DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Have a supercalifrajulisticexpealidocious day all

I think you spelled it wrong.

You going friday or saturday mate? How long does it take you to get there?

Leaving Sat at 2:00 AM. Should arrive around 2:00 -3:00 PM. A long drive.

Weather down here cannot be better. Mid 80's all week relatively low humidity with just a chance of showers. Enjoy the pool.
?

Yes, looking forward to it.

Not thinking the DW was gonna let that happen
1.

I doubt that either. It sounded funny.

Happy to say I fixed the washing machine all by my lonesome. Drains are clear, hoses cleaned and just finished the sanitizing cycle. Looks as good as new. Now on to the car which stalled out a couple of times. If it isn't one thing... This one, I will not touch. My mechanical skill goes as far as opening at the hood and staring at the engine.
Good job with the washer. As for the car, it sounds like you have about the same mechanical ability as me. I can insert and turn the key and put gas in the tank. Anything else, I just hand someone my credit card and tell them to make the problem go away.

Evening gents. Dinner tonight is meatloaf, mashed taters and steamed green beans. Drooling in anticipation.

After staring at it, just reach in and start shaking things. I think that is the next step.

Happy Thursday. I've got a phone meeting at one job today and then over to the other. Days just seem getting longer. Youngest dd lost her HS singles match, but won her doubles match. Oldest played doubles for jv and lost both matches. But, I think my oldest just played tennis to wear the tennis skirt. :headache:

I went to the gym and played tennis yesterday and am really sore. I guess I'm getting too old for that......

Good luck with the drive mate. The mis-spelling is a cryptic reference to earlier thread topics. Well done for spotting it. You have upper management potential.

Not even close to management material. Thanks for the vote of confidence.

Morning boys. Half day today, and that's me done for the week.

Calling it early then. I'll join you as soon as I can.

After staring at it, just reach in and start shaking things. I think that is the next step.

Are you still talking about shaking the dangling appendage? I think that's frowned upon, especially in public places. :lmao:

Hey at least everyone is out playing.

LOL

Whoo hoo. We are calling it early.
Indeed we are Cliff. That's it boys. Work over. All out. Last one in the bar has to clean out Dumbo's cage in the morning. And he went to Chipotle for lunch. What's everyone having? Mike gets free beers for the next 2 months.

Top O the Mornin Dads and Happy Friday Eve! Getting ever closer to NHL Playoff time.....................
Should I be looking out for a tie fighter? :lmao:

That is a lot if excitement rolled into one. Thankfully, you'll be done in two more months. Prayers for you
Always be looking out for Tie Fighters and thanks for the support.
:rotfl:
That's gotta be exciting and nerve racking at the same time. You get to pick the drinks on Friday call for the next 2 months.

Evening boys, from a clear but chilly London. As a country we collectively told Europe to do one today, so there's something for the history books.
I will do my best with calling the drinks and will try to make it early enough as to not delay your starts to the weekend. Good luck with the historic decision you guys made.

Suggest you hide bottles of your favorite liquor around the house. That way you will only be a few feet from tranquilizers. Serious congratulations on both counts. I don't know if I was ever prouder of the Pirate Princess when she walked across the stage to get her diploma. As to your second event, I can wait a few years.

Did you use the two finger salute?
Nice work on the washing machine and food prep - I agree with the car thing too. No need to hide the bottles, they are out in plain site and looking forward to all the goings on only that her graduation seems like it is getting a bit overshadowed. You should be proud of the PP, you've done a helluva job there Dad. Regarding the two finger salute, a measurement tool for a bourbon pour?

With both hands, buddy. With both hands.
:rotfl2:and enjoy your long weekend!

Yep, that is a long drive. Even worse I imagine on the way back.

Yes, looking forward to it.

No doubt.

I can also put oil in it but that is about it.

Agreed. Mike, ket me know if you escape and make it down here, I'll buy.

Still recommending hiding the bottles so the rest of the family won't steal your stash. I can see the overshadowing feeling. Kind of like having a birthday right near Christmas.

With both hands, buddy. With both hands.

Regarding the two finger salute, a measurement tool for a bourbon pour?

You've seen the V for Victory salute they used during WWII or the Peace Sign during the 60's. The two finger salute is the same except your palm faces you. From my Brit dive buddy: Lore has it that it comes from the Battle of Agincourt during the 100 Years War. The French hated the British Longbow-men so much, when they captured one, they would chop off those two fingers so they could no longer pull back their bowstring. Despite being far outnumbered at Agincourt the long bow was so effective, the British routed the French. As the French retreated, the Bowmen wagged their two fingers to say Bugger Off (remember family board), I still have my fingers.

Thought it was an interesting piece of British history and good to know if you walk into a British pub. Dan feel free to correct any inaccuracies.

If you've seen the movie Wild Hogs, they used the two finger salute. In the TV version, instead of blurring out the middle finger they gave the bikers after they got the bike back, they used CGI to show the two fingered version. Thought it was clever.

So ends the history lesson and since the week was called, I need a run to the store to replenish stock. Have a good weekend guys.

Only 2? Is there a war on? When did we start rationing?
That's two per glass...
Pretty sure there's no limit on the number of glasses.

Oh, by the way
Howdy all!

It's about time I started getting back over to this pub more often.

! Getting ever closer to NHL Playoff time.....................
A Chicago double on the cards? All we need is the 31 other teams to leave the NFL and the bears have at least a shot of making it next year.....

I suspect if I went to the gym I would be really sore too. So I figure, why tempt fate....

What's everyone having?
Captain Morgan Spiced for me. I suppose you might need a drink or two after all the goings on over in the mother country, eh?

Getting ever closer to NHL Playoff time.....................
I'm looking forward to it. At least it looks like there will be a few Canadian teams in it this year for me to root for.

Oh, by the way
Howdy all!
Nice to see you back here, Rob. You've missed a bit over the last while. There's been snowblowing, motorboating, dangling appendages, a few glasses tipped. I can't remember what else, but the usual hijinks.

I think you're right mate. Stock up on the Canadian club. We're re-connecting with our commonwealth brethren. I'll be over in a few hours.

Safe travels my friend.

Pop on on for a scotch or two, that if an Englishman is still allowed to drink scotch.
