There's Always Too Much Sauce - A July 2022 TR *Updated 3/23

Amazing collection of medals!

The kids were so excited to see the medals when I came home. I think they wanted me to get them as much as I did.

You have some crazy busy time ahead and I just wanted to wish you the best of luck with it all

Thank you. :goodvibes It's been hectic, that's for sure.

You and your mum look so happy in your photos. I’m sure many memories were made and laughs were had

I think my mom had a good time. Near the end, she said, "How did this week fly by so fast?" So I took that as a sign that she had fun.

Glad you had such a fabulous trip! Nice you could get away for some fun and time with your Mom before the big move. Good luck with it all!

Now that I'm in the thick of the move, I'm so grateful I took this trip beforehand. I kind of want to plan a nice, relaxing vacation before every move from now on. And it was nice getting to spend time with my mom one on one. That's become a rarity since I had the kids.

Those medals are so cute! Congrats on all the races. I love your TRs! Best of luck with all the changes coming up!

I love the medals! I am so excited to move into a new house and decide where I want to hang them.
Thank you so much for reading!

It looks like you had great weather. The week prior (the week I was there) is was 70 and misty like rain almost all week. I am glad you had a great time with your mom.

How was your trip??? (Aside from the weather being drab.)

Your life is so busy right now. Good Luck!

Thanks! Alex and I are more than ready for this move to be over. Too many moving pieces!

So happy to hear you had such a great trip.

It was wonderful to meet you! I had a great time at the meetup.

Looks like you had an amazing trip with your mom! Can't wait to hear when you are headed back!!!

I am glad I got to spend so much time with my mom. Who knows when it'll happen again.

Alex and I are trying to figure out the logistics of this summer, but we are definitely going to be spending most of June at his mom's house. And his mom's house is only an hour, fifteen minutes from the parks.
Soooo....it'd be foolish to be that close and not take the kids on a few day trips.
Right? :rotfl:
I mean, Evie is 48 inches now. And Landon....good grief, he can ride pretty much anything now at 54 inches.

It would be a travesty to be so close and not go at least a few times!!! Absolutely you must go - I mean how could you not go really when you think about it! And if you use Disney math you’re actually saving money because you’re already the “right” side of the Atlantic and you don’t have hotel costs so, ye know, it’s “almost free” :rotfl:
Plus your kids with love you for it and them being the wee troopers they are deserve an amazing summer surprise after their big move if it is at all possible to pull it off ( no guilt if you can’t though).:goodvibes

I just found and binge read your whole trip report today! I absolutely love the way you write and have thoroughly enjoyed every second of your trip 🥰

Hello friends!:wave2: My oh my, it’s been a minute. Let me see if I even remember how to do this.

What a summer this has been. I just wanted to come on here and touch base with everyone. I took a 3 month long break from the boards and am dipping my toes back in the water. I’ve missed reading reports, seeing photos from Disney trips, and sharing in the excitement of upcoming trips.

During my break, my family moved from England to Texas. It was a long journey. A
very long journey. For the month of June, Alex and I took the kids to Maryland and to Central Florida. For July, the kids and I hung out with my family in Northwest Florida while Alex attended a school for work. Finally, in August, we roadtripped to Texas, where we moved into a new house, got our belongings back, and the kids started a new school.

The transition back to America has been….rocky. Turns out when your kids and yourself have lived overseas for seven years there’s a learning curve to getting back into American culture. Every day it’s getting a little easier, though, and I have no doubt the kids will be comfortable in this (new to them) country in no time.

During our summer break, my family got to experience lots of fun activities.

We went to the beach a lot:

We held a six foot long South American boa:

And, oh yeah, we went to the Orlando theme parks.

So much for not knowing when we would return.:rotfl:

Let’s just say, moving was hard for everyone. We’d really built a strong life in England, with great friends and a strong community, and so when that first month away hit, Alex and I realized we needed to give the kids a win.

Since we were in the area, anyways, Alex and I decided to be spontaneous and buy some park tickets.

We got the kids the 5 day Military Park Hoppers to Walt Disney World and the Universal Freedom Pass.

These park days were shorter and less planned than 2022’s (you know, the one this report is meant to be covering:rolleyes2) but I think the kids might have had more fun on these days.

Landon and Evelyn wanted to try and “conquer” the parks and boy, did we try.

Mountains were explored:

Carousels were ridden:

Wands were used:

Raptors were encountered:

And thrills were had:

My family’s life might have been turned completely upside down, with no home and no sense of place, but boy did we embrace the fun and have a memorable time.

