***1st Week of December Thread ADR Plans, Park Hours, and dealing with Pop Warner***

We will be going to Disney the second week of December. I have an 8 AM reservation for my daughter at MK BBB. What time does the park usually open on a party day? I booked this one to get in the park early but now I am scared that the park will open at 8 and we will lose the best time.
Depends on EMH, I can see that Friday is a party day and MK had AM EMH, too.

@Candycane83 She actually did say there is no standing at the rails, thank goodness for that at least! But not sure I like the idea of getting there extra-early for a maybe good table? Those odds aren't so great. :worried: The reserved spot for the parade is appealing for us. Having actual tables/chairs and yummy desserts is appealing. Possibly a partially obstructed view? Ugh, no! This does nothing for my indecisiveness. lol

I think it's good that there is no standing at railing if you're seated by the railing but if you're seated at a table with a partially obstructed view than you probably would like to stand at the railing. Lol! I think the odds are not too good... I'm leaning more in cancelling mine now when just a few days ago I was leaning the other way! Haha

I saw this on another thread, and I thought it was a neat question! Does anyone know of a particular ride that has a really cool queue to be in while waiting ? I kinda remember splash mountain or pirates having some stuff? Maybe not. And is Peter Pan just a bunch of rows?

I remember the Dumbo ride having a fun playground thing. That's a great thing for little kids to do while waiting. :-)

It will be a Sunday with no EMH. Right now it is saying 9 AM open. I just have heard they normally change park hours in December to 8.
Yes I heard that too but I think we won't really know until much closer. I heard they can change hours all the way up to the day before...

At first I was picturing people standing at the railing and possibly obstructing the view further for those who remained seated...but that's a great point! Of course if you have an obstructed view, naturally you'd want to improve it by standing. I'll need to sleep on this one I think. :-)

Gosh.... I put down my phone for a few hours and the thread goes nuts!! I love it!!

SDFP.... I ordered 3 yellow bands and created phantoms on MDE. Everyone will get the same FP+ on the primary and the yellow band. My understanding is that once you use your 3 FPs, either the pre-booked or the SDFP you can get more.... just one at a time. You can only book 3 at once the first time.

Dessert party!!! .... from recent reports poeple are lining up an hour early or so to get a good table . Once you are seated that is your table for the evening. The first row of tables are right against the railings. The 'best' tables are to the left. Now... all this could be wrong. It's just the info I've gathered from the recent reports.

We are booked for the regular party on 11/30. My plan is for me to line up early and let the kids go to Buzz or Space mountain.

I'm in a total conundrum about which FP+ to book at our 60 day mark. I think for HS -- Toy Story, Star Tours and Tower of Terror. That is as far as I've gotten with FP+...

@JamieOak I hope they figure out what is going on with you and that you get relief. My H had unexplained pain for months before he had gallbladder surgery and then a month later hernia surgery (yeah that was this year-uggh), so I feel your pain and hope it goes away quickly.

Geez I get taken in to surgery and come back to lots of new pages. I don't have it in me to read them all right now because I have a migraine. But the good news is the migraine is the only pain I have besides the discomforts associated with the surgery. No more appendix! The surgeon noted that he saw fluid that was likely a cyst on my ovary that burst. That very well may have been the culprit if not the appendix. Unfortunately it sounds like those ovarian cysts come back, so I'm sure some follow up will be required with my OBGYN. I just started eating food. If it wasn't for this darn migraine, I'd be doing pretty good.

Thanks so much for all the well wishes! My husband and my mother just left so now it's just me, my laptop, and my graham crackers.

Sometime earlier today when I was feeling good, I settled on wanting a lunch at SciFi on 11/30 and a breakfast at Tusker House on 12/2. I set up a reservation finder for the Tusker house one and Ill see what we can get. It doesn't have to be PPO or anything.

So glad to hear your surgery went well! I've had friends with ovarian cysts before, and they say that pain is awful, so I can only imagine, not even counting the appendix!

I have a question about December park hours (and apologies if you all already talked about this but since I joined the group recently I haven't had a chance to read through the tons of pages of old messages!). I've read that Disney often will change December hours to open early at 8 to everyone. If they do that do they do Extra Magic hours earlier? I don't know it these are rumors or if any of you that has done December trips in the past can verify? If not a rumor, how likely are we to get extra hours?

Glad the surgery went well! Hopefully the cyst does not come back. A co worker of mine just told me her daughter has one that is about 10cm! and she is pregnant so they had to rush her to ER when she started feeling pain. Yikes!

I don't think anyone knows yet. I hope first week of December is too early to open park early at 8:00 and they keep the EMM on Sunday's and Tuesdays.

If I had my way....
:-)

Busy, busy day around here! I had the greatest idea to start our Disney corner in our den to place things that we've gotten so far for the trip. Well, as luck would have it, our suitcases are completely RUINED. DH has stored a Christmas box right above them and apparently an old snow globe was cracked and the fluid from it leaked into the suitcases and created this NASTY mold.:sick::sick: So I quickly zipped them up and got rid of them asap. Between the suitcases and some decorations, the whole box was thrown away.

So, here we are with no suitcases. I really do not want to go out and spend a fortune on one.

Help this stressed mama out!

Go hit up some consignment stores for suitcases or duffle bags. They won't be pretty, but they'll be cheap.

Were any of you ladies looking for an Ohana dinner on 12/4? I snagged one when I saw one thinking of you all, but then I realized that the Ohana dinner I'd read about here was the one @Lisa F was talking about already having and not needing one!

I'm glad you made it through surgery alright! I also have had ovarian cysts...they're no fun at all. Hopefully you'll be back on your feet in no time. :)

Just booked our flights! :yay:
We bit the bullet and chose Southwest, which leaves from the airport a mile from my house...best part is we got direct flights, so no worrying about stopping in stinky Newark. I'll have to leave about an hour early from work (I work from home), but my boss had already told me it was fine. AND instead of getting there at 11:30pm like we originally thought, now we'll get into MCO around 7:55pm....so we'll save a bit of cash by taking ME direct to the resort.
I was price matching between SW or doing a United/Delta combo, and with the bag fees SW ended up being cheaper. It wasn't the cheapest option, but DH is happy with the non-stop, even if it was a little more than we planned on spending. Also, the departure flight leaves at 8pm, so now we'll have a whole extra day in Disney to do what we want. :)
I also purchased the Early Bird Check-in, which I'm guessing is helpful to get in the highest possible boarding group. I haven't flown SW since 2007 and so much has changed since then. I'm so happy to have it out of the way!
