Destin, FL residents, professionals, insiders?

Me and hubby just returned from a four night stay in Destin. He won two nights at the Comfort Suites in Destin in a raffle and we added on two more nights at our expense. Nice hotel, but not my vibe. But this trip we hauled our own pontoon boat down. And this was a GAME CHANGER!!!!

We stored the trailer at the Destin Marina and rented a boat dock on Gulf Shore Drive. But we would like to book a condo, house, ect. with its own boat dock next time. Any advice where to look at? Best places, prices, location? We like Crab Island. Any advice would be appreciated.

We've stayed many times at the Inn on Destin Harbor, which is the only hotel directly overlooking the harbor. There are docks there, but I don't think they belong to the hotel. Worth a phone call, though.

This condo has docks that belong to them, I think. We stayed there 10 years ago. Decent place.

We like Destin for all the restaurants within walking distance of the harbor. All the activity and boat traffic in the harbor is great to watch. We've never been to Crab Island, but obviously is great fun for kids and party types. It is interesting that there are several similar places like Crab Island along the Redneck Riviera, from Gulf Shores, AL to PC Beach, FL. This one is really popular near Orange Beach, AL

We've stayed at the Emerald Grande at Harbor Walk Village. It's where my great grandparents house was located. Not sure if there's a dock though. My Papa was the harbor master back in the day.
