I guess I'm rope dropping IASW! ~ A March 2024 TR updated 05/16

I did. There were parts I found a little dry but there was a very nice twist at the end that put the whole book in perspective.
I'm intrigued!
Now let me spam you with pictures...
Beautiful pictures! We didn't get close to admire the carvings this last trip.
The safari was a walk on and I lucked out with the first row on the left hand side. It was perfect.
That is perfect, I love an evening Safari ride.
The one exception was the cute new baby elephant.:)
I was so sad we didn't get to see the baby elephant on our trip! So cute.
There was almost no one in the Gorilla family area and they were putting on a show.! Grace and Ada kept coming up to the glass, rolling over, playing with each other and hugging their mom. It was the cutest ever!
Aww, how fun! The gorillas were too far away when we went through there. It's so fun when they're being playful.

Looks like a great lunch at Brown Derby! Glad to hear the service matched.

Was this the pool under the skyliner? That threw me off a bit, I don't think I'd be able to relax with the skyliner going over me!

What a nice evening at AK, I love it there too. I didn't know you could see Luminous from the CBR beach, neat!

Funny you mentioned the Tree of Life Garden- I had never heard of it until yesterday when I came across a video of it on Instagram. It looks gorgeous and you got some great photos of the tree carvings. Sounds like you had a perfect evening both at AK and finishing with the fireworks on the beach. I really can’t think of a better way to end a day :goodvibes
It's such a peaceful and relaxing place to explore. I love that there are so many quiet places at AK. The fireworks totally topped off a perfect day.
We only discovered this garden fairly recently. The back of the Tree of Life has amazing sculptures. It is also very peaceful back there.
Caroline and I had a chance to explore the back of the tree in December when we went in to see the tortoises. I had never been in the garden before though and really enjoyed it.
That's good to know. We might be doing AK late in the day on our next trip and will include the gorillas. :)
AK is awesome in the late afternoon/early evening.
I’ve really grown to love Animal Kingdom. It has such a peaceful atmosphere and there are always things to explore and discover.
AK is definitely my favourite park. I love the lush landscaping and elaborate theming. It's just so well done.
You had such a great end to your day between the safari, AK wandering, and dinner at Nomad Lounge. Those churros look delicious!
Those churros are the most heavenly things ever! I highly recommend them.
Beautiful pictures! We didn't get close to admire the carvings this last trip.
It will be something to look forward to on your next trip!
Aww, how fun! The gorillas were too far away when we went through there. It's so fun when they're being playful.
They were adorable, especially Grace!
Looks like a great lunch at Brown Derby! Glad to hear the service matched.
It really was so delicious. I am happy to have finally tried the lounge. :)
Was this the pool under the skyliner? That threw me off a bit, I don't think I'd be able to relax with the skyliner going over me!
No it was in the Martinique section on the other side of the resort. I don't know if I would want to be that close to the gondolas either!
What a nice evening at AK, I love it there too. I didn't know you could see Luminous from the CBR beach, neat!
I didn't know you could see fireworks from CBR either until the night I arrived and was surprised by them. It's such a nice amenity to have at a moderate resort. :goodvibes

There's always something new to discover at Animal Kingdom!
::yes::
I saw a sign I hadn't noticed before; "The Tree of Life Garden". I was intrigued and went in to explore.
I don’t recall if I’ve been on that trail. I certainly haven’t noticed the sign before. I’m gonna go with… “no”.
The safari was a walk on and I lucked out with the first row on the left hand side.
:thumbsup2
There was almost no one in the Gorilla family area and they were putting on a show.! Grace and Ada kept coming up to the glass, rolling over, playing with each other and hugging their mom. It was the cutest ever!
Aww. :)
I went for the spicy chicken and the Sinola Sangria to start.
Unfortunately it’d be a no for me because of the peanuts.
And of course I had to get churros! Don't worry, no churros were left behind. It would be wrong not to eat them all. :)
I really need to get these.

There's always something new to discover at Animal Kingdom!

That's for sure!

