BCV Resort Configuration

An exploratory tour of the Beach Club Villas reveals the floor plan for this resort complex. There appear to be four general views available, with some variation within each view type- depending on which floor and location of the room. I have NOT personally experienced each view from the different villas and am basing my assumptions on the apparent likely view from each area.

The public laundry room- with free use of washers and dryers- is located on the 4th floor. Each floor has an ice and vending machine room. There are two elevators. One near the main entrance and another near the far end of the quiet pool area. There are multiple stairways on each floor.

Dedicated 2BR villas are noted by a *. Rooms grouped together by a – are lock-off 2BR’s with the lower numbered room the Studio. The view is noted by a 1), 2), 3), or 4). The actual configuration and view of the rooms is speculation on my part, as I’ve actually seen the interior of only one room (#545- which is a 1BR lock-off). There are some dedicated Studio and 1BR villas. These are noted by a #.

1) The Pool View rooms all look over the quiet pool. All of these rooms are even numbered (but not all even numbered rooms have this view).

2) EPCOT views all have a view towards the park. Some have a view of Spaceship Earth and some have a view towards World Showcase- with an opportunity to see the Illuminations fireworks. These rooms face towards the roadway to BWV, but have reasonable landscaping blocking much of the traffic. Traffic noise may be apparent from the room balcony, but should be minimal from inside the villa itself.

3) BC Courtyard/Epcot Views look out on the nearby Beach Club. The lower floors will have a view of the resort and the surrounding landscaping. Upper floors (4 and 5- possibly 3) will likely have a glimpse of some Epcot structures and most all should have a glimpse of the Illuminations fireworks.

4) BC Courtyard/MGM/BW Views look out on the nearby Beach Club. The lower floors will also have a view of that resort and the surrounding landscaping. Upper floors (4 and 5- possibly 3) will likely have a glimpse towards BW, Swan, Dolphin and Disney/MGM Studios. From the 5th floor (possibly the 4th also), you may be able to see ToT, Earffel Tower (at Disney/MGM) and Blizzard Beach in the distance. There is also a view of Epcot’s American Adventure Pavilion and France’s Eiffel Tower. The Illuminations fireworks are NOT visible, but the sound is very evident and the explosion flashes are very apparent.

In this BCV map:
1) is Blue
2) is Green
3) is Red
4) is Yellow

As always, I would NOT suggest requesting specific rooms when making reservations. Requests for a view, area or floor are easiest to meet and provide the resort with some opportunity to meet requests. Disney resorts do attempt to meet requests, but cannot guarantee any request.

Doc --

Thank you for taking the time to do this room configuration summary. What a nice person you are to take time from your vacation to do this. I can tell you that I have bookmarked this and will be printing off a copy for myself as a reference.

Thanks!!!

Thank you so much, Doc!! I'm printing it right now!! It was so kind of you to do this. Are you still at BCV? Hope you're having a great trip! Thanks again!!

Thanks for another information filled post, Doc!

You are a great man, Doc!

I hope you know how much your help and information means to us. We can count on you to come through.

THANK YOU!

Tig

Many many thanks for taking the time from your trip to help those of us with plans to visit BCV. It will be most helpful at check-in time. Last year we got a room which was okay, but not really what we wanted. This year I want to be better prepared when we check-in.

Thanks again.

Doc,

This is great! It is so nice of you to put this information together for all of us. Thanks and enjoy your vacation.

Thanks so much for taking the time to do that! It was so nice of you. What a great reference to have. I'm printing it now. Hope you had a great trip!

Thanks Doc,

DW, DS, and I will be going in February and to be sure, we will use this valuable information.

Some questions, you say

"There are two elevators servicing all but the 5th floor and multiple stairways on each floor."

Am I to understand that you take the elevator to the 4th floor and then stairs, or are you saying that there is only one elevator that services the 5th floor? I suspect it's one elevator to the 5th floor, but had to ask.

Also, if it is just one elevator, where in the "4 general view areas" is that one elevator located?

And the same question for the 2 elevators, are you saying there are only 2 elevators serving the Villas, and if so, where are they located, relative to the "general view areas"?

