didn't think you ladies were snobby at all :). DH and DD are introverts so I have learned so much from them.

I felt the same way!!! I am so awkward in new situations! LOVED seeing you on the bus but then felt bad that I didn't engage with you more!

Funny how we all felt awkward, I especially felt that way because I wasn't on the board for so long with work and everything getting in the way. I guess we just have to all do another race :)

Jenn I was so excited when the Cupcakes told me that you meet up with them on the bus...I looked around for you at Via Napoli! I thought I might have spotted you but I was way too nervous to walk up and ask if you were AJollyHoliday. I wish you would have said hello...trust me these girls are great and just making you feel like you have been friends forever...although with some our antics at Via Napoli I might have wanted to pretend I had no idea who these ladies were...LOL. I just cant wait till Tweedle Bossy does that recap...

Actually, I have gotten snobby more than once too...... more like "I am just struggling to find the ability to speak freely and it's hard for me! " But people who say that about us (unfriendly or snobby) are usually extroverts and it's hard for them to understand because they don't have to deal with it.

I get snobby all the time...I tend to be very socially awkward until I feel comfortable with you and then well...ALL BETS ARE OFF! I don't put myself out there in real life with friends as I usually end up the one being hurt so it is just easier if I just avoid situations. My husband also things that I come across snobby...I just dont mean to but I always feel like I am being judged and never pass the test...

Well you know we are talking W&D16!!!! PM me Jenn...we moved the party over to facebook because we were killing our PTR with so much chatter!

I didn't even know you were at Via Napoli!! And it was nice that after those few awkward new meetings.. we all warmed up fast. So next time you just have to stick with us!! :)

Please, Tammie was the one doing the antics at Via Napoli!!! Hahahaha!!!

I agree that after a bit, we all felt like old friends!

Yup, same here Tammie. All of it! :)

I once had someone say I came off as SNOBBY when she was finishing my sentence as I was trying to explain how I was when meeting new people! SNOBBY! Yep, that's me. SnobbyTweedle. :headache:

There's no time for drama when you have cupcakes, booze, and running, right?!?! party:

THAT particular person is a well documented loon! :rolleyes1

Happy Birthday Karen!!!!

I'll buy you booze tomorrow. For today you get a DIS dance party!

:bday::yay::cake::jumping1::dancer::dance3:party::woohoo::bday:

I can't believe this is on page 8 already! i'm all caught up and can't wait to read about all the fun you ladies had!

Come to St. James and I will!

You never know, I have a wanderlust gene...I may just show up one day, ring Karen's doorbell and be like 'yo'.

I can't believe this is on page 8 already! i'm all caught up and can't wait to read about all the fun you ladies had!

We like to chat about a whole lot of nothing & I like to see if I can score free drinks off people I don't know...what can I say? :)

Boarding was easypeasy, I got in a seat pretty close to the front (so I could get off first, duh!) and we were off before I knew it! The flight was uneventful. I went to use my booze coupon that they had sent me and the friendly attendant told me that it wasn't any good there and to use it on another flight. :confused3 I went to give him an attitude about it b/c y'know, I NEEDED my screwdriver at 9am???...and he touched my arm and said "HONEY. I SAID, it's no GOOD here, use it on another flight!" and winked at me. I felt dumb at that point, seeing as he was going to give me a free drink apparently, so I apologized and promptly put on my Tweedle ears. :rotfl2:

No, I really did. I figured he would think I was just a raving lunatic at that point anyway, so it would work in my favor. My drink was VERY strong. I must have impressed him with my wit. :rolleyes1

I tried to take a selfie but it was blurry and I was far too self conscious already wearing the Tweedle ears, I wasn't about to start taking multiple selfies with my drink too! I have some self respect! SOME.

I may have literally LOL'd as I read this. And my 15 year old may have asked me what was so funny. I may have realized that my recap was much duller than the original or he has little appreciation for a screwdriver first thing in the morning. I'm going with the latter…I hope!

Only because you are my BFF and I love to make you laugh...

The old couple from Vichy next to me were probably properly horrified at my behavior! :rotfl2:

In my defense, they ordered bloody Marys...but they didn't have tweedle ears and were NOT taking selfies. :rolleyes1

This is pure awesomeness! I took a selfie with almost every drink I had that weekend…except my wine at the airport after being bumped from my flight because I was in no shape to be photographed…but I digress...

Happy Birthday, Karen!!!

I don't know how to quote yet, so I am mostly reading. I will figure it out!

Nicole - you are totally adorable, too!

I think it was hella brave of both of you to meet each other for the first time in person at the airport. Hella brave. I've done that. It's a brave, good thing. Even attempting this stuff is brave - travel, new people running, all of it. We are all awkward and unsure in those situations, no matter who we are, I think. But we do them and find our people.

Oh - HOPE! Hi! I loved reading your older TRs!

These pictures combined with the lapu lapu pictures are my favorite......... they make me smile everytime I see them!

Well they would have turned out PERFECT the first time if I had not been given 100 different directions by 20 different people...again I have no alcohol yet to blame on these either...

Quoting is actually easier on this new system than old one. You can eithe rhit the +Quote in the lower right hand corner to quote the entire message or just highlight the text you want and right click..that will give the 'quote' option too. T hen you go to the reply area and hit the "Apply Quotes" (or some wording like that) and viola- they appear. :)

I think with this group- we had all talked so long online that it really lessened the initial awkwardness phase because we all felt like we knew each other so well. I'm so, so, so happy I found the cupcake group & my tweedle! :goodvibes

Tammie, they WERE perfect just the way they are! Those reasons on why you are saying they are not perfect is what makes them perfect! And why I love them so much! :thumbsup2

I think that had a lot to do with it...there has been very little topics that have not been talked about...:scared1::rotfl2:

I told you once I am over that weird meeting stage all bets are off...I think that lasted between the group of us about 2 seconds in person!

I bust out laughing too and my husband thinks I have lost my mind and when I try to explain it to him he finds no humor...I guess it is because we now know each ones personality and can read voice now into the writing!

So does that mean Gretchen needs to be added to the official cocktail count that I am keeping over on my TR?
