***1st Week of December Thread ADR Plans, Park Hours, and dealing with Pop Warner***

You guys can look on TP to see availability of SDFP. I have been convinced of them being extremely useful since I found out about them.

Just make sure when you buy them that they are unlinked.... I've heard of CM trying to be helpful when you buy then on site wanting to link them for you. They need to be linked to a phantom account... either another name on your MDE or a second MDE .
I choose all yellow bands for the SDFP. They will be linked to phantoms on my MDE

Okay, so my question is...how exactly does the second set of MBs become linked to the phantoms? Please, if you could talk slowly that would help so much! :)

I'm a total newb. Not an expert by any means but that's my understanding as well. Once a MB is linked to a profile, there is no way to unlink it.

When making your "real" (60 day) FPs did you make FP reservations for your toddler as well? For example if you are a family of 3, (2 adults, 1 toddler). Did you make a FP for 2 people or 3? I'm actually not sure if you have to count a toddler when making FPs. I know when making ADRs you DO have to account for any toddlers because of seating, fire codes, etc. I'm just not sure if the same rules apply to FP.

Anyhow, if you only made FPs for 2adults in above scenario, then your toddler's MB could be used for SDFP.
I've read I should make the FP for 2 adults only. Toddlers (under 3) do not need the FP and cannot make FP because they do not have tickets. So they are available for SDFP only.

The only thing is, I'm stuck after that... (LOL) I'm not sure what happens when you go to the kiosk and load the SDFP. I have read that you can take a picture of the screen when making it to keep track so in essence, you don't really need the phantom profile?? I think... Is the phantom profile basically used for viewing purposes only? I've read that you cannot make changes to the SDFP except at the kiosk too? Can anyone verify? (Maybe @Lisa F ? :))

I think you would link it manually to the phantom... (and I've read you can't unlink) But again, my question would be, what is the phantom profile exactly for? Viewing / keeping track of the FP only?

EDIT: so for those who have borrowed their MBs from a friend, that means you cannot link it to a phantom, right? (since they are linked to their original owners?)

I get the basic gist I think but some details hasn't quite sank in with me yet... LOL! So since I'm too chicken to ask on the SDFP thread... has anyone tried using SDFP with a toddler's band? I have my toddler's bands which I read I could use it for SDFP. But they are linked to my toddler so even if we have 2 resort reservations, they will be clones and is usable for one set of SDFP... My question is since it's linked to my toddler already (and not to phantoms), how will I manage this? Are you able to use SDFP without phantoms? I thought that if you link magic bands to a profile, they are forever linked to that profile?
they are a little intense over there.

I THINK the toddler bands would both link to the same person so you need one phantom and one more band. You would NOT be able to make 60day FP+ for them because they are not linked to ticket media because the 2 yo does not need a ticket. You do not need to scan a FP+ for him going on the rides either. But you WOULD be able to use the band and the account to make SDFP because that system doesn't care what your stats are. no ticket, same rules for everyone no matter what age. I am not 100% sure though that the MB will work. that might be a question to ask, i did not see it in the faq

viewing only and also to keep your stuff together all in one place. And even then it sometimes doesn't load on MDE so ALWAYS take a pic.

You cannot unlink any MEDIA once it has been linked. media = ticket cards or magic bands. You CAN reassign tickets even after they have been linked but your ticket cards don't go with it. ticket cards stay with whomever they were originally linked to. you can move around admission entitlements as much as you want and it will be redeemable only through whatever media is linked to that profile (30 clone magic bands or whatever)

We're bringing DD8 and DS2.
We will be using extra MB for SDFP. I don't have expectations of getting any of the tier 1 or popular rides but if we do, great. We're hoping to use them for the rides for our 2yo. Things like Dumbo, Triceratops spin, etc. These rides usually don't have crazy standby lines but if we can use a SDFP rather than wait even 20 minutes in regular standby line, then it's worth it to me.
I'm confused. Having an extra MB won't get you more FP's, especially traveling with a child under the age of 3. The child doesn't need a ticket.

my plan is pretty simple but it is because there are just two of us and I am in control. We have our "vanity" MBs (mine is dooney and bourke, kiddo is bb8). we have our "backup" mbs which are there only in case of loss so I don't have to buy to replace. and then we have our phantoms - mine will be red and decorated for xmas and his will be orange and decorated for xmas. Won't be hard to keep track of as it's just the two of us. The phantoms will have our second set of 60 day FP+ before the xmas party and be used for SDFP the rest of the time.

Once you have second set (of unlinked) MBs in hand. Choose one of the following:

1. Log into your original MDE account and "create" new people. So if you are a family of 4. You would create 4 MORE people for a total of 8 people You can use made up names like Gertrude McGillicuddy, Ben Dover, Lou Stewell, etc. You get the idea. Have some fun with it. Then look at the second set of MBs and you will see a serial# on each one. On MDE, assign MBs one at a time by entering serial #s on bands and link them to fake names.

2. Create a completely different MDE profile using a different email address from your original MDE account. Enter 4 names. They can be fake names or if you want to keep it simple you can use your families middle names as their fake first names. Then just assign second set of MBs the same as above.

By the way, I have no shortage of fake names if anyone needs help coming up with one :jester:

I think @Lisa F answered your question. You won't be able to make FP in advance because 2 year olds do not have tickets. If you are staying onsite, they will receive a magic band too. This magic band can be used to book SDFP at the kiosk in the park. :) Hope that clarifies!

I love this! all those fake names are awesome!

Thanks a million @Party.Of.4-NY>>>FL!! That was just my speed. Informative and hilarious is a great combination! ;)

Ahh! I think I have a slightly clearer picture now! Thanks for confirming this. :) If it's for viewing purpose only, I would just go ahead and not create a phantom. Will probably just take a picture :D

What's SDFP?

And why would you book a FP for a 2 year old? Why not just book it with one parent?

Yes true child doesn't need a ticket. But if I want take DS2 on Dumbo ride using a FP, I would in fact need a FP to enter FP line. That's where SDFP comes into play. I don't want to use one of my 3 (adult) FPs for Dumbo. Therefore I would use SDFP for that. Not sure if I answered your question.

you have to create a phantom. whether it is on your MDE or a different MDE is up to you but you have to create a phantom somehow. A MB has to be linked to SOMETHING to be able to be used for SDFP. unlinked won't work.

Yes, I would be able to use my toddler's for one set. I need another magic band for us to be able to ride as a family.

lol. i just used our middlenames and lastnames. too bad i missed my chance at ben dover

Wow, it would never even occur to me to buy an additional MB, make a new MDE account, just so my child under 3 could have a FP. It just doesn't sit well with me. Almost feels like it's cheating the system.