I enjoyed a stroll through the front of the park and up past the otters when I saw a sign I hadn't noticed before; "The Tree of Life Garden". I was intrigued and went in to explore.

I'm going to guess that's the bargain that was roped off during my 2022 visit cause I don't remember it being that all-envompassing before.

Friends, it was amazing! I saw so many new carvings and thoroughly enjoyed wandering through here.

Nice!

The safari was a walk on and I lucked out with the first row on the left hand side. It was perfect. I don't really have safari pictures from this evening as I just wanted to relax and soak it all in. The one exception was the cute new baby elephant.:)

We saw the baby too, but you got a much better picture!

I decided to head to Nomad Lounge for a light dinner. I went for the spicy chicken and the Sinola Sangria to start. Both were excellent!

Sounds like a nice light meal!

I was ready to head back to the resort now and was lucky to have only a 5 minute wait for a bus.

That's great!

I don’t recall if I’ve been on that trail. I certainly haven’t noticed the sign before. I’m gonna go with… “no”.
I had never noticed it before either. It certainly is a beautiful area. :)
Unfortunately it’d be a no for me because of the peanuts.
Allergic?? I am the same with tree nuts (except almonds).
I really need to get these.
Yes you do!
I'm going to guess that's the bargain that was roped off during my 2022 visit cause I don't remember it being that all-envompassing before.
I have never been in that area before and I pride myself on knowing AK like the back of my hand.
We saw the baby too, but you got a much better picture!
He is such a sweet little guy!

I am really enjoying the pics of your latest adventures!

The Tree of Life Garden is such a hidden gem inside the park! I love finding new carvings every time I visit.

Sounds like it was an absolutely lovely evening in DAK. I mean, there's not many other places you can catch sight of a baby elephant and then witness gorillas frolicking around. :goodvibes

I really must try Nomad Lounge one day. Those churros look divine!

Friends, it was amazing! I saw so many new carvings and thoroughly enjoyed wandering through here. AK is the best park to wander in after all. Now let me spam you with pictures...

I haven't done this walk in many years. I think Danielle was till in grade school. Thanks for reminding me to do it again.

The safari was a walk on and I lucked out with the first row on the left hand side. It was perfect.

This really is the best seat to have.

I managed to get on the last Gorilla Falls trail walk and it was incredible. There was almost no one in the Gorilla family area and they were putting on a show.! Grace and Ada kept coming up to the glass, rolling over, playing with each other and hugging their mom. It was the cutest ever!

How special!.

I wanted to be back on the beach in time for Luminous and it did not disappoint!

Perfect way to end the night.

I am really enjoying the pics of your latest adventures!

Thanks! Alas the touristy fun party ends today. I'm just waiting in my hotel room now for my tour guides to pick me up for my last breakfast and then take me to the train station. I still have 2 days journey home, but it's been a fun solo adventure!

I can't believe you haven't been there! I know you will love it!

It's such a beautiful area to explore. :)
Perfect way to end the night.
Nothing better than ab beachfront fireworks view!

So glad you've had an amazing trip!

Why is everything broken at Magic Kingdom?

Another bright and early morning and I was ready to go play in the parks! I had decided to go with a Disney Bound today, any guesses who I was going for? I was meeting up with @KathyM2 , her son and his girlfriend for MK rope drop. I thought it might be easier to leave from Riviera as I wanted to grab coffee and a light breakfast from Primo Piatto. Unfortunately I missed a MK bus by minutes and had to wait quite a while. I arrived just after rope drop and my plan was to head straight to Peter Pan. As I walked through Fantasyland I couldn't believe how long the lineup was for 7 Dwarves. I kept going and strangely found no one in line at Peter Pan. Of course it was down and the CM said it would not be available for the foreseeable future! The CM shared that 7 Dwarves was also down (explaining the unusually long line) and Pirates was down as well. Haunted Mansion had a long line as a result so I thought to myself "I guess I'm rope dropping It's a Small World!"

I said hi to my favourite hippo.

Do you remember when guest names would come up on the goodbye signs? Is that a thing anymore? Or only if you have a G+ for IASW?

