Disney Gift Card Deals

Hmm, I see what you are saying for sure. I'll certainly give this some thought as I'm definitely getting antsy for rolling 60 days to move along so I can use my ebay cards again, lol! Just the other day I was getting excited for this coming Monday so I could make some churing moves and now I'm just making crummy exit moves. Pretty disappointing I missed a couple good promos the last few weeks not able to spend the gc's!

Still wondering if anyone knows if I make an ebay purchase on DD26's ebay account but pay with my paypal, as I often did when purchasing the gc's on ebay, will the receipt then be listed in her name cause it was her ebay account, or my name since it's my Paypal and if I were having the package delivered it would be coming to my address. I'd like to pay with my account so I can be the one making the exchange in the store. I'm thinking that yes, it will be in my name, but just wondering if anyone knows for sure. TIA!

when I have purchased from best buy in the past from ebay store it didn't give me the option to change the pick up person but check it might have changed

ok so been away for the last two months and finally caught up.

mid june right after an ebucks deal mine and DH's paypal accts were permanently limited. Just wish paypal would state no gc for gc purchases. Had purchased best buy and game stop incase anyone was wondering. So long story short tried to order using a new paypal and that didn't work.

so now just going to use my swagbucks for visa that way I can go to any online store and make a purchase.

My question for you guys does any cash back portals give you credit for buying disney gift cards? thanks for all your help and I truly hope no one gets permanently limited from paypal its really caused trouble thats for sure

Buying Disney cards from Best Buy should allow you to earn rebates and/or rewards, especially if you're not using Best Buy gift cards.

ETA: If you have a Sam's Club membership, however, you'd be much better off cashing in your SB for Walmart gift cards so you can buy the discounted cards at Sam's Club.

Okay folks, so I have roughly $600 in Target gift cards. How would you redeem them now that the churn game is mostly gone?

Immediately exchange them for Disney? Walgreens? eBay and then do the buy from Target/return for cash deal?

Assuming your end goal is Disney GCs, I would use your Target GCs to purchase Disney GCs in-store.

I don't see any of the options you proposed providing you with any further discount (aside from potentially eBay Bucks if you went Target GCs > eBay GCSs > Target from eBay > Target return).

In my opinion, all you're opening yourself up to is (1) headache and (2) potential that you pursue an avenue that closes before you cash out.

Can anyone explain to me the Best Buy gift card situation? I have scrolled back several weeks, but am not seeing a concrete explanation of how it works. Google doesn't pop up anything either.

Do you actually use the gift cards to purchase them, or is it an even exchange, ie, you leave it in the package and just hand it over to them and switch it out?

I love the thrill of risk as much as the next guy, but that doesn't mean I would go vacation in a war zone with shells flying overhead and buildings crumbling around me. The signs are everywhere. If you are in a position that allows you to cash out to your end goal (Disney or other gift cards you are working towards) get out now!

Yeah, I think that's probably what I'm going to do.

Purchase a Visa card, take a hit on activation, but scout out Raise, Cardpool, etc? Still probably too risky?

Either that or buy Disney plus a little of this a little of that.

You won't be able to purchase a Visa card with your Target GCs, if that's what you're proposing.

I may have misunderstood.

I am planning on opening the new Chase Sapphire Reserve credit card. It is a step above the Sapphire that I have. It has a hefty yearly fee of $450 BUT you get a $300 travel credit yearly (so could use it x2 = $600 in first year). Plus it comes with 100,000 UR points which is valued at more that 1K and some other great stuff. I have 77K in UR now so with this I can pay off my March trip.

Advice needed please! I have $175 in rewards for gift cards through a work wellness program and have a Disney trip I need to pay off. Should I get BB to convert to Disney or Walmart to Sam's Club to Disney? If I do Sam's Club I have to order online (my store does not carry Disney gc). I've never bought gift cards at Sam's Club slot BB so I'f love to hear what you all think. Thanks!

Yeah, when i was looking at the page, I saw wherever says you had to be the pick up person and didn't see option to put in an alternate name, that's why i was wondering about the name on the receipt.

I thought they didn't give any rewards in purchasing gc's (eBay, Disney), with BB gift cards. But I got an email that i have a $5 rewards to use by mid Oct. Today i went into my account to see if I could tell where I got the rewards from but I couldn't. But I found there is another $5 rewards card to be used the week before the one I got an email for. The only thing i bought there in the last six months has been gift cards with gc's. I put my rewards in the first couple times but then stopped because supposedly you can't get rewards for that. Although when I was trading in games for BB gc's, they had my rewards number and I took those gc's and bought eBay gc's(wish I woulda waited till I needed them, I wouldn't have to be purchasing thru BB eBay store). Maybe that's where they came from? But still, that was gc's for gc's.

At first I thought you could do the target gc's get eBay, buy at target thru eBay. But when you return the item, they take back the ebucks anyway for a return so no point there, and that choice was mainly for getting out not churning and you already have your cards out of eBay gc's. Plus I'd just get the Disney gc's as that was what you were using them to churn for in the first place.

thanks I'lll check into trying to order them off best buys actual website not through ebay :-) we have a bjs no sams near us. wish I could find bjs cards at a discount.

