We plan to stay there but want to do laundry. A guest laundromat or self laundry is listed on each site I've seen when I search on amenities for this hotel, but no further information is given. If you've seen/used the laundry facilities there, please let me know what you know.
If you think this hotel is acceptable, please let me know because the below experience has me worried.
In desperation I finally called the hotel directly - not a toll-free number. After listening to the recording, I selected talk to customer service but after 4 rings got back to the same recording. I did this 4-5 times in a row before trying the "reservations" option to try to get a person. My experience with that person is causing me to reconsider our reservation. I politely stated that I had a question about the listed guest laundry and asked if it was just two or - and was cut off by an abrupt YES! I clarified by asking if those two machines were out of order would I be out of luck doing laundry. I was hoping for more specifics leading to reassurance that we could actually expect to be able to do a load of laundry (maybe on a different floor or that there were more than a couple machines or that they would offer a discount on laundry service if the self option was out of order) while there. But again, a yes was barked at me. I know I selected a "reservation" line when the other wasn't answered; but I was hoping they would want happy customers who want to book their hotel. If this is representative on the attitude at Springhill Suites Seaworld, I think my planning may have been for naught and I have to start over to select a different hotel.

I would still like input from anyone who has had good or not experience at this location.
I called back 2 hours later and did get connected with a person who answered my questions. There are laundry facilities on floors 2, 4 and 5. It's $1 each wash cycle and each dry cycle. Many people need more than one dry cycle. (this seems typical per my family's experience - coin laundry doesn't handle the large loads we sometime cram into the dryer) Coin machines and laundry detergent and fabric softener are not in the laundry rooms, but the lobby will sell individual laundry sizes and make change for the machines.
I'm still considering moving to another hotel. I got a person and a helpful person, but they did not seem overly concerned about my previous call - no questions about to whom I spoke or exactly when I called. Hmmm....

Springhill gets mostly great reviews on trip advisor. I will be staying there this August. Will you be before or after me? If after, let me know what you would like to know.

I have stayed there before and rather liked it. If you have stayed at a Springhill Suites you know the basic design. It is a newer design, where the bathroom is split into 2 different areas (which makes it nice when 1 person is in the shower and another person needs to use the toilet).

The pool area is nice and large and includes a little eating place with food and drink. I have a personal size Pizza Hut pizza there. Probably cheaper to go to Pizza Hut but when you want a snack and don't feel like driving it is fine. It is also handy if you want to have a drink while the kids swim. The pool area is shared with the Fairfield Inn but it was not overcrowded when I was there.

There are also several eating places within easy walking distance such as Panera and Buffalo Wild Wings. There is a drug store on the corner (CVS I think). There are a number of other eating places close by but they are across either I Drive or Central Florida, so traffic can be an issue.

The breakfast at Springhill was a typical Springhill breakfast, which is fine. Everyone I dealt with onsite was friendly, I did not encounter any type of an attitude like you describe.

ratings and room layout is why we booked it in the first place - I was just really disappointed at the lack of customer service for a question and concerned that it might be indicative of a (new) bad attitude at the hotel.
We plan to stay before debsters - if you've got ?s for me, let me know :upsidedow
Floir - so the staff attitude was just fine and how long ago was your stay? Did you notice the guest laundry facilities? :listen:

We stayed there last year and the year before, and thought the service was good when we were there. We didn't do any laundry, though, so can't speak to that.
