Just a quickie
We are at the Harbor Nights tonight
It's great. Don't know how many other reports there have been from others
We did the VIP package. Would never do it any other way. Price difference is small. Seats and you get extra food.
Feel free to ask questions if you'd like to know more

Sounds great! I'm not sure the other dates this year will line up with a trip of ours, but it sounds fabulous! What kind of appetizers were there? Any other details would be wonderful!

I was there! I thought it was great. Most of the people I spoke with were locals, it seems to be very popular night out for them. The menu was online but I'm not sure it still is. There was ocean bass over orzo, butternut squash ravioli, flat iron steak with mashed potatoes, a cold barley, artichoke and shrimp salad (this didn't have much flavor), and rosemary chicken over couscous. Also gelato, cannoli, and a lemon mascarpone mousse with strawberries! Plus about 15 wines to sample.

I did not do the VIP ticket, I am wondering what extra food they got?

I completely forgot to update after we moved over to Disney last night. It's been a whirlwind. Got over to Boardwalk to find they upgraded our room, a huge surprise. Right now waiting on bus to AK for the Party for the Planet

With the VIP you got several appetizers they brought around
First a plate with grilled veggies, cheeses, cold cuts and peppers
Then there were crab cakes, shrimp on toast, stuffed dates, stuffed phylo, one more on that plate I'm forgetting. They came around several times
They also brought around the main courses if you wanted and checked too be sure you got to everything you wanted to try. Desserts too.
A real nice bonus too, if you liked one of the wines a lot, they brought you an entire bottle for just your table.
Plus I loved having a seat. No standing table. Didn't have to get there early.
The upcharge for VIP is so small it just seems like a no brainier to not get it
Oh, there was staff making rounds and offering to introduce you to the chefs if you wanted to meet any. They brought them to the table

I really enjoyed the music, especially the three guys from Mama's

That does sound good, but in my mind it was a significant price difference. I can't remember what the VIP price was, with tax and fees mine was $63, and I thought the VIP was over $90? So a 50% price difference, which to me is not insignificant. It didn't matter what time you got there for the regular price, the tables were some what fluid, people came and went, and as a solo person I just asked people if I could join them temporarily. I didn't mind standing at all.

Yeah, right at $90 something. I guess I value seats higher than I thought, LOL
Which is funny since I don't consider then at Disney dessert parties
I think because this was main dish food items.

Sounds like a great event! Thanks for sharing the details! Will definitely keep this in mind if my dates fall in line with another Harbor Nights event!

How often do they have this event? Any idea if there will be dates in January 2023?
As with some other things at Universal, it annoys me that they do not announce dates very far in advance. There was one in Oct and one coming up Thanksgiving weekend I think, I doubt January will have one, maybe February, but hard to say. Usually one in April. I go 3 times a year and have not coincided with one since that date mentioned in the OP in 2018.

Is this the only time they have the beautiful Operasingers on the balcony?
They used to perform frequently without requiring a special event .

I don't think so. I was there in August when there were no Harbor Nights and as I was getting off the boat, one of the security officers told us the opera singers were about to sing. It was close to 8:30pm at the time. I wanted to get back to my room and didn't want to wait so I ended up missing the singers. I hope to catch it next week when I'm there. I'm leaving for Orlando in two days.
