The October 2015 Live Trip Reports!

That crock pot of taco soup looks really good Tiggerdad. You reckon you could put a scoop or two of that in a container and leave it at the Outpost for me???? Just put my name on it and tell the CM I'll pick it up when I check in on 11/4. Don't worry about the Fritos ill bring some with me. You might want to put an extra scoop in there.......don't want to leave out Mrs. JETS70. JK Hope you had a good turnout.

Sorry we did a quick stop and run. As you could see the little one wanted to go to the pool. However it was a fun for a the couple of minutes as you got to meet the brains behind the operation. We just got back form the pool and need to get our rest for another big day tomorrow. Catch up with you at a later point in time.

Good evening, folks. I'm sorry we couldn't make Taco night. We checked out yesterday morning and made our way home. I'll post pics, etc., later this week once I get caught up with work and kid stuff. In the meantime, here's my "Kickin' It" pic from Saturday morning, just after sunrise...

Well, it was certainly a good meet this evening. Sadly we did not take any pictures, but you guys know how some of us are about putting our faces on the Disboards. Seriously it was good to meet and talk. Seemed like everybody got along really well and all but one bowl of the soup was gone. Jets70, I'll see what the CMs at the Meadows say about freezing it for you.

It's always good to get to put a face with a name from the internet and to get to meet their families. It's funny how a single website and a passion for a place to stay can bring perfect strangers together. Especially considering I'm from Mississippi and everybody else is from the frozen tundra of the North.

Serenity88, always the thoughtful one, passed on her left over supplies as they get ready to pull out Tuesday. I promise the hamburger patties, hot dogs, and charcoal will not go to waste. If they are still left, I'll find another Diser to pass them on to.

The meeting has even gone so well that tonight we have an extra guest staying the night with us. "Little Medic" as I have started to call her is spending the night with us. She and my daughters seemed to hit it off very well so who knows, maybe this is the beginning of something even bigger for our future generations here at the Fort.

Well, gonna turn in. Heading to EPCOT tomorrow for the Food and Wine Festival. Will probably be there all day as we have missed Illuminations the last two visits to Disney and my girls are really wanting to see it again.

Benjyt,
I came by your site yesterday around noon and you were already gone. Hate I missed you. Glad you made it home safe and sound.

Tiggerdad- thank you so much for hosting our get together tonight! And thank you to your beautiful family as well, for sharing their time with us- we really enjoyed hanging out with all of you! Your taco soup was wonderful- even the kids liked it! And guess what- we weren't 10 feet away from your site when "the unspeaking one" started speaking again ! LOL LOL I'll run over tomorrow morning sometime with everything I can pass along- makes me happy that either you, or some fellow DIS'r down the road a little bit here can make use of it!

One thing I have learned while I've been starting to pack tonight is next time we are all only bringing ONE PAIR OF SHOES! Good grief- I think all of us have 3 pairs of shoes here- how ridiculous, especially considering we've all wore the exact same pair of shoes since Day 1 when we got here! What on earth were we thinking?? Live and learn, I guess....

I've got some Fort pictures I took yesterday while walking down to the marina- just love knowing I'll be able to look back at these and maybe it won't feel quite so cold and snowy a couple months from now when we are home....

Another place we went to eat yesterday was The Cracker Barrel- another awesome place we don't have in MN. The food was good, but the best part of the store was definitely looking around in the little shop! I have to see if they have an online shop once I get home... Here's a couple pictures of the inside- so many fun things to look at there!

Heading to bed for the night now- only one more night to go after tonight.... Tomorrow will be the Halloween party , and then Tuesday morning we'll be heading back home... If anyone is in need of hot dog roasting sticks, we have 4 that we need to rehome before we leave. They are the kind that have 2 prongs on the end and a wooden handle- we bought them when we got here from Walmart, and have only opened 2 of them. We have 4 total, so if anyone is interested just let me know! Otherwise Tiggerdad will try to rehome them for us while he is here....

We had breakfast at the trailer this morning! What gave the extra special ! was a special gift given to us while at the fort by Snowmedic. You will have my address for resupply LOL. Today is Typhoon Lagoon with cabana! Even though it feels like vacation has just begun, as any great vacation I do not look forward to the end.

Loving the pics and would really like some of the camp stores at the Fort if anyone is inclined to indulge me.

