Disney's PORT ORLEANS FRENCH QUARTER RESORT Information & Questions

We are going next month and want to order water and snacks. We have used garden grocer in the past. Has anyone used them lately or is there another place to order?
Thank you!!

We used Safeway at a different resort last week (BWV) and it worked out great. First order has free delivery and we saved a lot of money on drinks and snacks by ordering ahead.

The newly remodeled Sassagoula Floatworks menu is great! We just returned from our stay, where we ate breakfast there several of the days. The new menus have some really good food!

We had:
  • Mickey waffles (of course!)
  • The Po' Boy
  • Shrimp and grits
  • custom omelets (spinach, tomato, feta, etc.)
  • breakfast sandwiches and tater tots
  • beignets
All of our food was very good! We used to do the same: travel to Riverside or another resort for breakfast instead of POFQ... but now we don't have to. :)

love beignets using a snack credit for breakfast

Just got back from a split stay of here and Poly. Originally had booked CBR but moved when construction was announced and received a nice discount on a GV at FQ. I have to say I enjoyed it here more than Poly! Very peaceful without a draw of a TS restaurant. Plus we had a fabulous view in bldg 7 that also gave a view of the river. Poly we wound up facing monorail and had loud children in either side of us. I know each stay varied but really enjoyed FQ more than I thought we would. Only regret that I only got beignets once.

I might be shot down in flames for asking this question, but I'm asthmatic and smoke areas really aggravate it, is it possible to request a room away from smoking areas as the map I looked at, it seems that there were a lot of smoking areas, or is it just how I have looked at the map?
Also I have a standard room booked, is any area better although I understand that its quite a small resort so easy to get to everything?

Thanks:)

Can't hurt to ask to be away from the smoking areas. If you have standard booked you are in buildings 1,3,4 or 7. If walking up to POR is part of the plans request 7 but really everything is close. We walk up to POR every trip a couple of times even when we stayed in Building 1. Most of the smoking areas seem to be in the middle of courtyards and not right by a room.

Okay got another question to ask!

I've read that you can use the swimming pools at POR and vice versa, I'm presuming that our magic bands will just allow us in, or do we need to tell someone that we want to use the pool to be let in, and would this apply to the quiet pools as well?

Also if you didn't want to walk to POR, is there a way of getting there without having to go to a park first?

Thanks

No need to use magic bands, the gates are not locked during operating hours. They are just there for safety to prevent small children getting into the pool area unattended, and to prevent out of hours access to the feature pools.

You can jump on an internal shuttle bus (use the Disney Springs route, or check with other drivers to see if they happen to be continuing on to POR) or take a ferry boat if it's before 5pm when the internal POR-to-POFQ service finishes. In most cases it would probably be quicker to walk though, unless a boat is just pulling in.

Strange question, but can anyone confirm that POFQ still has the Blushing Orange scent toiletries?

Hi Folks - we are debating a Christmas trip this year (despite being there in April this year!!) In April we stayed at Art of Animation, but as they dont have any little mermaid rooms left we are considering either Pop Century or POFQ. Can you talk to me about buses? What we loved about A0A was the fact that you queued seperately for whichever park you wanted to - rather than the free for all we found at CBR last year. What is the situation at POFQ? TIA Cheryl