The only thing they need to pick up is the order number and the name. I would think that name is from ebay and not paypal as paypal is processing the payment but the acutal order is through ebay. hope that helps. there is a section to send the seller a note so maybe you can put a note in that so and so is picking up this order. its worth a shot and if you can't pick it up hopefully your DD is near you and can pick it up.

I'll get to the point. You have an easy, direct "out" -- Target GC --> Disney GC. Use it before even that option is closed.

To my knowledge, Target does not sell Walgreens GC, and even if they did what's the point? You won't gain any meaningful bonus or rebate from the extra step in Target>Walgreens>Disney, when you can just do Target>Disney.

If you're going to use your Target GC to buy eBay GCs, then use the eBay GCs to buy from Target's eBay store only to return the item in hopes of earning eBucks or Ebates, that is my idea of abusing a tip that @Marionnette shared in good faith as an exit. Besides, Marionnette told us eBay claws back the eBucks on such returns and Ebates might as well, leaving you with the same $600 in cash.

Can anyone explain to me the Best Buy gift card situation? I have scrolled back several weeks, but am not seeing a concrete explanation of how it works. Google doesn't pop up anything either.

Depending on your particular store's policies and employees, BB generally allows you to use BB GCs to buy non-open loop third-party GCs. It's a dollar-for-dollar exchange, except if you buy online you could earn 1% Ebates and if you have Shopkicks you can earn 2 kicks/$1 in store. You don't earn BB reward points when you pay with a GC.

This is besides the point because, again, to my knowledge, Target doesn't sell BB GCs, and if you buy an eBay GC you can't use it to buy BB GCs from PPDG.

Either that or buy Disney plus a little of this a little of that.

As @mfly already mentioned, you can't use Target GCs to purchase Visa or other open loop prepaid cards.

I didn't think they did. I was hoping Meijer does. I guess I was trying to think of a way to convert Target to BB gift cards, now that eBay is off the table. I'll probably just use Target straight to Disney, and then buy Best Buy at Meijer (hopefully).

MyPoints has a promotion (no exclusion of gift cards that I can tell) where if you spend $500+ at Best Buy in store, you get 3000 points, which translates to about $20 worth of gift cards. So, my thought was if I could use the gift cards that I already have, or will be buying at Meijer, I wouldn't have to double or triple up, if that makes sense. I guess we'll see.

What I find interesting about this whole sitch is these retailers sell eBay gift cards in their stores, but you can't buy gift cards to the retailers on eBay. Nice non-quid pro quo there, eh?

Since we can't use ebay gc to buy gc anymore, DH and I have decided to start redeeming our swagbucks for paypal deposits instead of ebay gc. However, we just realized this morning his account on SB is not under the same email as his PP account. They will only make a deposit into the PP account under the same email address as your SB account. I'm going to try to go back and search through this thread when I have a little more time later, but I was wondering if anyone might be able to offer some advice. Does this mean we will have to create a new PP account for him using this other email address? If so, is having multiple accounts a problem. I know multiple PP accounts has been discussed here. I was hoping there would just be a way to add the other email address to his PP account instead of creating a whole new one. Can you tell I really don't use my PP account very much?? LOL.
You can add multiple emails to PP. I have 3 emails attached to my PP - my personal, Ebay stuff (I sell), and DHs.

Oh, @Lain, what a mess of a story! I am pretty sure, after reading all that, I will never bother trying to sell a GC to any of these third-party resellers. I had no plans to anyways but your experience seals the deal for me.
I've actually sold several cards on Cardpool, Raise and ABC GC with no issues. Problems happen, mail is delayed, etc. But as long as you have tracking and keep backup #'s you should be fine. But another option is to just sell the number (do not have to mail the cards) which some places allow. I did this a couple of weeks ago with a LL Bean card on ABC GC.

I am not happy this happened to you :( . You might want to also investigate other ways to generate free points. I use M+ on my phone, and there are several other apps, like Feature Points and AppGift.

I looked on MrRebate.com and Cashbackholic.com and checked several places that i know that sell Disney gc. All of them exclude gift cards from their rebate.

:offtopic: Did you notice the TSA Pre-Check or Global Entry reimbursement perk? It was kind of buried in the details but they will reimburse you for 1 person's TSA or Global Entry application fee once every 4 years from what I saw on the website. (I was just looking at that card yesterday, alas I have no big trips planned at this point (already paid off my current trip) but it did look like a deal if used properly.)

I just applied and was approved for this card last night. I went to bed smiling thinking about where 100,000 points will take me . . . ! Gonna wait about a month and then have DH apply. :yay: The trick will be how to meet the $4K spend in 3 months for each of us (I hate to spend on groceries since I'd be giving up my 3% I'm getting with another card). Gotta think on that one. Awesome card!
