You're crazy! No I'm Dopey! 2017 WDW Marathon Weekend PTR Updated 12/31

Hey, that's exciting stuff with college starting soon. New chapters of life are special. Enjoy it. And very cool about your family coaching legacy and nice that you get an opportunity to assist your dad and grandpa with it.

Thanks! I got to play for my grandpa and now I am coaching with him.

Have you tried using the "Hopper" App for your flight? You can program in the date of your flight - and it warns you if the airfare drops (doesn't include Southwest though) and also tells you the predicted lowest fare for the date and flight.

Enjoy college. Some of the best times of your life will happen there!

We are booking southwest so the hopper wouldn't work.

Thanks!

Wow, you're moving into school so soon! Exciting!
I went to college pretty close to home too. It's good because if you need anything, your family is nearby, but living at school gives you a chance to have some independence that you don't get at home. Take advantage of that independence (and the responsibility that comes with it). This is a good time to learn a lot about who you are as an individual and what you are capable of.

I love that you're continuing in the family tradition of coaching - that's so awesome!

It's awesome that you're reading a marathon book. Definitely shows a commitment to the race, and hopefully you'll learn some great stuff that will help you have an awesome Dopey challenge!

Yes I am glad I'm not going to be too far away in case I need anything but will be far enough for my independence. I'm excited yet nervous.

Coaching runs deep in my family so I'll likely continue to coach in the future.

I'm really enjoying the book. It gives me a lot of insight about what I should do during training and during the race and helps with my expectations.

UGH...I am such a bad DISer! So excited for you...another trip plus Dopey! WAHOO

Weekly update #2

Well the time has finally come... I am officially a college student and am moved in at Marquette University. Yesterday was move in day for freshman so I am situated for now. We had our freshman convocation last night and several other orientation events today and tomorrow.

Due to all of this college stuff going on I haven't run since Saturday which isn't great. Saturday was a 7 miler that went very well I think I hope to run again a bit this weekend after all these events are done.

My dorm is small and hot. Even with three fans it doesn't help much. We have an awesome view of Milwaukee though.

Food is good we have several options here at Marquette which is an added bonus. One thing for those who aren't familiar with Wisconsin is we have some of the best food options there is in my opinion. Mainly burgers, sausages, fish fries, and custard are our specialities. Oh yeah and there is beer, we wouldn't be Milwaukee without our famed beers.

Not much Disney planning going on right now. Still no Star Wars dessert party yet as they haven't opened for January.

We have 68 days until FP+ day...
We have 129 days until we arrive
We have 132 days until I run a 5K
We have 133 days until I run a 10K
We have 134 days until I run a Half Marathon
We have 135 days until I run a Full Marathon and finish Dopey!

Enjoy the life experience, don't spend all your time on here! (But don't start enjoying too much of that Milwaukee beer - that's the way to get in trouble. Well, that and you are underage.)

I'll try my best.

Oh and yes I know.

Enjoy college life :)
I think dorms are somehow always hot. The dorm I lived in for most of my college career was so hot that I had my air conditioning on when it was snowing outside (I don't think I would have been able to survive without the air conditioner). An always hot dorm is definitely a bit uncomfortable ... but hopefully you'll find a way to survive!

Well we have three fans going but its still not great. I am sure it would be worse without them.

Hey, just wanted to pop over here and say congrats on starting your college career! That is such an exciting time. Good luck getting settled in and finding time to run among everything else going on. :)

I haven't followed along on this PTR, I can barely keep up on my own stuff, but I wanted to send along my best wishes for a fun and successful school year for you!

Congrats on this milestone.

:jumping1:

So exciting that you are officially a college student! I'd have a tough time with a hot dorm room, but hopefully the temps will start to cool off soon and get more comfortable for you. Love your countdown days. We are getting closer and closer!!

Thanks! It's tough getting used to but I think I'm finally getting into a grove.

It will be here before we know it!

Weekly Update 3!

Well another week is gone and we are another week closer to Marathon Weekend!

I am
officially finished with my first week of classes. Not a ton of homework but a good amount. I am sure things will get crazier as the semester goes on.

On the running front I was able to get 3 runs in so far this week with hopefully a longer run tomorrow. I haven't planned out a good route around campus yet so I have only ran on the treadmill on campus.

I am home this weekend so hopefully that should help get my long run in.

I hope everyone has a great extended weekend being that
Monday is labor day. Tomorrow is the first official Saturday of College football and I can't wait to watch the Badgers take on LSU at Lambeau field. I will be at the game working. It should be a fun long tiring day.

Countdown

FP Day- 60 days away
WDW arrival- 121 days away
5K- 124 days away
10K- 125 days away
Half Marathon- 126 days away
Full Marathon and Dopey Finish- 127 days away
