Disney Gift Card Deals

I know I'm late to the party...but may I ask what the Ebay deal was on gift cards? I'm planning last minute for a January trip (Christmas gift to my kids) I'm doing an extreme budget trip - I have enough air miles to cover the airfare, I'm staying at my aunts timeshare that she cant use, but for my family of 7, tickets will still be $2000. Makes me nuts that just tickets alone are more than what I spend on a beach house in the summer. So I'm looking for the best deal on gift cards to buy tickets with. I know about the 5% red card discount, does the Target pharmacy rewards extra 5% still work on entertainment cards? Any money I can save on tickets will help!

Your best bet may be to try next week's in store deal at Target ($5 Target gift card with purchase of two $50 Disney gift cards--pay with your red card). Pharmacy discount won't work. Not enough time for an eBay deal (they had a deal last Monday--$200 Target gift card for $185).

For those that are good at figuring this out....take raise, eBay, etc out of the equation. Is the Target deal next week better than 4x fuel points at Kroger that's going on for the Disney cards?

Not for me. I get about 14% off at Kroger then another 5% from Target. It depends on which rewards card you use (I get 6% back) and how big your gas tank is (mine is 20 gallons).

OT ... but holy crap! Target.com is down for the count! I was going to buy a TV and a Roku stick and the website is currently toast.

There are so many variables involved. I don't live near a Kroger, so unfortunately, I can only get in on it if I am ever in the area of one.

Also, I have a small gas tank, around 9-10 gallons, so even if it is completely depleted, the most I would be able to save would be about $10.

Now, if you are able to use the deal on multiple vehicles and take full advantage of the 35 gallon limit...it's absolutely a great deal. If you buy Target cards, and turn them for Disney cards, it is even better.

We have a sequoia (26 gallon tank) and an avalon (18 gallon tank). I have a disney visa I use so get 2% back (not as good as some but it's what we use). Kroger is less than 1 mile from my house. Does this help in figuring it out? I have tried and it's hurting my brain!

By spending $250 on gift cards, you get $1/gallon off gas, up to 35 gallons. In theory, that's a 14% rebate.

If you can use 35 gallons/ fill up, that's 14%. Add 2% from your credit card and you are at 16%. Then use a red card and you are over 20%. Just make sure you do end up with too many fuel points.

Definitely worth it for you then. Just make sure you go to Kroger with an empty tank!

Here is some quick math.

Target- $100 - $5 by using your RedCard. $5 gift card back (which could be used for future GCs if you choose)= Net of $90 (10%)

Kroger- this is a little trickier, because you are borrowing from Peter to pay Paul so to speak. You are saving a lot on gas, not as much on Disney, but...out of pocket you will be doing a lot better. $250- $35 in gas. = $215. (14%) If you buy Target cards, you can flip them to buy Disney cards, getting the Red Card discount of 5% which would use $237.50 of your $250 gift card. So, your net would be $202.50 (19%)

It looks like a lot of the email delivery giftcards including Southwest are part of the buy $50 worth of giftcards and get a $5 target gift card back deal. I don't know if the same ones are on sale in store. If you don't need a physical card this might work.

One of my two Amex cards had a $15 off $35 purchase at Walmart.com. It does not exclude gift cards. I got a $50 vanilla mastercard for $38.94.

I take fuel cans to get the full 35 gallons, and my hubbie fills his car at home with the fuel cans. Also, another "trick" - if you have a credit card that gives a good grocery store rebate - like Amex Blue Everyday (3%) or Amex Blue Preferred (6%) . . . use that card to buy a Kroger gift card in store, and then use that to purchase the gas. I've met my $6K grocery limit on the Preferred card, so now I'm using the Everyday card for groceries/gas until year end.

Longtime lurker of this thread here and thought I'd post as I haven't seen anyone mention this yet. Raise sent me a promo code (because it's Cyber Monday) for $10 off an order of $100 or more. Well, Target cards are out of stock as usual, but there were a bunch of electronic Disney gift cards for $100. I grabbed one, used the code, paid $90, and put it right in my Disney Vacation Account and things seem to be good. Not a huge discount, but 10% these days isn't terrible. Code was one-time usage only. I'm guessing all Raise members got the email.

Thanks for posting this! Both of our cards had this offer, so I placed 2 separate orders.

ETA: Well, after not getting a confirmation email from Walmart, I checked my orders only to learn that they had been canceled by Walmart. No email letting me know that they were canceled or why. Just canceled without explanation.. I guess that my money is not good there.