I really hope I can buckle down and finish this 2022 trip report, so that I can get to this one.

Especially because Alex and I might have,

Maybe sort of,

Possibly,

Bought Annual Passes for ourselves when we were there.

::yes:::rotfl2:

Don’t let us make decisions during stressful times, friends.

We go nuts!

Can’t live in England anymore? Might as well become passholders again.:rotfl:

But really, it’s okay.

We’re going to need them next April, when both of us run the Springtime Surprise Challenge Weekend.

That’s right. I’m doing the races again. And I’m dragging the hubs along with me.

It didn’t take long for the Disney obsession to kick back in, did it?

Okay, my buddies, it was good catching up. If you have started a report this summer, please post the link so I can follow. I cannot wait to get back into reading. And I hope you all are doing well. I hope the end of summer has been kind to you. Hopefully, you are staying cooler than I am over here in Texas. (Seriously, I had no idea Texas could bake you like an oven. And when the wind is blowing, like a convection oven.) I hope fall brings good tidings, and I hope I see you around on the boards. I know not everyone has chosen to continue on here. I respect and understand that. Trust me, I asked myself if I would return, but for those who have, I am here to read and share in our mutual love to Disney and trip reports.

I have been thinking about your guys and was wondering how the move went. I glad to hear you had a great summer with lots of fun.

You can some of the heat our way. We might be the only place that has been cooler this summer. This week we have been in the 60's maybe peaking in at 70. However, I will send our rain else where. Last week we were on the boarder of getting getting 4-6 or 6-8 inches of rain in 48 hours.

Yep, in the Hill Country last week and while visiting on the porch when it was 104 degrees, the fan I had in my hand made it worse. Whah!? The air was so hot it was worse when it was moving. Unfathomable. I resorted to an ice cube in each hand.

Welcome Back!!

You really did have a fun Summer and you all more than deserved it.

Congrats on the APs, gives you more reasons to go back and hopefully we get more trip reports.

We finally cooled down our of the 100+ this week, I hope y'all have too.

I am definitely glad the move is finished. I did the math and we stayed at 10 different hotels/houses throughout the course of the move. I was never so happy to see my bed again! (The packers took it on Mya 31st and we got it delivered Aug 18th.)

Oh wow, that's a lot of rain! I do miss the rain. To go from wet England to a desert climate is strange. Now, does being in the 60s mean you'll have a really cold winter? Because I'm not sure the cost of a cool summer is worth a brutal winter. :rotfl:

Fans do not help at all! I'll have to remember the ice cube trick. Of course, I'm sure it melts not longer after you sit down.

I love having an Annual Pass again, and I do find myself trying to justify another trip.
"Might as well go while we still have tickets." :rotfl:

It's been such a hot summer everywhere! When I was in LA, I want to say it was 105.

Glad to see you're back and getting settled in your new home.

Thank you, it's been wonderful having all our stuff again. I still appreciate having my own bed even having gotten it back over a week ago. I keep telling myself I won't ever take it for granted. :rotfl:

You have to go at least 3 time to justify it, more if you can.

It has been brutal here. It's hasn't been this hot in years.

Where were you in Louisiana? I think the northern part of the state had it worse than we did.

We had Cane's for dinner tonight.

Wayhay glad to see you back 👋
You sure made the most of transitioning from England to Texas. Sounds like a lot of fun was had by all even if there were some tougher moments. Love the photos- no-one has ever looked happier than Evie when on her beloved carousel ❤️
Unfortunately our Irish summer has been true to form- I think it was a Wednesday and Thursday mid-June :rotfl: There’s a flippin reason it’s called the Emerald Isle. Looking forward to all the trips and races and Texan tales Alicia. Good to see you

Good to see an update from you! I randomly thought about you and your family recently. Wondered how the big move went. I don't think there was any way it wouldn't have been rocky especially for the kids. Hope things will get a little better every day now that it's behind you. Anxious to read more about your Disney adventures!

See, now you've made me rethink the whole annual pass thing. I'm going in April for a friend's wedding and will be there for a week. I talked myself OUT of an annual pass but...I mean...I AM close enough to drive now so maybe???? Darn you!!!

I hope your kids are adjusting to life back in the States and school in Texas. Hang in there mama. It gets better!

Welcome back and congrats on the move!

I’m around but not really doing reports much, but I’m also running the springtime surprise challenge!!
