Pop Century Room Renovations

We checked in last night and received the 60s building. Our room is brand new and we are the first to stay in it! I was very excited about that. They are still working on the 60s building. I see construction at the 70s as well.

Are you in Building 5 or Building 4? They are both in the '60s section.

That's great news!! Do you know if your entire building is open?

Does it appear that all of building 4 (also in the 60's) is now closed or does it appear some is still open? @HopperFan and I will update post 2 when we receive information from either yourself or someone else who is at Pop now.

if you don't mind me asking, what room category are you in?

UPDATE: My building (5) and building (4) are still being renovated.

All of building four appears to be complete. I will walk by and investigate. My building (5) is still being renovated along with all of the rooms in the 70s building facing the pool area
May I ask you to please take a look at the map in post 2?

The 70's section (Buildings 6 and 10, green exterior) was completed late in 2017 so those are not currently closed for refurbishment.

Building 5 (where I believe you are) was started late in 2017. Does your room number start with a 5 and have an orange exterior? Confirming that portions of your building are still under construction?

Building 4 (also in the 60's section, orange exterior buildings, facing your building) started their refurbishments in January. Many of the rooms in that building have not been closed for refurbishment yet so if you are seeing them as occupied then they are still open but not refurbished yet.

Thanks for your help!

I thought the 70s section was complete?

This is what I get for not drinking my coffee before replying :). DUH. Of course that's what she meant. Sigh. Off to the coffee machine!
You know, I actually read my post after submitting and thought “I wonder if they will think I’m only there for one day” lol. We have 5 nights but we only have one day that will be spent at the resort and we still have dah and a dinner adr at ohana that day so it’s not even a full day.

Hi! Sorry you are correct. 70s is complete and they are still working on both 60s buildings (4&5). I got in rather late yesterday and the building I thought was 70s was actually building 4 of 60s.
Thanks for clarifying! Have a great trip!

Hi, you are correct. The building I thought was 70s last night is actually 60s building 4. They are still working on both buildings in the 60s section.

Sorry, 1 more question @morganms22. Are you in a Preferred Pool View Room? Are the pool view rooms facing the Hippy Dippy Pool open?

Thanks so much! We will update post 2 to say that portions of Building 5 are now open!

poppool.jpg We had to make some shifts for our upcoming stay end of April into early May... We are now 'Standard Pool View' which makes us prime candidates to get put in the 1950s with a Bowling Pin pool under construction.

This is what I'm having touring plans request. I am thinking 4th floor since we have no kids with us, and no connecting room. Gives us best possible noise considerations in a renovated room. We are driving so looks to be close to parking lots.

Nope. Better chance of getting assigned to (completely reopened) buildings 7/8/9. Same number of standard pool view rooms as the 50s, which should be down a building in April - so, possibly 50% more SPV rooms in the more recent decades.

Ok. Be staying at Pop in August. I have 2 questions that I hope someone can help me with.
1. Do the new rooms have hair dryers, irons and ironing boards?
2. I’m a little concerned about the construction on the gondolas. Are we still able to walk along the lake? Has anyone found it out a damper on there stay at Pop?

(Ok so I have several questions, filed into 2 categories.)
TIA
