Why are they doing paper vouchers ? when they have magicbands?

It is a test for one so they don't want to code the system to only take a certain one before 4pm and another after 4. Plus as someone else mentioned this is being marketed to people buying same day tickets so they are less likely to be staying onsite and thus less likely to have a free magic band. If this sticks around I imagine they'll pay for the coding to make it work with the magicband.

Isn't this mainly for people who stay offsite? Maybe I read the first story wrong, but they don't get Magic Bands, unless they pay for them.

Disney will introduce a new one-day quick service dining plan at Magic Kingdom

They are testing a new idea, they will not invest money to add it to their system until they know if they are keeping it.

It's actually not uncommon for a non-electronic version of somethign to be the way they test it..

Whether they have a magic band is irrelevant. Everyone has a ticket, and those can be read the same as a band at a payment scanner.

The new meal plan doesn't follow the same rules as the normal plan, so it's unlikely they would or could code the system to handle it.

They system can be coded. If I've learned anything working for an IT company the question is not really can we do it but more is it really worth it to do it.

They haven't been able to overcome the child/adult issue for quick service credits. Those are clearly differentiated with this new offering. They'd have to completely overhaul the system, which they've been unwilling to do so far. I can't imagine they'd overhaul the system for a trial program.

I have a feeling it is because they don't care enough to do it more then they don't know how. Again a lot is not what IT can do just what you are willing to pay to get it done. TS works fine between child and adult so clearly QS could as well but it doesn't make as much money difference when it is burgers and chicken fingers conspire to steaks and burgers.
