Varies year-to-year but last year AP discounts that cover September came out 6/20. General public discounts came out 4/25.

This is a good website to follow for this kind of stuff: https://www.mousesavers.com/historical-information-on-walt-disney-world-resort-discounts/#2016

AP discounts tends to come out frustratingly late for planning purposes. I tend to follow the general public discount and book that for what I want - then switch to the AP discount (or cancel and rebook altogether) depending on the circumstances.

Hope that helps.

I sure hope they are better than the discounts that came out yesterday. I'm really disappointed with them. Rooms are way more than our last few AP rate stays

What months does the one that was just released cover?

for real ... i saved less than fifty cents for my next trip compared to the PIN codes I received ...

We saved substantially with an AP discount at POR and YC. I'm still in the black with the upgrade and TIW. Though, TIW is on the fence with the anniversary AP discounts until I do the math. Some resorts offer better discounts than others for various reasons. You certainly can't count on it having a big impact. Still, 25-35% at some resorts is a surprise when you take into account the past discounts.

PINs are a mystery. There isn't a rhyme or reason to them.

Was it better the year before?
I thought that in 2015 in August that I got my In laws a 35 or 40% off of a 1 BR Villa @ BWV...:confused3 I guess they vary yr. to yr.

How do people get these PIN codes!? We've been going to Disney since 06 and I swear I've never received one

You have to have a registered account on the WDW website I believe. And the best way for me always ( in the past ) was to book a mock vacation for what & where I wanted to go. Just to generate activity& possible pins....Sometimes we got cards sent to us, & think some emails, but I remember a CM telling me sometimes nothing is sent..
So what I would suggest is calling CRO & inquiring about a trip, and ask them if there is a pin code associated w/ your account...Can't hurt?:confused3

I've only, ever got Nothing. Hence, the no rhyme or reason. Of course, we have iffy luck (nothing awful but nothing wonderful, very middle of the road kind of luck) and never win anything.

Sorry to hear that...Maybe things will change for you...

Well We bought into DVC after finally realizing that we can get our savings right off the bat......Meaning what we've paid already vs. what we would've paid from 2011 till now, is definitely a lot less.... Add in all the perks we saved on as well..With the TiW discounts to the 2012 AP discount, & the 2014 PAP Discount, to the the % savings on other things.
Maybe this is something to consider? For you have control of the savings depending on how many more times you'll visit..:confused3

Oh, I'm not moon-y about it-LOL! I didn't want the other poster to think that playing around on the website and pretending to make reservations would bring a UOC code to their doorstep. It's random and not dependent on "interest". I'm not saying to ignore the advice, either, because I certainly haven't. But, my noodling on the websites for the last 5 years hasn't brought out the pixie dust.

I found that the AP discounts didn't cover every day at the resorts covered. So on day ABC there was not an AP discount, but on day XYZ there was. So I had to be flexible but it still worked out for me.
