So it looks like Be Our Guest is becoming Prix Fixe Meal and 2TS credits...thoughts?

I can't imagine paying $35 for "typical" kid offerings.

At that price .. this became an adults only dinner in my opinion. A date night while the grandparents take the kids to Crystal Palace or Liberty Tree.

While I am happy about this change, I couldn't agree more. But I still think we will go. It will be our splurge during our vacation, providing the menu changes improves the quality of the food which I expect it will.

My main question is - If is does go to Signature and requires 2 TS, will this mean you need to pre-pay when you make your reservations? I would think so.

Unless something has changed going forward, we've always been on the deluxe dining plan and have never pre-paid for CRT.

I just hope they have the typical kids offerings on the kids menu and don’t try to get too fancy there.

This is my main question also. Personally I think the new menu looks exciting and will make it easier for people who actually want to eat dinner to get a reservation. But as much as I enjoy French dining, my kids do not! The BOG menu was borderline for them to begin with.

It will be taken off our list if it becomes a signature. It’s sad because there is not a lot for table service in Magic Kingdom. Will have to hop to Epcot more.

And I feel the exact opposite. I feel like finally we have an option IN the magic kingdom. But that's the beauty of Disney, there are so many options - everyone is bound to have somewhere to go!

Is be our guest usually open during the special events like Halloween party or After Hours events?

I'd love to do a proper signature dining in the Magic Kingdom on one of those nights when the crowds are much lower

I’m so happy that my lunch reservations ate before the changeover. Given the menu items like charred octopus, I doubt that we will dine there in the future.

If you haven't tried charred octopus before, try it! We've had it several times in different places and it is really good. We haven't been to BOG for dinner because it wasn't worth the hassle of getting an ADR, but we enjoyed lunch. With this menu, we are more inclined to try dinner. It will just be hard to decide what to order since so much looks really tasty!

That makes sense .. was that a really common practice?

While I can't tie a dollar amount to it, anecdotally I've seen on Dis and other boards that families will frequently get a dinner reservation just to meet the Beast. Getting desserts lets folks keep costs low while still getting the dinner/character experience.

We're fans of dinner (probably because I'm a diehard fan and we're stupid easy to please), and will probably still be fans after this shift.

There will still be breakfast and lunch

If lunch stays as QS then I'm fine with this. Though I suspect it will make the lunch reservations even harder to get. I did want to experience it for diner eventually to see how much difference the lack of people made and to meet the Beast, but this prices me out most likely, especially with the menu.

I wouldn't count on it. Look at CRT. It's just eh and it's pricier than $55 per adult for dinner.

Why would you think that you would have to prepay?

There are many 2 credit meals that don't require prepayment.

I think now they need to make breakfast and lunch a fixed price. No more ordering a cupcake and water for your entire party. Each person pays for and receives a meal.

After "Finding Dory," you can find Hank's missing arm.

It doesn't seem like this fits the theme...

I think that BoG should be more family/kid friendly, there are plenty of places at DS and Epcot for “fancy” food. MK is like kid Mecca, and a restaurant based on a kid movie, located in a kids park, with a character interaction, should be kid/family friendly, and most typical kids and families won’t find the new menu or prices appealing.

I personally am not thrilled with the apps menu, but the entrees look good. Overall, I don't feel this is a bad deal for adults at $55 each, but agree with @tlmadden73 and @MIAMouseketeer about the $35 each for kids. At that price you need to have a seriously improved character experience here.
