For those wondering if they will track your returns, here is the section from the BB eBay store:

"To return your item to a local Best Buy Store, follow these instructions:

  • Include all original packing materials, manuals and accessories. (If you don't have all the original packaging and accessories, that's okay, too. We can process a return with a small deduction on your refund for what's missing.)
  • Bring your receipt or packing slip and a valid photo ID.
Why We Need Your ID
Like many retailers, we use a third party to help prevent losses by detecting improper returns, and, except where prohibited, require a valid ID for all store returns. We accept U.S., Canadian, and Mexican Driver's Licenses; U.S. State ID; Canadian Province ID; MatrÃcula Consular; U.S. Military ID; Passport; U.S. Laser Visa; and U.S. Permanent Resident Card. Our third-party processor may record your ID information when you return an item, and keep it in a secure database to help us validate future returns. If we caution you or deny your return, you may request a copy of your Return Activity Report by calling 1-800-652-2331."

When I returned my $60 item from the ebay BB store yesterday, they did not ask for an ID. Plus I don't think one or two returns will be an issue for BB. I think it is patterned abuse that they are looking for.

Unfortunately there are some people who buy things at retailers, switch them out with fake/bootleg items, and try to return them to the store since you can return open items. I was unfortunate to purchase a fake macbook charger that was an "open box" item at my local best buy store early this year :(

I'm sure you'll be fine as long you don't break any laws returning fake items.

Also wanted to add, that both BB purchases have earned ebucks, not sure if they will take those back or not.

I returned something I earned ebucks on in the past and ebay took them away. It was even in the next quarter and I had already spent them so it made my ebucks balance go negative.....

More info from the Best Buy exchange:

I went ahead and looked at my Best Buy account online as I know all your purchases pull up under "orders" and "purchased items." The pair of headphones that I purchased and exchanged aren't showing up at all under both categories. When I picked up/exchanged the item, the CS rep seemed to just look at my ID and cross reference it with the receipt for the purchase making sure I was the purchaser. She wasn't recording any of my info. I can take a look at my receipt when I get home if I can find it.

Since the Best Buy return policy is so relaxed, there are people who do the sketchiest things. I remember when I worked there a while back (I worked as a cashier in the front, so I have no info on returns) there was this guy who returned a TV with blood all over it... :crazy2: it looked like was splattered all over the TV. It was so disgusting.

I've used Cardency a few times recently and never received a tracking number. They ship standard first class mail. My orders have taken just over a week to arrive which is silly because they are located in Portland about 10 miles from me. I think they take a long time to prepare the order for shipping.
Thanks, they will probably be in my mailbox when I get home.

I need some advice from the GS master :worship: (@JKalai )

I don't use GS for my churning so I haven't stayed up on the most recent. My DH decided he is going to sell his PS4. Walmart will give him 200$ for it and I think GS will give about the same. Are the trade in credits viewed the same as a GS gift card? Could I use that $200 and convert it to Ebay?

GS will give you the trade-in credit on a physical "plastic" card. I think the only difference is the trade-in card has the word "TradeCredit" on it, whereas the GC has the word "GIFTCARD" on it. I don't know if GS's POS system is coded to recognize any difference between the two, but functionally I've always used trade-in credit and gift card credit the same. If you and your husband decide to go through GS, before you take the trade-in credit you should confirm that you can use it to buy an eBay GC AND BUY IT RIGHT THEN AND THERE. My local GSs stopped accepting GC-for-eBay, even though they did as recently as two weeks ago. As always, YMMV.

P.S. If Walmart will give you $200 (I'm assuming in credit), could you use that at Sam's Club (if you have a membership) to buy Disney GCs there?

I have had no problems with Cardency but I do think they seem to take forever to ship. My cards take at least a week to arrive but usually just over a week.
They take a while, but they are reliable. And easy to use!

In fact, after my visit to Gamestop today, I will continue to use them for the near future.
I bought a Gamestop card about 2 weeks ago, and finally got the nerve to go use it. I went into the store, and looked lost. The salesman was very nice, as I explained that my mother had sent me this giftcard to buy a game for my son, but since he is 2, I don't see anything that he is ready for yet. And we talked about what was available, and the inappropriateness of almost everything for a toddler. And then he suggested I get an iTunes gift card. I looked at the gift card rack, and said hesitantly, would it be Ok to exchange the gift card I have for an ebay card, and he said yes, a Gamestop gc is good for anything in the store. BINGO!

Now I will have to use a different story if I go back to this store, even if someone else is behind the counter, (workers talk), but I found that there are at least 2 other stores near me, so I will see what their policies are. And since I used my ebay card to get another GS card after I got home, I have about a week to come up with a new story. Actually longer, because I am guessing that the promotions won't start for another 3-4 weeks.

I did not see any Disney cards at this store, but it was a small one.

I've never seen a Disney card at any Gamestop I've been to.

Also, be prepared to run into the same employee at another Gamestop. I (and one or two others on this thread) have run into the same employee at 2 different locations. I thought I was being clever by hitting a different location, but just bought the same exact eBay GC with a GameStop GC that I did at the other store.

You don't need to make up a story. When I was there the other day trying to buy Amazon cards, the clerk suggested I go to Target to get them, since theirs were not able to be sold anymore. I just showed him the GS GCs and said, but I have these I wanted to use. He just asked if there was a different card in GS that I could use (I purchased Fandango). No big deal...

Just FYI....My DH went to GS today to buy a $400 Ebay GC with our GS cards. He handed the cashier the loadable Ebay card and asked for $400. He proceeded to pull out the GS cards to scan and was told to hold on. Policy changed and they can no longer accept GCs for Ebay cards. Only cash or credit cards.

He then tried another store close to us and they didn't have any ebay in stock. The sales person told him they have never carried them.

This is new for both of these stores. The first one we churned through just a couple of weeks ago with no problems. Same with the second store, so I know they used to carry ebay.

I'm hoping I can convert the cards at another store. I think it really is time for me to cash out and get out of the game at least for awhile. The risk is getting to me along with all the face to face churns. So different than ordering target online.

Just thought I would share our experience. It really is YMMV with GS.
