Good evening! I just wanted to pop in to say "hi"

I'm beginning planning my first ever Disney trip for myself, my husband and our daughter. I'm a little overwhelmed but excited. We're hoping to go late Feb / early March 2018. I am anxious to get planning!!!

:welcome:to the Dis! Lots of help available, so feel free to start posting questions! I'd also suggest Mousesavers.com and The Unofficial Guide to WDW as great resources to give you a good foundation.

Thanks for the welcome!!! Mousesavers is how I found myself here :P

I've been lurking around here for about a week, but needed someone other than my already-annoyed husband to bounce things off of. I'm so anxious for the 2018 rates to be released so I can pin down a date and resort. Everything still feels so up in the air!

Yes, many hubbies and friends are not thrilled to hear about the planning on a regular basis, so you will enjoy it here where we totally get it and are always planning the next trip, at least in our minds!:earsboy:. The good thing is while you are waiting, you have time to do lots of research!

You can check out the resorts forum, where there is a thread for each one, and you can see pics and info. to help you see what you like. On Mousesavers you can see( if you haven't yet), the resorts listed by category and current room rates to give you an idea of what to expect and what the "seasons" are for least and most expensive times. There is also a chart of historical discounts so you can see when these have been offered in the past - who knows what this yr will bring, but it is something to check out.

Hey! I recently just found the Dis Boards too. Seems like a lot of fun goes on around here!

The look on that dogs face is hilarious.

I've been a long time lurker. I'm just now posting. I'm going with my 23-year-old son in January of 2018! Can't wait! It'll be our 4th trip to WDW but the last time we went was in 2008...in other words, forever ago! Does anybody happen to know when they'll release pricing for January of 2018?

If planning is too much for you/overwhelming, consider a travel adviser (Dreams Unlimited would be the agency that runs with the Dis). Most important thing to remember is it's a vacation, don't let it stress you too much. But there are a ton of people with a lot of knowledge that love to help, so never hesitate to ask. Even ones you think would be mundane, ask it to make sure. By the way, Port Orleans is amazing, great choice.

I've actually recently hooked up with a great TA! We're going to be booking our room only coming in the next month or so with her! I'm so excited.

Good luck on your planning. Looking forward to many posts by you.

Thanks! I'm sure I will get less lurker-y and more active the closer we get!!!

Welcome!! I new here as well. I have been to Disneyland quite a few times, as I am only an hour drive. I've recently begun planning for a Disney World vacation for next year, which I am beyond excited about!
