OFFICIAL CHRISTMAS HOLIDAY SEASON & NEW YEAR'S 2017 THREAD

Those garlands are beautiful! I have a couple of questions. Which fireworks run during the holiday season and are there different fireworks on New Years eve?

I am looking forward to the food booths at the Festival of Holidays in DCA. We went at Halloween last year, so we missed the first year this was offered over the holidays. Looking at what they had last year it all looks soooooo good!
I really enjoyed the food booths last year. They were pricey though I thought. But it seems they listened to feedback because during the food/wine festival they had this spring the prices seemed a bit lower.

Where would you go for a special Christmas Eve dinner and a Christmas night dinner if you were in the Parks those days?

We are going to be in the parks on Christmas Day and we are hoping to snag a Fantasmic dining package at BB. We arrive on Christmas Eve and we are not planning on going into the parks that day, so we are wanting to eat at Naples Restaurant in DTD.

Fireworks during the holiday season are "Believe in Holiday Magic". Not sure on NYE.

I hope the garlands return as well! Eventhough this will be our first holiday visit to Disneyland, I remember being disapointed a couple of years ago when they removed them. It would be such a nice surprise to have them back for our visit.

I am looking forward to this as well. Do they have a special pass where you can taste more than one item for a price or are they all sold individually? This will be my first time doing something like this so, I am completely clueless..lol

I know that during the spring one they had a passport that AP holders could buy. You paid a flat amount for it and I think it was good for like 8 food items. I ended up saving a little money that way. I don't remember if they had something similar during the holiday season or not.

plus, from what I have heard, when PTN does come back in 2018 it will be in DCA not DL.

BRING BACK THE GARLAND!!!!!!
I was really hoping for one last run at Disneyland before it heads over to California Adventure next year. Right now that doesn't look like it's going to happen.

Feel free to tune out my whining if we don't get Paint the Night or the garlands though.

I just keep thinking they need all of the entertainment they can get for peak Christmas crowds.

As you may remember...I have been dying to see PtN and keep missing it!! I thought FOR SURE it would be running during our Christmas trip but alas, it doesn't seem to be panning out again for me...wah wah wah

Thanks for the info. I guess we will have to wait and see. I am an AP holder so, this would work out if they offer it. :o

While I like the garland, I really want PTN back before 2018.

Same here, I know it’s going to DCA but I can’t help but think at least once a day please bring it back before 2018!

We love Carthay Circle, the decor is wonderful as well as the food. We also tried Wine Country Trattoria for the first time on our last trip and it was really amazing. I had the ribeye special which I think is now part of the main menu and for $32 it was beautiful, so flavoursome. Sitting outside on the terrace and hearing the excellent soundtrack they had for the Spring food festival. I dream about that day, one of our favourite Disney days ever! And one we will definitely be recreating for the holidays.

Yes I am really hoping they bring that back this year. Saved messing around with cash/card at each till and saved a couple of bucks.

Has anybody seen anything about the Thanksgiving offerings this year or when those reservations will start? I know they always go live later than 60 days, but with other things not being loaded in for Nov, I'm wondering if those will be greatly delayed. Really hoping to nab Storyteller's again.

Oh my goodness! How could I have forgotten about you? You got so hosed last year. I sure hope they bring it back, just for your sake!

This will be our 2nd time doing Christmastime at Disneyland! But we did early December last time we went...and we only had 1 kid. Now there will be 3! We will be going Dec. 27-Jan 1. How are the crowds during that time? And what's the big difference between NYE at Disneyland or DCA?! I'm so excited! I can't wait! Will they still be doing Viva Navidad or does it end on a certain date?

We will be there those same days too. Last time we went in Christmas was in 2013. We were there 19-24. I was a bit scared because they kept saying it was going to be insane. Not that it wasn't because it was but i still found it manageable. I had with me my mom 3 siblings ages 11,13, 21 and my self, DH, DD 6. We were there at rope drop every day and were able to get on mostly every ride we wanted to and lines were ok. We did use FP to help.

I have heard that it is more crowded now and during NYE, but i guess ill just have to find out for myself.

It will be crazy, but it will also be amazing.
