Here’s my (mostly) tongue in cheek: if you had kept Night 1 Palo, this wouldn’t be an issue. Said by someone who intentionally does Palo on Pirate Night - but haven’t experienced these new test times for fireworks.
I might even go outside to see the fireworks if I were dining in Palo.
I haven't canceled it yet lol. I THINK finally what my plan is is this
I am going to keep 8pm pirates night
we have an 11:30 PAT boarding group 7
I'm going to get on board and see the Palo people about adding our people to our Thursday brunch (I am not canceling if I they can't though, lol - but I am hoping I'll be able to snag a 4 top for our 2 top on that day since the other sea day is packed with things we don't want to cancel) and also check the navigator (who am I kidding, I am going to be checking the navigator as soon as I am in ship wifi range!) If the pirate party is at 10pm I will probably keep our 8 or maybe see if I can move it to 7:30 (which it was originally before I freaked out like an idiot seeing all of those references to 8pm fireworks.)
If the pirate party is at 7:30 with fireworks to follow, I will cancel pirate night and book first night on the spot - since I assume they won't let me cancel it day of without penalties, I can't hold it in advance. But I
really cannot imagine they are shooting off the fireworks 15 minutes before the sun even sets!!! But I digress, if for whatever reason the fireworks are at 8 I am going to assume it will be easy enough to get either first night or last night, both of which have multiple seating time choices available right now 33 days out.
So I am pretty sure 10pm for the party will be it with fireworks to follow because it makes no sense any other way that time of year. I just wish I'd been able to process all that without changing things around, stressing, and bugging you fine people. But I mean seriously, maybe I should have checked sunset first thing lol.
I thought of going outside to see the fireworks but in my quick disboard search people said they close that section of deck during the fireworks. I would be totally ok pausing dinner for fireworks having done that at california grill more than once. But having to find a spot among the crowds in the middle of a meal - no.
