Half Portions For Seniors?

Do any of the Disney restaurants offer half-portions for seniors? It seems like the Disney thing to do.
I'm sure they'd be happy to serve a half-portion. But I don't think they'll give you any break on the price.

Seriously, you can always split an entree and ask for a second plate. That's probably the best you could do.

At most table service restaurants where you order from a menu you can share with someone in your group or take your leftovers for another meal in your room.

You can also order from the children's menu or order an appetizer instead of a full sized entree.

Great options to have and to know about. Thanks for that contribution.

Maybe this is way off base, but... Disney already drops off purchases to the guest's room (at least they used to), would they also deliver doggie bags?
Like I said, maybe this is way off base.

Package delivery from the stores is now sent to the gift shop at your resort and is available for pick up the next day. It is delivered to your room only if you are staying club level.

They will not deliver doggie bags, but even if they did since it won't be there until the next day you probably wouldn't want to eat it anyway. In fact, even from the stores if you purchase any food items, even the prepacked items, you will have to take them with you because they won't deliver them to your resort.

Not as far as I know.

So I guess the DDP option is out.

I think the DDP works well for seniors if they want to split a meal. My DDIL and I have traveled together and we buy the DDP. We split meals and use the additional credits on a signature meal. For CS meals we often will split a breakfast platter at our resort, or an entree in BOG( I love this place for breakfast) and then again we split for lunch. You get two snacks now instead of having to order dessert so that also stretches the credits.

Dining can taking planning, but if you like smaller portions yu can make the plans work for you by adding signature meals.

This is huge. We don't do desserts (unless awesome!), so a forced dessert was cutting into the value of DDP. The two snacks is a good alternative for us.

The two snacks is against CS. There is no separating out a TS dessert.

My experience is that most restaurants have senior specials at specific times to fill seats. Disney doesn't need to do such things.

The desserts are included in table service meals, I should have specified that it is cs meals that no longer include desserts.

We've traveled to the world with my mother who has a very small appetite. She usually just ordered off the kids menu or split her meal with me or my daughter and that worked out great

Only issue with the kids menu is it's quite limited compared to the choices on the adult menu. If it appeals to you that's great but I can't think of very many of them that have extensive lists of choices.

Splitting meals is the best way to get a half portion. We do doggie bags at home but never at Disney. I just leave it. I don't want to cart around food and I'm not going to send it to the front for pick up later either. After sitting around for how long?

I also like to order Apps as my meal. Or a side salad and another side item also makes a good meal at some locations. There are tons of ways to eat smaller meals

Disney has no mechanism in place for people who want to eat a smaller meal. It is what it is and the prices are the prices and most restaurants are booked up well in advance.

As others have pointed out kid meals are an option (but imo often blech and not something I'd want to eat), or ordering apps as your main (much better options), splitting, or just eating what you want and leaving it. I will be doing a combo of these on my upcoming trip.

Liberty Tree Tavern is one good option to order kids meals because they have both turkey and pot roast. Sci Fi also has a kid size cheeseburger. Teppan Edo has kid portions of the main meals. I'm sure there are others but those are some on my list where the kid meals are kind of just smaller versions of what is offered on the adult menu.

You can share on the DDP as long as it is not a buffet, character, or show - DH and I Have shared QS before - there are several place where you can get a HUGE QS meal and share it

For those who've ordered kids' meals, have you ordered at Disney TS restaurants? I've ordered kids' meals at many CS restaurants but haven't tried it at TS
