Hello everyone- just wondering when the Christmas decorations go up in the Universal hotels? Will they be up by Thanksgiving? Thanks!

I think it was maybe dec 3 last year when decorations were in place

I could be off with that date but it is early December for it

I think Universal is missing the boat on this one vs Disney. Disney starts the Christmas decorating the first week of November and has the Mickey Christmas party going on right away. Everything is done before Thanksgiving. Not sure why Universal doesn't follow suit.

@PantherPete

It's good they don't follow Disney.

Thanksgiving is a separate holiday and after that comes Christmas. Just like the stores are doing, putting up holiday stuff way to early.

I totally agree. Christmas decorations shouldn't be put up until December.

Absolutely agree with both of you.......

I adore Christmas, but everything is out far too early in most places...........

As of a few days ago some of our shops now have Christmas Cards on shelves and one of our larger stores called Selfridges have already opened their large Christmas area instore.........its starting already.

Yes, but Thanksgiving is much of a decorating holiday. There is something special about Disney decorated for Christmas and I'm glad that they start early to give more people the chance to enjoy it. Although I don't think I'll ever forgive them for getting rid of the Osbourne lights.

I have to say that I think the same as Bluer, Damo and schumigirl on the holiday decorations

I enjoy Christmas holiday for the reason we celebrate it

The meaning of it is probably different for me than others I guess

When decorations go up early, it becomes more of scenery for me than the reason

I have always stayed away from the motherland in November due to the decorations being everywhere there
Just not my thing

When I lived in Chicago area, decorations , holiday cards, ribbons/ cards/ wrapping paper would go on sale end of September

Weird seeing Christmas items on sale near the Halloween items in mid October
Now I live in the South, will find out when the merch will start here

I'm good with the park holding off on the Christmas decorations until early December
But there is no right or wrong for this topic as we all have different thoughts on it
Exchange of opinions is interesting

I LOVE Christmas!!!! I have to admit I start listening to Christmas music 1-2 months prior to December!!!!! So I am disappointed I will not see any decorations at our Universal resort or parks. I think the holiday atmosphere truly puts you in the holiday mood (even if it is only Thanksgiving)... but we will also be going to Disney - so they'll make up for that!!