Thanks again Doc, hope you are enjoying your vacation.

Thanks, that was unclear and has now been corrected.

The main elevator is right inside the entryway from the BC. It serves all 5 floors.

The other elevator is at the far end of the resort towards Epcot and stops at floors 1-4. The 5th floor does not extend the entire length of the resort (only the "middle" section) and is easily accessed from the main elevator.

The main elevator is in the vicinity of rooms X16 and X25 on each floor. The second elevator is on the pool side of the resort near room X61. (Substitute a floor #1-4 for the X.)

316 is NOT a lockoff studio. It is a dedicated studio. It has one of the big balconies and it doesn't connect to the next room. So 314 must also be a dedicated one-bedroom. Might be different on the other floors, though.

316 is NOT a lockoff studio. It is a dedicated studio.

Thanks! Without being inside the room, there is no way to discern that status.

It is corrected in the survey. I'll assume that other floors have the same configuration.

Corrections are appreciated!

Is there any added benefit to staying higher up (5th floor) than say on the second floor? Are these rooms filled the fastest? We will be staying in a studio in April, can you recommend any particular floor? I heard the laundry room is located on the fourth floor for the studios, do you recommend we stay on this floor so we don't have to lug our suitcases to that room? thanks so much.

We also are staying in a Studio. My DS would prefer the Pool View.

Can you tell me what view 316 (dedicated Studio) has, and what other Studios have the large balcony that might offer a Pool View?

Thanks so much Doc!! This is valuable information. I'm printing this out, too.
A couple of questions:
when do you recommend requesting a specific view?
is this information available for the VWL, too.

Thanks so much!! :)

Thank you Doc for all of the good information. You do such a thorough job! In early August we stayed across the hall from your room in 544 and 546. Your description of our view was completely accurate.

Our view from the room perfectly framed Spaceship Earth. We were in the room only one night during Illumiinations (the others we were at MK FITS, Fantasmic or at the AP viewing spot at Epcot). You could see Illuminations very well from the room by just looking to the right. You could barely see the "ball" move on the lake from time to time through the trees. You can't really hear the music, but do hear the fireworks. As you stated, these rooms do overlook Epcot Resorts Boulevard, however, the noise did not bother us when we were on the balconies or in the rooms-and I am a light sleeper.

A couple of observations to add to yours are the larger baconies appear to be on the second floor and the fifth floor. Ours went the complete width of the unit, but had a divider between the studio part and the one bedroom beacause it is a lockoff. The porch lights do stay on all night. Again, it did not bother us.

Doc, you are correct about the two elevators as you enter BCV from the BCR. There is also one elevator located close to room 561, where the fifth floor terminates. You can exit that elevator very close to the pool. That elevator is quite handy to get to from the room and the parking lot.

A question for you, Doc, or anyone that has stayed in either room 566 or 563. What is the configuration and view? From where the doors are placed, it looks as if it might be different from the others.

Enjoy your trip. Thanks again for sharing.

I'll join the others in offering my thanks.

Is there a clever person out there who might be able to put together a map of some sort? I'm still trying to figure out where the four different kinds of views would be located, given the shape of the building.

(Over on the Resorts board, there's an incredible thread with detailed floor plans of the Beach & Yacht Clubs. Maybe the owner of that thread would like to to a BCV map.)

Doc,

Thanks for this information as well as the work you have previously supplied for HH and OKW.

Any chance these could be kept at the top of the board....maybe added to the FAQ list? It'd be easier than printing them out and a lot easier than doing searches. Just a thought.

And again, thanks for taking the time out of your vacation to pull this information together. Very thorough! :)

The BCV layout has been updated with a map of the resort.
Pool View rooms are in Blue.
Epcot View rooms are in Green.
Courtyard/BC/Epcot views are in Red.
Courtyard/BC/MGM/Epcot views are in Yellow.

<img src="http://www.wdwinfo.com/resortmaps/bcvmap.jpg">

Again, I cannot vouch for the accuracy of the roomtypes with these views. The room numbers and locations are correct, but there may be some variation in the type/size of the rooms listed as I have not been inside any except #545.

If you have any corrections, please let me know.

Enjoy!
