OFFICIAL CHRISTMAS HOLIDAY SEASON & NEW YEAR'S 2017 THREAD

Hope this is not true!!! Was really looking forward to this as jungle cruise is one of my favourites!!! Any info?

Last year the parks blog announcement didn't mention the Jingle Cruise either. They updated the post later to include it. So it's possible they aren't doing it, but also possible they just left it out of the announcement again.

We are getting excited for our trip in early November, it should be fun since we will be there right when the Holiday festivities begin. Last year I loved World of Color - Season of Light, Believe in Holiday Magic, the Christmas Fantasy Parade, and so many other great things! I'll be traveling with several friends on this trip and I'm trying to decide if I can talk them into the Christmas Fantasy Parade... World of Color, Fireworks, and the Holiday rides shouldn't be hard... But you often have to wait an hour or more for good parade seats, and then the Parade is like 45 minutes... But the Snowmen and Gingerbread men make it so worth it. Ha ha.

If anyone needs a little help getting in the mood here is a highlight video from my trip last year to the Merriest Place on Earth!
(Keep in mind we were there for the Avengers 10K so there is a little of that in there too.)

Hello everyone! Just found this thread on accident. I am usually on the DCL thread and was just looking around. Cannot believe we have a thread for this - so happy! My family will be joining some of you over the holidays. Myself, DH, DS 14 and DD 7 will be at the parks from Dec.27 - Jan 1. (We have to get back to not miss school! :)) We are keeping this a surprise until Christmas morning as it is our main Christmas gift. We surprised the kids on Christmas morning a few years ago with a trip to WDW, leaving later on Christmas day. They were surprised two days later at WDW with a call from Mickey and Minnie telling them to have a great time on their Fantasy New Year's cruise. We have Hilton points, so are staying off property and not at a good neighbor resort for once since it will be free. Cannot wait for the beautiful ambience and all the crowd chaos! :) Can't wait to read the whole thread!

How fun to tell them on Christmas morning. We are leaving for our trip on Christmas Eve and I wanted to tell my kids (who are 2 DDs that are 16 and 14) on December 23, because they have their last final on December 22 and thought it would be a great way to end the semester. However, DH believes that 2 teenage girls will need a couple of weeks to plan out what they want to pack :rotfl:. So since my birthday is 2 weeks from Christmas, we will be revealing the big surprise then (they will be each getting their own presents with a Disney t-shirt that I am making, Christmas Minnie ears, and a Disney gift card). And like you, I am very excited to be apart of the crazy crowds that will happen that time of year :woohoo:.

I WANT THE GARLAND BACK UP ON MAIN STREET!!!! Can you hear me Disney? I miss it so much. I loved PTN, but the sacrifice of the Christmas Garland really bummed me out. I just can not wait to see the park all lit up for Christmas again this year! We are bringing our Cousins and God Daughter for her first Disney trip and I am so excited to share all the Christmas magic with them all!!!!!

Preach it!

I'm going to be ticked if there's no PTN but they don't bring back the garland!

I just realized our final park day in November will be the first day of holiday theme!!! I'm so excited!! We were there for Christmas in 2015, so we are excited to relive the magic even for just a day :)

I don't know if we count as a holiday trip, but if we do we will be there Nov 3-11 (park days tentatively Nov 4, 5, 7, 8, 10)

We'll be staying at Dolphin's Cove and are also coming from Alberta

When are you going?

My sister and I will be going on our annual Christmas trip! Dec 4-7, GCH.

How does this thread keep falling off the top page? Are we not all excited enough for the holidays in Disneyland?

What are you looking forward to the most? Candy canes? Holiday parade? Candle light processional?

For me, it is the music. In the parks, but especially in the lobby of the GCH. We just love to find a comfy seat and listen to the carolers with a hot beverage in hand.

What are you looking forward too?????????

EVERYTHING!!!!! The decorations, new parades, new fireworks, new WOC, new food. Can you tell it's my first Christmas visit. I am pretty sure we will have to buy tickets for extra days after we use up our 5 day hoppers:rolleyes1

I actually almost cried I was so happy when I realized our final day coincides with the first day of Christmas in the parks! I love everything about the holidays in the parks, I'm really hoping we can get a great image in front of the tree to use on our Christmas cards this year :)

I'm also excited for Christmas treats and characters in their holiday outfits! And all the decorations!

I've never been right at the beginning of the Christmas season in the parks before, does anyone know if the Santa Claus parade will start Nov 10 too? That would make me SO happy haha!

I talked to the family to make sure we had our priorities planned. The kids are looking forward to the candy canes and parades. Hubby just wants not to run around all crazy like he says we did last time (we didn't but to him it felt that way). I'm looking forward to the magic of it all - giant trees, cool decorations, riding rides, seeing Santa, and hopefully doing a Holiday Tour too! Hot chocolate at Jolly Holiday is probably the first thing I'm going to get after our MM!

I am SOOOO excited!!! Some of my favorite things are the IASW overlay - it's just stunning in there. Also the outside of IASW lights (ohhh emmm geee!). I'm looking forward to my kids seeing the Christmas parade for the first time. I am REALLY looking forward to our "day with a plaid"! If anyone has any photos, let's share some =)

I am looking forward to the food booths at the Festival of Holidays in DCA. We went at Halloween last year, so we missed the first year this was offered over the holidays. Looking at what they had last year it all looks soooooo good!

I can't wait to check this out too! I also can't wait for the Christmas parade and to see all the Christmas decorations.
