RUMOR - Jungle Book Alive to close Sept 5th (Mel730 has an update on pg. 5)

I personally will be very surprised if the show opens Labor Day. I myself see October as more practical.
Interesting. I know a lot of sources have been saying September is the target. I don't care as long as its open before January.

September is the target but I personally don't think they will be able to achieve that goal. I also think the show will open unannounced for previews before they announce an official opening.

WDWNT likes to "steal" news sometimes. Posters on wdwmagic have been saying September is the target time for months now. They do hope to have it by Labor day but that is no guarantee. They want it up as soon as possible but they don't want to rush it either.

If it is true, I know what park I'll be avoiding on Labor Day. Everybody and their mama will probably be there.

Jeff Lange, Big Fat Panda and the rest of the insiders show up for Meet and Greets with Duffy the Bear in a pirate costume, so picture what this will look like. It's going to be "the River of heads".

My worry right now is what exactly the modifications they made are.

I beg to differ. I understood quite fine, and I am a "general reader". I guess if you did understand, then perhaps best to not make an issue of it. Let us "general readers" speak for ourselves, better to not make assumptions about our reading comprehension.

Not to drag on this banter, but I was a little confused at first read, so I was appreciative to have some clarification from @HopperFan

We will be there Sep 6-13, but from the little I have seen, it does not really impress me as something I would go out of my way to see if it's up and running. Then again, I was never impressed with Fantasmic either.

I wouldn't compare this to fantasmic. Maybe more world of color like with less fountains or illuminations without the pyro. It's a completely different show on its own.

I am SO looking forward to RoL. And unpopular opinion but-- I actually really enjoyed Jungle Book: Alive with Magic! It's true that it was somewhat slapped together, but I think Disney showed immense grace under pressure by producing a quality show on a tight timeline so they could anchor their nighttime activities.

One thing I loved about JB:AwM was the audience participation component. It would be cool to have something like that incorporated with RoL!

"These are the laws of the jungle...
As old and as true as the sky..."

I'm definitely still excited for ROL, but less so than before. There's this feeling that I have to be cautious as to not be disappointed. I know it's a necessary evil, but it's really a bummer they have to test during the day. Kind of like seeing the show with it's pants down.

I'm excited for Rivers of Light, but I'm more excited to just be able to be at AK in the night. We're arriving September 3rd and leaving the 17th. We'll be in AK on the 4th so we'll have at least 1 late night AK day. We'll also be in AK on the 9th and the 14th so I'm really hoping that RoL gets rolled out and/or the hours in September get extended.

Yeah, I'm excited too.

The park looks beautiful at night, I just wish Dinosaur wasn't refurbing until October. That and Restaurantosaurus are the only real good things in Dinoland.

I know. Dinosaur being down really sucks. It's probably one of our top 3 favorite rides and it was annoying that they announced the closure after we already booked the vacation. We typically ride it 3 to 5 times on an AK day, so it's going to be a huge chunk of entertainment that is removed for us.
