Disney tour guide tells what is going to happen at studios

a friend recently to the 4 park tour ( cants remember the name ..cost $250) and when they toured studios, the guide told them they are doing huge expansion with star wars land and pixar land. will add 11 new rides. they are also adding 4 countries to world showcase, where i dont know.

I heard from a bus driver's former roommate's best friend in college that Disney is buying Universal Studios. True story. /sarcasm off.

I don't mean to sound so negative, but frontline cast members, even tour guides, are some of the least informed people out there, especially when it comes to huge changes. We all know there are big things coming for DHS, but they will find out at the same time the general public does.

Yes DHS is going to have work done. It will likely not be 11 new rides but will defintely add a good amount. No new countries are coming to WS. There is plenty of room for new countries but it ain't happening.

Well one plot is now gone with the frozen meet and greet building next to Norway.

These are all of the plots for expansion, some can hold full countries others not. The plot in between Mexico and Norway is now being used for the frozen meet and greet building.

This thread is IMHO appropriate for the category. Even though practically every statement about the future that every frontline CM makes is baloney. I don't blame the CMs for making up happy chatter to impress the public, and I don't blame disboarders for bringing some of the more interesting bits of chatter to the boards ... especially when they're new members.

The threads which amount to "What If ... Wouldn't That Be Cool" or "Any Rumors That My Favorite Movie/TV Show/Toy will get its own land in DHS" are however, a bit much.

I am sorry if my uncle doesn't work at Disney or if I am not a dis vet, but I found it interesting that it was said on the tour and they were discussing changes. I was excited that I could post a thread, and felt rumors was the appropriate forum. I apologize and will leave all post to the all knowing vets.

It's easy for the olds to forget what it was like to be a newb.

You would think that frontline CMs would have more information about what's going on than the public, but it's clear that they don't scan the interwebs every day for hot rumors, or make serious, probing inquiries to their boss and their boss's boss about "what's really going on." It would probably be a CLM (career limiting move) if a CM showed too much interest in obtaining unofficially released information from their inside channels, and especially if they were suspected of leaking it to the public while on the job. When they talk to guests while working they don't want to look like they're ignorant or they don't care what's going on, so they just repeat the simplest "happy talk" blather about Star Wars and Pixar.

Its fine you posted in the appropriate place but front line CMs including tour guides often don't know much more than what we do. DHS will be seeing changes and it will include pixar and star wars but thats really all that is certain at this point.

Since you heard it second-hand, is there any chance this story might not have gone down exactly as your friend said it would?

My father-in-law told me he saw that J.K. Rowling was putting out the next book in the Harry Potter series a few years ago. "Harry is coming back!"

Turns out he had just watched a news piece about "The Tales of Beedle the Bard".

I do find 11 rides hard to believe. Maybe some spinners and a couple of rides but 11? I'd love to be wrong.

I feel the same way about 4 new countries. Maybe they were counting Arendelle as one of the four? I think that I'll decide to believe this one and contemplate which countries. Spain, Australia and Brazil? Greece? Sweden or Denmark to touch on Scandinavia? Russia?

There is already a Star Wars store so unless they plan on having two then that wouldn't be an addition. A show or two? Maybe... A Star Wars show could be pretty silly if they're not careful but I LOVE the idea of a Pixar show.
