******Official 2017 Free Dining Plan Watch, Wait, and Dream

If we stayed in a Deluxe resort and did get the free dining, is there an option of downgrading and getting some money back from deluxe DDP to the regular DDP?

I keep browsing MDE, because Disney, and noticed this just now (see attached). We're waiting for MNSSHP dates and tickets to be released and they're still not available according to the website.

But the MVMCP says it's sold out! I check the Special Events page regularly and it has always said the same thing as MNSSHP - not available.

However, today it shows as sold out.

Something glitchy going on there as they never even released the tickets!

Also are ventures like california grill, citrocis included in the grand floridian tier free dining plan?

Many signature restaurants are included, but use 2 credits instead of one. When you make an ADR, one of the reservation confirmation pages tells you how many credits are required. I think if you click on "Some doing plans accepted" on the main restaurant page, it will tell you also.

For all of you who have the "modify" button and are hoping to use it to book Free Dining, have you actually tried clicking on it? When I do, it just loops back to my reservation page. It's just an endless loop and doesn't actually give me a spot to change anything. Don't want people logging on that morning to modify, only to find out they can't!

It seems there are many variations on what people have on their MDE page and what can and can't be done.

The images attached are what I have. I'm assuming (and please correct me if wrong) that I click "Change Reservation" to the right of my reservation (picture 1).
Then I go to the right of Vacation Offers and choose "Change" (picture 2) and the offers will come up. At the moment there are none for my September date, so it pops up saying there are none available (picture 3).

Is this how it looks for others? Is this where's I'd go to add FD to my reservation if it's avail for my date/room type?

So, if 4/17 is the rumored date, we have just under 3 weeks to go. What is the max number of pages for a thread?
it's supposed to be 250 but there is a thread on the Budget Board that is approaching 1300!

Last year we had FD part 1, 2, 3 before we moved to a new thread and a lot of us stayed over there until our trips. it was fun

Just wondering would you go to Disney if they did not offer free dining?

keep in mind that there are other options if you don't get FD. Last year our November dates were locked in due to work obligations. I was pretty confident based on the last 3-4 years of FD dates that our check in date would qualify. well it didn't. When I knew we weren't getting FD I booked an exclusive deal with a TA that made our trip possible. was it as good as FD, no but what well within our budget and much cheaper than Disney would have charged us.

Well, there's always hope, but last year's Nov dates didn't start until the next Tues. If your dates are flexible, that's going to be your best bet of things to plan/think about. Other than that, you need to have back up resorts and rooms and what moving to them will cost you.
Thanks! I can't imagine it costing more than I already spent but yes we can be somewhat flexible with moving. I hope not too because we've never stayed at WL but either way it's Disney...I'll be happy in a tent!

Oh, is that $37 per person/per night?

Yes, $37.33 per adult, per night and just under $14 for the kids

Is there an option on MDE to upgrade to the regular DP online right then or would I have to eventually call and upgrade that? Does it need to be done when the FD is added?

I don't think you can upgrade with the modify, but you can wait and call in to upgrade. Just needs to be done 72 hrs before your arrival, and if you're within 45 days, paid in full when you call.

I have a room booked already and this is my first time experiencing adding FD. Am I correct with my thinking of how this all works...when FD is released do I just modify to add FD and nothing else changes? My room rate doesn't change right?

If you have a modify option, you should be able to do it online. Your room rate won't change as long as you currently are paying full rack rate for that room. If you have any discount, you will not be able to keep that discount. If you already have tickets attached to your reservation, they will have to be the type ticket that is required, so if you don't have park hopper, you will have to add park hopper. If you made your reservation before the ticket price increase in February, your ticket price will go up as well.