I'm home with a sick kid today and living vicariously through your reports and pics. Hoping Tiggerdad posts some epcot pics for me when he gets back from food and wine......

Tiggerdad- getting ready to make a run to your site to drop off stop. We'll put the fridge food in the fridge- there's also a bag of a bunch of glow toys for your girls, and whoever else might want some... Signing off for now, since we are disconnecting the Fort internet, and heading to the Halloween party! I'll post more once we get home! You guys all have an awesome time during your vacation- really hope we'll get to meet up with you again in 2 years. Or sooner if you decide to come to MN this winter! (especially you tiggerdad, since I could tell that deep down, you really are hoping to experience that again) :)

Serenity, I am chuckling At your comment to tiggerdad. Most certainly he should refresh his memory regarding our beautiful, refreshing, blustery, whiteout winters. Save travels, thank you for your trip reports. Still laughing, you pictures are so inviting.

Serenity, hope you all have a safe trip home. It was nice meeting you and talking with your boys at the hot tub.

Tiggerdad, everyone loved the taco soap, we even went out and bought everything so we could through it in the crockpot tomorrow morning before heading to the waterpark. I am glad that the evening went well. Hope you didn't fall asleep at the parks because of how late they stayed up playing. Now, on to some pic posting.

Here is today's breakfast, in case anyone is craving sticky buns

PS - you need to post that picture in the "Kickin' It" thread.

You top rail people think you are all that and a bag of Fritos.......... wait a minute......I'm still stuck on Tiggerdad's taco soup. For those of us that are vertically challenged, a top rail "kicken it" can only be attained when sitting on a bar stool.

And, now that I think about it, one technology item that absolutely drove me insane-the laundry room at our comfort station. There was only one washing machine and two dryers that accepted coins. All other machines needed credit cards. Okay, my first and second laundry days went fine, but then, the credit card machine stopped accepting my credit card. Irony….this is the Disney credit card. I called Chase and was told that the credit card machine was not sending any hits to the credit card company. A machine issue. BUT, other people with different credit cards had no issues. I called guest relations. Five times in three days. No one could help. The fifth time I asked to speak to a supervisor, who said that this is an issue with some credit cards at some machines. He told me that I could buy a laundry card, which I did. No more problems.

So, here is my take on the new washer and dryer system at the Fort. :laundy: There are 5 washers, including the one that takes quarters, to wash it is 2.50 a load, on each machine. You can use the credit card machine on the one that takes quarters also. There are 6 dryers, and two of them will take quarters, or credit cards. There is also a vending machine, still that has laundry supplies, 1.00 for detergent and another for 2 dryer sheets.

When we come to here we like to bring cash so we don't use our cc's. You can get laundry cards from the reception desk at the Outpost, 6.00 each. That covers 1 wash, 1 dry and 1 item out of the vending machine. We bought 4 cards, 24.00, and went to do laundry. DW loaded machines and put in detergent and went to use the cards, none of them worked. Had to use CC for laundry. Went back up to Outpost and got refund for the cards and was told someone would be out to check the card reader.

Great day at EPCOT and the F&W festival was really nice. It is sad, we ate our way through about 8-10 pavilions for the same price as the 4 of us eating at Trails End on arrival night...but the food today wasn't as good! No seriously, the event was great and we did get some pics but it's late and we have an early morning "surprise" trip to the BBB for the girls to get dressed up for the Halloween party tomorrow night. We gotta be there at 8:00 and the park doesn't open until 9:00. That means my only way of getting there is gonna hopefully be the Contemporary boat that I have been assured starts running at 6:45 in the morning.

Serenity88, good Heaven's! You guys sure had a good bit left over. I assure you it will not be wasted. We will either consume it or pass it along to another Diser who is here. OK folks, I need to know you are here and interested in some free supplies. I'll gladly deliver it. Serenity88 is a very kind woman with a great family. Even though one of them apparently had lockjaw last night at the get together.

Oh yeah, Serenity, where did you score those big pig sticking sticks at? When I bought mine at Wal Mart they didn't have any "spears" like that. I may hold onto those for wild hog hunting.

OK, I won't leave you without pics. I did some exploring yesterday and my goal was to walk some of the old railroad track. People have posted pics in the past and I refrained from asking where to look since that would take the adventure out of it. So I won't include the locations so as not to spoil your adventure either...
