Some good news/some bad news...

The good news... I found Disney GCs on sale at BJ's website for $94.99 for $100 GC. If you have a Chase Freedom card, you should qualify for 5% rewards on top of this for this quarter & next.

The bad news... shipping is $7.39. (Although it's a flat-rate no matter how many cards you order, so if you need 10 cards, it's only $7.39 to ship them all, not $73.90)

This works in store with no upcharge right?

That's awful! I know it's not much money in the grand scheme of things but it's frightening nonetheless. You don't have the physical gift cards somewhere else or in an email to check the balances?

They probably have balances, you just need to find the gc numbers to use them. This has happened to me too. I just got the cards and entered them when I wanted to use them and they were fine.

It is not much money and I am thankful for that. I will have to sort through a lot of emails (if I even have them still) to find the full card numbers. If I find some extra free time, I will start doing that but right now, I am just glad it wasn't more money and I learned my lesson about having any GC's saved in Target's system. Oh, and I need to keep better records.

I got this email a couple of times and I'm not banned either. Usually it was when I ordered an e-gift card. Funny thing is the order ended up arriving within 30 minutes of receiving the email.

There isn't just one single deal or way to churn. You should go back a few hundred pages and then if you have questions, ask more specific ones.

There is no single way to do this as the pp stated. It takes a ton of reading to figure out what people are doing b/c methods really vary. The Best Buy and Gamestop thing is highly YMMV as some stores (districts) are changing policies so start slowly with whatever you decide to do.

I did it once to test the waters and will not do it again. For me it is not worth it but for others it might be.

I bought a discounted gamestop card on eBay (paid $100 and got one for $120) Then I went to gamestop and bought a eBay gift card for $120. Came home and bought a $100 dollar best buy gift card. Then I got locked out when trying to buy an additional $25 card from pay pal digital, meaning it would not let me purchase the gift card using my gift card. Then I went to Best Buy and sweated bullets hoping I would get a nice cashier who would let me buy gift card with a gift card (there is nothing I want at best buy for $100). Thankfully I Came home with my $100 gift card for Disney and now have $20 gift card on my paypal account for eBay somewhere out there in cyber space because I don't see it. All to say it was way more trouble than it was worth. Then again that was just my one experience, as was mentioned others I am sure have different ones.

I will stick to Kroger fuel points and target!

Gamestop and Best Buy are two different ways to try to buy gift cards that can be used to buy another giftcard that would be more useful. As someone already pointed out, both of these methods do not work universally, and everyone has their own reasons for using one vs. the other. (You may not have one of those stores near you, one may not carry cards you want, etc.)

You really do need to go back to about page 800 or 850 to get a good idea about all the different ways to work this, and to see what everyone else's experiences have been. This way you can learn from other's mistakes and other's troubles, so that you know what you are up against, and what not to do.

Thanks for posting this! I have money left in my PayPal account from the last Ebates payout, so I used that. It felt very strange not to be paying with an eBay gift card. Bought 3 $25 Starbucks gift card for in-store pickup at Best Buy. We'll use those on our trip next January.

I would be SHOCKED if this worked like you wanted.... That is a scam that many many people have tried before,in large denominations. Can you imagine the loss to the store if they allowed it? That means we could order something use a gc and attempt to return for store credit which equals cash,to use on something in store?

When I returned my $60 item from the ebay BB store yesterday, they did not ask for an ID. Plus I don't think one or two returns will be an issue for BB. I think it is patterned abuse that they are looking for.

Yup. Just one or two purchases like this,bought at one store,returned at another down the street. Can anyone here spell " red flag,here I am"? Oh,yes...just one or two....times 2,000 trying it out from reading about it online shouldn't raise any eyebrows...

I do not see how this is a scam. Store credit is not the same as cash.

Thank you for posting. After reading about the bad experiences this week - I hesitate to use PPDG anymore. I bought a $100 Walgreens card. Not planning to churn it but still nice to get it for $86.99.
