New Disney Ships: News, Rumors, Speculation.....and Names!

So, I'm a little behind (again). Being a caregiver for your loved one is very consuming. Anyway, can anyone fill me in on atrium figures, back of ship figures and themes on the Treasure and any other news bites since September? Also, if you could take one ship, would it be the Wish or the Treasure? Thanks
Atrium statue is Aladdin and Jasmine on the magic carpet, aft characters are Peter Pan and Captain Hook.

I think the Treasure looks awesome! I also want to try out the Wish, but I like the theming of the Treasure more.

Star Wars bar on the wish is great also. But I feel like these new ships are lacking character. Much too much space for jewlery shops, almost no merchandise shops available. Also too much focus on concierge. In addition there are ridiculous design flaws, like that you have a dead end on the adults deck
I'd select the Treasure based on it having the Haunted Mansion Parlor!

Nice tribute to Rolly Crump who will have a Statue in the Haunted Mansion Parlor

Disney Treasure Ship’s Log

Rendering of a new sculpture of famed Disney Legend Rolly Crump coming to the Haunted Mansion Parlor on the Disney Treasure

A new sculpture, bound for the Haunted Mansion Parlor onboard the Disney Treasure, is being crafted at a dedicated Walt Disney Imagineering workshop at Walt Disney World Resort. Who inspired this mysterious bust? The sculpture was modeled in the image of the famed Disney Legend, Rolly Crump. And the fact that today is Rolly’s birthday makes this Ship’s Log reveal all the more special as the world remembers him and his many contributions to Disney Parks.

Image of famed Disney Legend, Rolly Crump

Nicknamed “Rolly” by Walt Disney himself, during the early days of the company and played an integral role in designing the original Haunted Mansion at Disneyland Resort. Six decades later, the Haunted Mansion Parlor will unlock the next chapter of the Haunted Mansion saga for Disney Cruise Line guests. The venue will be imbued with Crump’s unique brand of humor and is a proud continuation of his legacy, celebrating the weird and the fantastical.

Part of Rolly’s larger creative concept for a “Museum of the Weird” in the Haunted Mansion, his original vision included a character that appeared to be melting like a candle. It was only fitting for the design for Rolly’s memorial bust to stem from his own ideas, which led to the sculpted drips on the side of his face and a memorial plaque that reads, “BROTHER ROLAND- FOREVER REVERED FOR EMBRACING THE WEIRD.” When the Disney Treasure sets sail, Rolly Crump’s statue will have a place of honor within the Haunted Mansion Parlor.

And I thought the Star Wars bar was a total afterthought, much too small also. Better to visit Oga's Cantina in Hollywood Studios.

Theming is a bit of a disaster on the new ships IMO. No consistency... going from Disney princess atrium to a Star Wars bar just a few paces down... why? Why not keep consistent theming throughout? Or at least have some transitions that make sense? The Treasure has a similar issue. What does the Haunted Mansion have to do with "Treasure"? Trying to cram too many different types of IP in a small footprint when they should instead prioritize grouping related concepts together.

Yeah rather than several tiny themed bars... I'd rather they had joined up some of that space to offer a bigger venue. Personally I go to those for the live entertainment, which none of these small bars can really handle. They most often seemed to use The Bayou area on the Wish, but you end up with crowds blocks the passageway...

I know they have Luna for bigger events... but that's probable too large for what I'm looking for.

Think it's more of a marketing thing.... hype up Star Wars (or now HM) and all this tech that went into making it happen on the ship. But in reality it's a tiny space that on a ship full of different Theming that sometimes clashes. But it looks good in the ads...

I agree. The Treasure is using the adventure theme; however, DCL has a whole other ship called the Adventure . . .
But that new ship, the Adventure, isn't part of the same line of ships that Disney is building from scratch. So I don't know if it'll have an overall vibe like the Wish and the Treasure. It may even be extremely different than anything else DCL has done, like maybe having a casino, simply because of the different target audience.

True. But it's still a DCL ship. So it's odd that they're calling one of their ships the "Adventure" and then using "adventure" (including a theme song) for a completely different ship not called "Adventure." Seems if they wanted to use the adventure theme they could have still done so for the Treasure and given what is now being called Adventure a different name.

Different theming or no, it's still odd to me that DCL is highlighting a theme on one ship and using the same term as the name for another ship.

Exactly......

Does seem a little strange, but not unprecedented. Eight years after the Disney Dreams show debuted, they christened the Disney Dream, a ship where the show has never played.
