Sorry ;(. I think the seller paying all main fees for 2016, with all 2016 points onward, plus the attractive price point, made the contract too easy of a target. The effective price is $58pp. That's the best price I've seen since beginning of the year. Stinks that it was taken bc it's such a good price!

Who/Where/What group from Disney actually makes the ROFR decisions? Can real estate companies contact them for an update on a particular contract ? I assume direct contact with the common man is not possible.

The broker can contact them, absolutely- but as you say, definitely not "the common man" .

I'm so very sorry . They won't really let anything through in the 60's these days unless there are extraneous circumstances like trusts, bankruptcy, etc. I hope the next one you find is the perfect one for you !

Addonitis struck again: I want to treat my parents to a 3BR at VB for their 50th wedding anniversary, so I decided to invest in VB points in order to get the 11-mo window:

Learned today that my contract passed ROFR... on Nov 30th!

3 week delay in response from broker was not critical since the contract cannot close until June 1st, 2016.

Here's the funny bit: I did not know that I could not touch these points for six months when I bidded on the contract!

It did say "cannot close before 6/1/2016" but I understood that as meaning "cannot close before January 6th, 2016". Where I live we write dates either as day/month/year or year/month/day, but never month/day/year...

Not a big issue since I have no short-term plan for these points (50th wedding anniversary to be celebrated either in 2017 or 2018...)

So here's the formal update, for the record:

Sort of a bummer about the dates, but at least it's locked and loaded for you and when it finally does close, it will be that much sooner until you can use those points !
