Healthy Living from the INSIDE OUT - May 2016 WISH Challenge

This week may be a bust on any progress. I don't know if it was my weekend(Friday Saturday no tracking and Sunday was quite a bit over) or overtraining but I'm still holding some water in muscles or whatnot or something because I was up a few pounds. I know last night I was up 5. I'll give it another go in the morning because I don't always seem to lose by Friday. It is frustrating. I do feel my clothes are fitting better and like some inches are gone around belly and even a little on arms. I feel a tad smaller. But in the wait game. I'm not too upset but it was going so smoothly for the first 3 weeks. I'll stay good this weekend. I just wondering on the "overtraining" because my legs just can't seem to keep the pace they were. I'll try to start with getting new walking shoes.

Happy Friday All!

Booked 4 days trail for a really nice gym near home, with swimming pool. I have access to gym in work but no swimming pool and I really miss swimming. It's little expensive, but I feel it will deliver benefit of having many options as classes, swimming or just gym but operating weekends too

Enjoy! I wish my gym had a pool and hot tub. There is a wide range of machines at mine and even classes you can take alone or with a small group via a screen. But no pool/hot tub. :( I have access to a pool across from my house but it gets busy full of roughhousing kids and hard to swim laps.

Let's have a bit of Friday Fun today! Rearrange the parks to your liking. Want to move a ride or a land from Florida to California? A snack from Tokyo that should show up at
Epcot? A long lost ride or friend that needs to be brought back? Snacks that need to be stripped of calories and pronounced the most healthy thing ever?

What would you do to construct your most perfect Disney park ever? Create the Bing Bong of Disney experiences!

Also, don't forget to check in sometime between now and Monday morning!

Oh okay well can I just move DL to Phoenix?? LOL It would be way to hellish to be open in the summer. I'm not even sure I would move anything. I finally had a dole whip on the weekend shared with my daughter and it wasn't at Disney. But it would be nice to strip them of calories I can tell now. HEHE My favorite food at WDW is the taco salad at MK. I don't know why either. My dad loves to get those.

What's up with the Jungle Book show? Are fastpasses out for that? I am hoping to catch it on this trip or next, but I can't seem to find any info! I didn't even think there was a date announced. But I have not been super on top of this either :-)

The night time Jungle Book show at AK opens Memorial Day weekend. We just got notification that Fastpasses and the show dining packages will open up tomorrow. It was announced on the Disney Blog. No time was listed for when they will open up tomorrow though. I will be checking periodically starting at midnight. Thankfully I don't work tomorrow.

Can I just move all of Disneyland closer to NY?
Okay. Serious answer:
- Bring back the old California Adventure entrance and theming
- Bring the Ratatouille ride from DLP to the France pavilion in World Showcase
- More characters everywhere!
That's all I have for right now ... but I'm also very big on keeping the parks different. I like that I get a different experience in CA than I do in FL. And I like that if I ever make it to any of the international parks, there will be many new things to experience.

---

Checking in with another disappointing progress report of 0%. I'm trying not to get too frustrated, but ... whatever.

get rid of food and wine
move thunder mountain, splash mountain near Amarica, move Everest and the trail near China or Japan, add country Afica with Kilimanjaro, move all the good photographers from HS

you know what. It will be too big. Lets leave them as they are!

Thank you! I just got the email from Disney Parks Blog about this! Nothing like last minute announcements haha! I guess I'll be checking starting at midnight too! :-)

I just heard the old soarin will be back starting tomorrow until the 16th. I have 14 days to finalize plans and so much coming out. Plus stressing about packing and end of the school year stuff. I might just lose my mind by the time vacation starts

If DL had its own version of WS I'd probably hop down there all the time. No other fantastical ideas are coming to me.

This has been a horrible food week for me. So bad, I even hadice cream. Clawing my way back though. At least I've kept my step count up close to 15,000 each day. I signed up for Blue Apron and the first delivery will be next Tuesday. This should help me to get back on track.

I've changed my mind about vacation again. The big trip to England just wasn't sitting right with me, so I kept poking around and found something that really seems to hit the spot, a week of hiking in Big Bend National Park (TX), put together by Road Scholars, so there's also an educational component. It'll be physically active and will take me back to Texas for a totally different experience.

