Wow - that mirror is really creepy! But the other one is really fun - love it! Interesting to see the differences between CL at Disney resorts and HRH. I think our boys would love those afternoon snack offerings - nothing like a "free" package of chips! We're at the stage where creative, homemade snacks and treats are just for home - otherwise, packaged stuff is a big hit. Like the breakfast mimosa - Disney should pick up on that one!
Is Mummy like DL's Indiana Jones? Kind of looks like it from the description/photos. Our youngest really wants to get back to Universal. But first, we probably need a day at Legoland. His brothers did Legoland in California before he was born, and now we're going to take one for the team and go back for him. I have a feeling Disney and Universal hotels are just a wee bit better than the new Legoland Hotel . . .
Too funny about the reaction to CL. "Cool" without exclamation point made me laugh. While our teens are enthusiastic for their age, not much gets a big "woo hoo!" Except, of course, from our youngest. So that's one of the reasons I love taking him to Disney - getting those last few "woo hoos!" with some good, solid jumps up and down before it all turns into, "That's really cool. I really like that."

I have to say, a few bags of Doritos made it back to the room with us. The lemonade was really good! I did try a breakfast mimosa- for research purposes, of course!!!
Yes, the scenes in Mummy are a lot like the ones in Indiana Jones. The ride is more like a rollercoaster, though. With lots of (jerky) starts and stops.
I have seen some pictures of the new hotel. Fun. But not sure how comfy. Have you ever stepped on a

We got about all of the excitement from two teen boys that we should have expected.
Holy cow! I haven't done Universal in so long that I don't remember if we had any problem people in front of us, but ... that's really insane.
It was awful getting into the parks. Every.Single.Time!

You are right! We were there for actual Mardi Gras (Tues Feb 17). I just looked at the schedule and there were no activities that night. Just the weekends. But we weren't at the parks that night anyway. 
My brother and niece are going to Universal this weekend. B-52s are performing on Sunday. Can you say "Jealous?"
I get the impression Disney is a lot more picture-friendly than Universal. Add the "no bags" thing ... it makes Disney seem a lot more guest-friendly sometimes.
Definitely on both counts. I can deal with the no bags thing, but I really hate the photo policy. My family loves it, though!

So, I almost wrote about that. This is the only picture we have like this. We got our Photoconnect card at Mummy, but the clerk there didn't know how to do it, so a manager had to help, and she set up this picture for us.

Sad that they wouldn't seat you at Lombard's ... but good to know that you had a plan B. I'm guessing someone might have rebelled if there was no dinner ...
At least 2 of us would have had issues with no dinner (Ben and me) and Nate didn't even have a sandwich on the plane, so he was pretty hungry. Plan B was actually my first choice for a meal that day anyway, so I was happy!

I haven't seen Fiddler since I was a kid. Can't wait for the production. Ben is working crew and the director gave him a small part- a Russian who knocks over a bench. I have some tasks, too. I have to get props- some battery operated candles, some hats and a LARGE cart (you may have seen my posting on FB).
I have a lead on everything, though.
I love that the boys insist on MK first- but EPCOT would be easier!!!
The whole entry system at US is awful. They need to take some lessons from the Mouse.
The Photoconnect is not all that popular at US, so even the photographers are not used to it.
The Mardi Gras stuff is temporary, but yes, like POFQ. I assume. I haven't been there!

Ooh, I do like that for getting your Annual Passes. I've used the kiosks once for regular tickets and really liked the convenience.
I have to be honest. I am not a fan in any way of the finger scanners in Universal period. Lockers, park entry, doesn't matter. I personally find they suck.
Oh no you didn't do the Mardi Gras???? It is only on weekends (mostly just Saturday I think and the occasional Friday/Sunday), but the Parade they do is really really good. I probably liked it most because it wasn't extra cost, lol.

The kiosks worked incredibly well. The scanners, not so much. We have only used the lockers once, in 14 days at US/IoA. Bless you fanny pack!

I think the issue with Lombards is that they do a Cinemagic Spectacular dinner package, but it was frustrating.
Plan B was just meant to happen.
Plan B was my first choice all along, so I didn't mind!
I hate the Universal finger scanners.
I actually got the locker scanners to work really well, but the entry scanners? We were definitely "those people"...
Any reference about "morons" was not directed at you! I blame the turnstile scanners and that the TMs don't have a Plan B when they don't work!
I thought the Mummy was really fun! I don't think it's my favorite ride in Orlando (that would be the Tower of Terror!), but it is a great ride.
ToT may get my vote for favorite queue (but TSM, Forbidden Journey). Maybe not. Great ride though!

Sadly yes. Although everyone advises that you don't need reservations for meals at US, we made 3 after that and I'm really glad we did. Could be that it was a really busy week and the cold contributed to that too.
Your room at Universal looks nice. I like the fact that there are two sinks, one inside and one outside of the bathroom.
Let's see, if I didn't have a dinner reservation at Disney I'd get on my iPhone, open the app, and make one.
