How to carry key to the world card?

Just wondering how everyone handles carrying around your key to the world card. Do you have a special holder? Something with a strap? Sorry, probably a stupid question, but this will be my first cruise.

Walet

We take everything we don't need (such as regular credit card) and only carry the minimum (CTTWC and Drivers License).

I got a holder at Walmart for 97 cents. It was with the men's wallets. A black strap with a clear plastic little holder for the card. They sell them on board with the DCL logo, but they are $6 or $7.

For my DH a wallet would work fine, but I was hoping that there would be some kind of plastic holder, sort of like what passporter sells, that you could conveniently carry. Also, what do you do about your children carrying the cards? Do you allow them to carry them, or just leave the cards in the room?

I would think you would want the kids to carry cards (it's their room key if nothing else), but make sure they are either VERY responsible, or make sure you revoke their charging privleges as soon as you get on board.

The last time we sailed, I had to see guest services about something and over heard the conversation of the lady next to me. Apparently this ladie's son decided to make friends by buying everyone tokens in the gameroom. We had only been on board for maybe 2 hours (any we were some of the first in line to board) and he had already racked up something like $120 in charges on his card.

I would suggest checking out the walet and purse section of Wal-Mart. You might find something at least close enough to what you are looking for.

I don't know where you would get them (other than I'm sure DCL sells them on board) but I have seem these ID badge holders that you wear around your neck. Maybe something like that would work for you.

I strongly recommend a card carrier that you can purchase on the ship for $5.00. I'm not into souvenirs, but I knew ahead of time that this would be my only one (other than photos).

It's watertight, it will hold your KTTW, a driver's license, some cash, and your kids' cards. There's a larger size that could hold approximately a deck of cards. My wife got this one. It was $8 at Mickey's Mates.

If you don't want to wear it around your neck, the string detaches easily and the case can fit in your pocket.

If you detach the string properly, it can also double as a really cool sling (ala David and Goliath) to be hurled at anything on the cruise that you don't like. I recommend using it during "Hercules, the Muse-ical".

We punched a hole in my DD's with a hole punch. Borrowed one from guest services. They used a bungie key chain hooked to their belt loop or around their neck.

We got the 97 cent lanyards at Walmart...we used them a little bit.

The best buy we found was the $7 leather travel wallet at walmart. It held the KTTW cards, the credit cards we use for travel and our id...very thin...fit right in hubbys pocket at dinner time, etc, or easily carried in our backpack when we were off the ship.

Thanks everyone for your "Wonder"ful advice. I'll check out Walmart and go from there. My concern about my children's carrying the card with them is not that they will spend too much, they will get that lecture before we board, but more of a concern that they would misplace it. So I guess I'll purchase cardholders for the bunch of us!!!!!

I bought the pass carriers from www.passporter.com--they were wonderful and had many, many features that other holders did not have. I was able to carry money, my passport, my KTTW card, and excursion tickets all in one secure place that was very convenient to get in and out of.

Wondered how a fanny pack would go over carrying all the little things needed, IE: Key card, Maybe its too big a thing to be hanging on your waist?

Just a thought!:teeth:

I love the WalMart lanyards.
Best deal around.......Under a dollar.

Where is the cheapest place to find a Disney Autograph book?

A more versatile case is a dry box. These wallet sized cases (with a lanyard) can carry several cards (KTTY & credit), plus cash, keys, change, etc.

They latch shut and are waterproof (you can swim/snorkle/dive with them). They are also small enough to fit in your pocket.

We find them much more convenient, secure, and fashionable than the KTTY card holders mentioned above (and yes we even bought the $0.98 Walmart variety but didn't use them).

Here is just one source, but we got ours on eBay for $2.99 shipped:

They had some of these (DCL branded) on ship (cost ???) and you can also get them at RonJon's in Cocoa Beach for about $6

I just looked at the dry boxes on the web site. They look identical to the ones sold on the ship sans DCL logo.

I really like those dry boxes at witzprod.com. I like the fact that they are waterproof. I may just have to order 4 of those. Thanks everyone!!!!!!!!!!

LAMPSKIES...really liked your idea with the bungee key chain/hole punch! I have the larger case I bought on board last time but it seems bulky and bought it more for during excursions. Being a meeting planner, I have heavy duty id holders/wallets but I like your idea and so did my DH...and he's the one I have to worry about losing it!

Im buying my toddler a cheap lanyard and for me im going to use my work reel chord
Im already used to having it daily

A lot of people opt for lanyards w/ a clear plastic pocket. One could pick up fairly inexpensive Disney themed lanyards at places like Michaels, Party City, etc.

Personally I prefer a pocket. If I don't have pockets, I use DH's pocket.