I would really like Mickey's Toon Town to come back at WDW. I loved that place when I went when I was younger. I missed seeing it again by maybe a year. I also miss seeing the characters walking around. I understand why they needed to change it but I liked running around trying to find them as a kid.

I am selfish and want a whole makeover of Walt Disney Studio Paris. At first, the whole entrance area of DCA needs to be moved there to replace the current Studio 1 entrance. Then it kind of gets the best of DHS and DCA transferred there. The only things that may stay is Animagique (and its replacement show), Cinemagique and the Toon Studio Area (however this needs to be expanded and themed to the Roger Rabbit Toon Studios!) with Crush Coaster and Ratatouille. The Toy Story Playland also needs to get replaced with the one they are building at DHS. And Grizzly River Rapids could be rethemed to a ride about nature films to fit with the studio theme.

First of all, HAPPY WEEKEND! Phew.... I needed this!! While I do have a busy day on tap (groceries, lots of cleaning and food prep, parents arrive about 4pm to see DS off to prom, etc), it is the first weekend in a while where I will be HOME all weekend!

Second.... THANK YOU all so much for your ideas, insight, suggestions and links to help me HELP OTHERS get started on this journey and to get past the excuses. And thank you for making it an official QOTD.... it made me so happy!! I feel like I haven't contributed enough lately here, so that definitely made me feel better. I am cutting and pasting your ideas and suggestion onto my "WW cheat sheet" that I keep handy when I am talking with other members.... I love having something really HELPFUL and MEANINGFUL to offer and sometimes my own brain just doesn't provide enough!

Well... I gotta say... for me it is more about bringing back those PERFECT family moments.... those memories that bring an instant tear to my eyes. So I would need to combine the Main Street Electrical parade (a la 2004), the Disneyland Parade of Dreams from 2005, Soarin (the original from California), lots of character Meet and Greets from the now-gone Camp Minnie-Mickey at Animal Kingdom, the SUPER LOW crowds from our first family trip (that was just a few months post 9/11)..... oh my gosh the list could go on and on. But if we are talking calories.... I'd remove the calories from EVERYTHING in the Karamel Kuchen in Epcot, from the Mickey ice cream bars, and from all of the crispy rice treats in all of the parks.

As far as reporting goes..... the news isn't good, but I'm not sure I'm going to take all the blame. Yesterday's number was kind of yucky so I looked again today.... and my first weigh-in was perfectly in line with where I might expect to be (down just a touch from last week).... but when I stepped off and on (why oh why??) it showed me up 2 pounds from the first number! Then I used the bathroom and got on again and it showed yesterday's number.... so all over the place! So while I tend to believe yesterday's number (showed me up 1.5 from last week, but the weekend's eating wasn't great), I'm not sure my scale is working as it should. I've been through this before (scale number changing all over the place) and sometimes a new battery helps, but sometimes it just means it is time for a new scale. Sooo.... I'm reporting that I am up so no progress.... but hoping to shop for a new scale this week.

Okay.... the grocery market is opening at 8 am, so I'm heading out to shop! TTYL.............P

I haven't really checked in for the month yet and that is because I have seriously dropped the ball this month and am at 0%. Life just got in the way and I haven't been able to work my way through it in relation to my original goal of calorie intake and tracking - I haven't planned meals well and when I have - I haven't stuck to it. On the positive side I have still been moving and exercising but would like to be more consistent with it so I am persevering with that for the rest of the month. As said I was really proud of myself for having multiple walks a day whilst in Hervey Bay a gorgeous town about 2 1/2 hours drive further north along the Queensland Coast - I finally got the pics resized the first one is the view from our balcony (wine was enjoyed watching this lol) and the second is the sun starting to set on my afternoon walk.

Checking in - total loss of 1.4lbs for the week, which means a 4.4lb loss for the month and 44% progress towards my goal. This month has just been not great for weight loss. Each week, I've had a second meal out (week 1 was mothers day, week 2 was my husband's birthday, this week is my sister's birthday, and next week won't have an extra meal out, but I have book club and memorial day. I know I won't reach my goal, but I need to just keep plugging away . . .

