World of color dessert party?!

That happened to me in December, too. I thought it was very odd for a paid event. I was hoping they'd be over it. Oh, well, I guess I'll elbow my way through the crowds again tonight.
Do you get a lanyard with "credentials" such as the ones you get at the WDW parties? What if the kids need to use the restroom, is it easy to get to it (I may really be overthinking this)!

Yes, you're overthinking this! :) Don't worry, CMs deal with kids needing potty breaks every day. They know how to handle this. Just tell the CMs where you are going and they'll tell you what to do. With the Preferred Dining areas, CMs give you back your FP when you exit the area and you give it back when you re-enter. It wouldn't surprise me if the Dessert Party has a similar system in place.

Question for those that have seen this show multiple ways...

Is the show more impressive when you can see the bottom of the fountains? It seems as though the dessert party has a good view of the projections, but because of the people in front of you, you don't see the full height of the fountains, etc. Does this matter?

Comparing the "wet zone" or the bridge railing to dessert party, which one is better? I'm interested in strictly hearing about the view, putting waiting time, dessert, seats, etc. totally aside.

I've done the wet zone, the middle tiers and the dessert party.

Just my personal preference, but the "wet zone" wins for me hands down. Don't get me wrong. It was grand to relax in our chairs and watch. But I felt more disconnected without seeing the bottom of the fountains. We'll be up front and center next time.

Fully concur with 'mon2rtk' - my thoughts exactly. Whilst the dessert party was great I am undecided whether we would do it again this year.
Great to have a seat and all but our view the year before was definitely better - we weren't right on the water but the next 'tier' up and at the railing. Still in the 'wet zone' but just that little further back but it is raised up quite a bit there from the very front and we had a completely unimpeded view and not 'too' much water spray.
At the DP you very much do have that sea of people in front of you that does impede a little on your view of the lower down part of the show. We still enjoyed it but I definitely feel view was better with the FP - you do have to get there earlier though to get that view on the railing. I think we lined up at ~ 7.15 - 7.30pm for the 9pm show.

I have 3 possible dates to go to WOC Dessert Party.

Friday 7th July, Saturday 8th July or Sunday 9th July.

What are my chances I've waiting until we arrive to decide which night we go. Is there any chance at all off tickets still being available or do I just have to pick a date a book in advance.

Those will all be pretty busy days, I'd imagine, due to July 4 falling the week before. I don't know your situation, but one option would be to book it for all three nights, and cancel as you get closer and decide. The obvious downside here is that it's pre-paid, and you'd have to rely on getting refunds for the nights that you cancel.

How many are in your party? If you are a smaller group, e.g. party of 2 adults, then you might be able to wait. If you are a larger group, I would go ahead and choose a date to reserve your spots. As the pp said, those will be busy dates, so you risk having the Dessert Party sell out. We were a party of 2 and were able to book the last day of the holiday show the day before, but I assume that was because someone must have cancelled their reservation. Normally, I wouldn't leave something like the Dessert Party to the last minute. Our show did sell out, so we were lucky to get seats.

We went last night for the first time and loved it! We were all given a wristband so I think it will be more than fine. I will say they bring the kids out a drink in a really cool cup that lights up and between that and the show I didn't see any kids get up. You're going to have a great time!

We weren't certain which days we wanted. I made two reservations and canceled the later reservation. You have 24 hours to cancel. If you really want to do the dessert party then letting Disney have your money for a few months isn't a big sacrifice for the peace of mind.

If I make the booking on the website or through the app is it an easy process to cancel the booking or do I need to call to cancel the booking.

Hi everyone. I'd love some advice. Our park days are Sunday May 28, Monday May 29 (Memorial Day), Tuesday May 30 (Grad night) and Wednesday May 31 (Grad night). I am for sure that I want to book a World of Color Dessert Party, but don't know which day would work best. Any thoughts on the best night or nights to avoid would be appreciated. Thanks!!!

It is too early to check but they may not offer it on Grad Nights.

Just wanted to feedback on this after we did it last week.

It was amazing, one of the best special events we have done with Disney. We were seated on table 3 lower and had a excellent view. People are allowed to stay stand in front of you - they must have been the fastpass or dining package guests but it didn't hamper our view at all.

Desserts were lovely and our drinks were kept topped up. I really wanted the kids cup :)

We are visiting Disneyland again during the Christmas season and will definitely be booking this again for the WOC Christmas overlay. Expensive but very much worth it we found.

It is easy to cancel if you do so more than 24 hours prior. I've done that before. This past time, I looked the day before and it said I had to call to cancel. I wasn't going to cancel, but did notice that I would have had to call when in the past I've been able to cancel online. I think it was because it was so close to the actual event.

I'm doing this on Mother's Day. It's a huge expense for sure on top of an already expensive trip but given that my wife is running the Tink half marathon earlier in the day, it seems like a no-brainer to allow her the chance to sit for the show with our kids. I think as the kids get older, I'd lean away from the dessert package but, for now, I'll save their toddler legs from standing too long.

Is there an AP discount for this package? DH will be getting a Deluxe AP this year as he will be taking our daughter on a 1 on 1 trip in June and going again with me in Aug for our 25th anniversary. Trying to decide if he should start out with the AP or get a 4 day pass for the EE and then upgrade. If there is an AP discount for the dessert seating I assume he cannot get it without an activated pass???

Does anyone have an image, or can give me a description of the gluten free plate? I hear its mostly cheese and fruit (possibly a sorbet?) but wasn't 100% sure. My mom isn't gluten intolerant but cannot eat a lot of fat due to another medical condition, so I figured that would probably be the safer bet instead of the usual desserts. I mainly am interested in the seating, but definitely don't want to make her feel bad by plopping a bunch of dessert in front of her that she can't eat.
