I went to take a smoke break, and there used to be a very pretty, tucked away spot right near the entrance to Jurassic World near Hogsmeade, but it was gone. Perhaps due to Velocicoaster, or maybe Universal is following Disney's lead in first decreasing, then eliminating smoking sections? The closest one was all the way by Mystic Fountain in Lost Continent. A 12 or 13 year old girl was there, hanging out with her mother, so after getting a discreet "OK" from the mom, I offered her something from the Ministry of Magic bag. She got a Time Turner necklace (remember the box of 20 pieces of jewelry for $7?) and was absolutely thrilled. She said: "It's my birthday today!!!" so I gave her another round in the bag and she got a pack of adorable Harry Potter stickers.
J, R, and H joined me and we watched the Mystic Fountain do its stuff. There was always a group of little kids waiting to talk with it and get squirted! We headed to the Jurassic Park Discovery Center which was just OK but afforded some hilarious photos:
We met the baby dinosaur:
And we posed for the obligatory dino shots. I'm pretty sure I nailed it.
No one wanted to ride the flume ride, and none of us were interested in queuing for Velocicoaster, so we headed out, riding Kong (terrific) and Spiderman (always great) on the way out. Then we met Betty Boop!
-10 points for fanny pack placement, + 6 points for proper foot technique!
J is doing a pretty great curtsy, considering she's wearing shorts! They had it set up great, where you had a spot to stand on, far enough from the characters, but without a rope in between.
Next up: Beach afternoon, Cuban round 2, and chasing the sun!