Still feeling pretty good about my progress all things considered. I'm participating in family celebrations with no regrets - trying to make smarter choices, but still fully participate.

I am with 4Mickeys I was supposed to be here this month but I dropped the ball. It has been a crazy month.

Tomorrow is the bridal shower for my son and his fiance. I bought 4 sets of dishes (Because of the price I thought I was buying a service for 4 so I got one in blue and one in brown(their choice). So I bought 2 sets 1 in blue and 1 in brown. NO I was buying a place setting blue and a place setting in brown. Dh said you need to order another 2 so it doesn't look as cheap. I also made them 2 sets of pillow cases. One set is Star Wars and one set is Wizard of Oz. Then I will also give them a bride and groom t-shirt from Disney since that is where they are going on their honeymoon. I am also giving them the quilts squares for their wedding quilt. The guests will sign them instead of a guest book and then I will make it into a quilt.

On May 3rd the local theater awards for high schools in this county were announced. Then this past Wed night was the official ceremony for the awards. Picture the Tony awards with groups of high school students going crazy when their school is announced. We always say we are going to bring ear plugs. The group that I work with were nominated in 9 categories and costuming was one of them. No we did not win for costumes ( I wish we had we were going to wear some of the hats we had designed.) but one of the supporting actresses won and our set won. I wish it were more but it was a fun night any way.

My eating is great one day and terrible another. I am just right now trying to get through tomorrow. Then in 2 weeks I am headed to Wichita for the first of 3 weddings between now and Sept. From now to Sept I have 2 bridal showers, 3 weddings, and 2 retirement parties.

I will try to check in with everyone on Monday.

Have a happy and healthy weekend.

I also forgot that in the past 7 weeks dh has been going crazy helping his sisters not kill each other as one is in charge of the estate of his mother and the other one is buying the house. He has been in charge of meeting and getting all the market values, appraisals, and just keeping everyone calm while I have been sitting here listening to him rank and rave about these two. Last weekend they settled on a price very close to the appraisal and his out of state brother wanted to know why it was what is was so there was an hour long conversation. Then his out of state sister had a friend who told her that some of the repairs were not going to be that costly (As my dh said "She's got a guy who can do long distance estimates. Pretty impressive". This week we get a call from the sister buying the house asking dh to call sister in charge of the estate and calm down the sister in charge of the estate. She has a tendency to make up problems that could come up.

We are both hoping that it is all settled for now. Now dh is in charge of getting smoke detectors up to date in the house for the township.

I am happy to hear that everyone is still sticking with this thread, even though other things are kind taking off their path a little at the moment!

I had a good Saturday. Had a massive migraine the last two days and finally am back to feeling normal again. Very happy with myself that I did another Jillian Michael DVD workout today. I think this will be my main exercise over the next two weeks until my inserts will be ready and then hopefully my foot will get some relieve and can heal! I really try not to overdo the walking right now. Tomorrow is the big project of getting the bike out and start biking again. I used to bike so much, but then I kind of started to walk instead and figured out that I was burning more calories when I was walking and somehow got out of the biking. But, now it is a necessity, I just MUST GET STARTED!! So please, everyone, ask me tomorrow how my biking went!

One drawback of less walking currently is that I am burning far less calories. I rarely have hit 2000 kcal burned per day the last week. If I want to keep my 750 kcal deficit this means I would eat so little! So, I changed my setting to a 500 kcal deficit. The interesting thing is that even though this still means that many days I will be able to eat less than I used to, I am not more hungry! It seems that my body really can tell me how much food it needs to be fueled! I am moving less, but I am also less hungry. This was such a lightbulb moment for me today! Now I just need to work hard to keep this great communications channel that I have finally been able to open up with my own body and keep listening to what it is telling me!

Hi everyone... Today is the big day.... nearly two years ago I started this crazy journey to lose weight for this momentous occasion.

It's a day of many celebrations: being at goal weight for 6 months, achieving the "don't look fat in my grad photos" goal, and just enjoying the moment.

We're heading out for more celebrations - but I wanted to share a picture from today's festivities since I had talked about it so much!

(Hood is "drab" colored, it's around my neck. Sash is for Beta Gama Sigma for being in the top 20% of my graduating class!)
