Considering HKDL... June or Feb?

We are looking at a long weekend in HK and DL is on the must do list but right now the only 'doable' time frame for us is either late June (hot, humid, did we say hot?) or February (Chinese New Year?).

I, personally, would prefer to do June because we could do a day and a half at the park and so we can see any of the special 10th Anniversary things (DisneySea has so many special anniversary things going on now so it's really neat to see), but I am wondering if the weather will be a real downer - having done WDW in summer I know how much the heat can sap from you. That said, February is also an option but I've seen where crowds are much higher because of Chinese New Year and we would only be able to do one day.

Any suggestions or advice? Is June worth it despite the heat? TIA!

ETA: Also, DD turns 3 in July so that is another factor in our consideration as that would add some additional cost.

Did you already make your decision? If you can handle the heat and humidity in June, I would say to go then. Mainly because everyone is still in school (except maybe the international schools), so the crowds won't be too terrible yet. I went once during Chinese New Year.... NEVER AGAIN! It was ridiculous how crowded it was. Not only because of how many locals were there, but it was flooded with mainlanders as well. February is definitely better in terms of weather, but try to go not during the 2 weeks of CNY.

Thanks so much for your info! After considering the options, I think we're going to shoot for late November - it will be a quicker trip due to time constraints but with June so hot and humid and February being as busy as you say, I think it's a good compromise. Thanks for the info!!!!

Late November is a good choice... The Christmas decoration is usually up by then (but the festival shows may not be ready yet) and the crowd is low during those time...

I think you'll find going forward that CNY is not so ridiculously crowded at HKDL. A lot of the mainlanders will now head to SDL instead (you'll still get local crowds at HKDL though, so it will hardly be a quiet time). November is a great time to go if you can make that work!

Awesome information! I think we're going to shoot for November but I have friends who can only go in the late Jan/early Feb time frame and they were anxious... I didn't even think about the pull SDL would have for the first CNY. It would be great if holiday decorations are up in Nov - add a little extra fun to the trip! Thanks for the info!!!