Kathy and I were texting and her group was just coming off HM. The plan was to head to Winnie the Pooh so I headed there to meet them. We enjoyed a ride through the Hundred Acres Wood, then went to Under the Sea and Dumbo. It was only my 2nd time on Dumbo and of course the control was not working so we couldn't fly . What was going on this morning?

Kathy's son and his GF had G+ plans so Kathy and I decided it was snack time. We headed to Cheshire Cat Cafe where I went for my beloved Cheshire Cat tail and an iced coffee while Kathy enjoyed the specialty iced drink.
IMG_5104.JPEG
People Mover was next on our list and of course it never disappoints!
IMG_5105.JPEG
Are you even on the People Mover without a classic foot shot?

Kathy and I were enjoying our best Disney lives. :)
IMG_5106.JPEGIMG_8513.JPEG

Kathy had some other friends in the park so she headed off to see them while I went for my beloved Carousel of Progress. Such a perfect attraction!

I strolled down Main Street USA hoping to catch a set of the Dapper Dans. Of course they were perfect as always.

On the way out of the park, I noticed a short line for the Roy and Minnie shot so hopped in to get this classic shot.

I was heading for the resort launch over to the Grand now as I was going to see the Easter Egg display for the first time. That's next!

Peter Pan is the ride we always do at rope drop, unless we manage to be really close to the line at park opening. I don't know what there is left to do when all those rides are down. :(
People Mover was next on our list and of course it never disappoints!
It's like an old friend. ;)

I’m getting all caught up! So many attractions down, ugh 😩
My sister Helen’s name showed up at the end of IASW this trip and I haven’t seen our names in a long time!
Are you Rapunzel?
It looks like you did get some classic attractions in at least!

Why is everything broken at Magic Kingdom?
:sad2:
Unfortunately I missed a MK bus by minutes
:headache:
I kept going and strangely found no one in line at Peter Pan.
Yuss!!!! Ride it three times!!!
Of course it was down and the CM said it would not be available for the foreseeable future!
oh.

Nevermind, then.
The CM shared that 7 Dwarves was also down (explaining the unusually long line) and Pirates was down as well.
Sheesh! Could you still get a drink or something to eat???
Haunted Mansion had a long line as a result so I thought to myself "I guess I'm rope dropping It's a Small World!"
:faint:
I said hi to my favourite hippo.
Drunken hippo is the only reason to ride.
Although doing it with classic rock blaring in your earbuds makes the ride awesome.
Do you remember when guest names would come up on the goodbye signs?
::yes::
It was only my 2nd time on Dumbo and of course the control was not working so we couldn't fly .
:headache:
You just aren't having any luck, this morning!
I went for my beloved Cheshire Cat tail
I figured it out! I don't care for it because it uses dark chocolate, of which I'm not a big fan.
Are you even on the People Mover without a classic foot shot?
:thumbsup2
It must be done.
Kathy and I were enjoying our best Disney lives. :)
:goodvibes

Of course! :)

Nice shot. However...
IMG_8513.JPEG
...however, I like this one better.
And I am terrible at guessing Disney bounding. You're.... someone purple!!! Yeah... no idea.

and Pirates was down as well. Haunted Mansion had a long line as a result so I thought to myself "I guess I'm rope dropping It's a Small World!"
Man, that is a bad morning for rides! And sometimes you just gotta go with what is near by at that point.

It was only my 2nd time on Dumbo and of course the control was not working so we couldn't fly . What was going on this morning?
This happened to us when the girls were little and it was tears city! I feel like they should warn you before you get in!

Well now it makes sense why you rope dropped IASW! That is a lot of things broken for one morning at MK.
Do you remember when guest names would come up on the goodbye signs? Is that a thing anymore? Or only if you have a G+ for IASW?
I think both times we rode, only my MIL's name popped up. We rode it with Genie+ one time and without another. My theory is that she is the only one who had a new magic band for this trip (the rest of us were using magic bands from 2022) and that might be why her signal was stronger? But I'm not sure.

