I Don't Want to Miss A Thing-
Lunch and Rock 'n' Rollercoaster
When we finished dropping in on Tower of Terror, it was sometime around 2 pm. Our Fast Passes for Rock ‘n’ Rollercoaster were scheduled for 2:20 to 3:20 and our group had not eaten since I treated everyone to breakfast around 8 that morning.
It was time for lunch.
I really don’t have any strong preferences for dining at Hollywood Studios, but since we were near Rosie’s All American Café and Catalina Eddie’s on Sunset Boulevard, and it was too hot to travel very far, that’s where we went.
I have never eaten at either of these places. Sci Fi is our family HS lunch spot, and I had my solo Starring Rolls meal on the prior class trip. Although I had made up a dining guide for the class, describing what the various counter service places offer, I apparently didn’t pay much attention to it. I was craving something light, like a salad, but I didn’t see one offered on the menu for Rosie’s where we all lined up.
Just burgers, chicken nuggets and a fried green tomato sandwich. I assumed that the menu at Catalina Eddie’s, right next door was the same.
It isn’t.
Catalina Eddie’s offers the Caesar salad I craved, along with pizza, including a Chicken Pesto Flatbread that sounds pretty good.
We found seating, at tables with sun umbrellas, amongst some of the other groups from our school. And I saw all sorts of interesting food on the plates of the people around us. I ate my burger. It was good, but I wanted a salad.
And a friend of mine must have E.S.P. because she came up to me and asked if I would like to have the salad that came with her meal. She had not touched it and was getting ready to leave.
Sure!
I forgot to take a picture, though.
After we had all finished our meals, it was time to visit Aerosmith.
*** FLASHBACK ***
If you have read my past trip reports, you have probably already heard this story, so feel free to skip ahead.
Aerosmith was the first concert I went to without an adult. When I was in 8th grade and my brother was in 7th, my dad drove us to Portland Maine and dropped us off at the Civic Center for the show. I can’t remember who the opening act was. Aerosmith came on stage, started their first song, and then Steven Tyler passed out.
Lights on. Concert over.
This was before people had cell phones, so we had no way to contact my dad to let him know we were ready to be picked up. Eventually, we met up with him at the appointed spot and went home.
The concert was rescheduled a few months later and the band completed the show without incident.

Back to the trip.
My friend L. still had the boys who didn’t want to ride, so I was free to Walk This Way.
Hmmm… Don’t know why I don’t have Ben’s picture from this ride. I have mine and one other from our group, but I’m missing the rest of our riders.
Oh, well, on to Star Tours, our final FP at the park.
I reminded our boys about the tips for being chosen as the rebel spy. Be in a big group. Face forward after you sit down. Don’t put on your 3-D glasses until you are asked to.
I took this picture to practice so I could get a good picture if one of our boys was picked.
I was pretty far in the back, so I knew I had to hold the camera really steady.
How did I do?
After Star Tours, we were at a crossroads. It was probably around 4. Our plan for the evening was to go to Magic Kingdom, which was open until 1 am and stay as long as we wanted to.
One chaperone volunteered to stay at Hollywood Studios with his son and anyone who wanted to remain there for the rest of the afternoon and then meet us at MK later. The rest of us headed back to All Star Movies for a rest/break/swim.