I thought to myself "I guess I'm rope dropping It's a Small World!"
So that’s how your trip report title came about. I did wonder. You really weren’t having much luck this morning as far as rides working though I think you did some of my favourite classics. The Winnie the Pooh ride always makes me laugh out loud. My kids all adored the stories and movies so I have a huge soft spot for Pooh and friends.
I said hi to my favourite hippo
Everyone should have a favourite hippo 😊
Do you remember when guest names would come up on the goodbye signs?
Yes I do remember that and the excitement from my kids hoping to spot their names.
People Mover was next on our list and of course it never disappoints!
Another all time favourite. I cannot imagine being in MK and not riding the People Mover. So nice to just sit back and relax and take it all in:goodvibes
Are you even on the People Mover without a classic foot shot?
Nope!:rotfl:
Kathy and I were enjoying our best Disney lives.
You both look so happy in your photos. It’s lovely you managed to meet up and spend some time together 😊

I’m looking forward to seeing the GF Easter display and I’m going to guess you are bounding as Rapunzel.

Peter Pan is the ride we always do at rope drop, unless we manage to be really close to the line at park opening. I don't know what there is left to do when all those rides are down. :(
Not much honestly. It was really frustrating.
It's like an old friend. ;)
::yes::
I’m getting all caught up! So many attractions down, ugh 😩
It was so annoying!
My sister Helen’s name showed up at the end of IASW this trip and I haven’t seen our names in a long time!
That's cool! Did she have a newer Magic Band?
Are you Rapunzel?
Yes! :goodvibes
Drunken hippo is the only reason to ride.
Although doing it with classic rock blaring in your earbuds makes the ride awesome.
That's the way to do it! Although I am not a classic rock girl. I'll go with 80's New Wave.
You just aren't having any luck, this morning!
Nope!
I figured it out! I don't care for it because it uses dark chocolate, of which I'm not a big fan.
I like pretty much all chocolate except white chocolate. Is that even chocolate?
And I am terrible at guessing Disney bounding. You're.... someone purple!!! Yeah... no idea.
Well I was someone purple...with pink flowers...and a braid which you can't see.....no frying pan though....it's Rapunzel! :)
Man, that is a bad morning for rides! And sometimes you just gotta go with what is near by at that point.
Pretty much!
This happened to us when the girls were little and it was tears city! I feel like they should warn you before you get in!
Awwww! Especially with little ones.
Well now it makes sense why you rope dropped IASW! That is a lot of things broken for one morning at MK.
It definitely wouldn't have been my first choice for rope drop but sometimes you just have to do what you have to do.
I think both times we rode, only my MIL's name popped up. We rode it with Genie+ one time and without another. My theory is that she is the only one who had a new magic band for this trip (the rest of us were using magic bands from 2022) and that might be why her signal was stronger? But I'm not sure.
Yes, my Magic Bands are old (from 2019-2021) so maybe the signal is not good anymore. I still get all my ride photos though.
No ride luck at all! I do love Winnie the Pooh as well. My boys loved the classic stories when they were little as well.
Another all time favourite. I cannot imagine being in MK and not riding the People Mover. So nice to just sit back and relax and take it all in:goodvibes
It's the best!! ♥️
You both look so happy in your photos. It’s lovely you managed to meet up and spend some time together 😊
It was great! We had more time together coming up later in the day as well. :)
I’m looking forward to seeing the GF Easter display and I’m going to guess you are bounding as Rapunzel.
The Easter display was stunning! You are correct...Rapunzel for the win. I love Disney Bounding!

That's the way to do it! Although I am not a classic rock girl. I'll go with 80's New Wave.
That’ll work. Although the dolls do seem to be “head bangin”.
I like pretty much all chocolate except white chocolate. Is that even chocolate?
It’s less chocolate and more a decorative trim for real chocolate.
Well I was someone purple...with pink flowers...and a braid which you can't see.....no frying pan though....it's Rapunzel! :)
Ohhhh…
Toldja I was bad at that.
