Discount Room

I would like to know how vacationers are getting the nice rewards of inexpensive rooms at UO. The prices I am viewing are close to $300 a night. Is there a TA that is highly remarkable that someone would use? I am from the Cleveland OH area. I would like to stay at HRH next year. What should be an ideal price to pay for a standard room at this hotel?? Would anyone care to share their prices with me? Thank you everyone for your input.

What dates do you have in mind?

For October this year, 2-14
I am paying $181.xx plus tax per night
For fri and sat it goes up $10 for those nights

Year before got the room same dates also for rpr at $173 plus tax sun -thurs
I used the smsm general public discount rate
The discount varies at day 3 and day 5 and 7 nights booked
It is not valid for one or two night stays

In January second week i got rpr around $173 + tax a night with the AP

Military discounts also available

The above rates were for standard rooms

Sometimes rpr rates are higher than the other two deluxe hotels

If you book months out from your dates, room prices are at their lowest

For oct bookings this year I have read online that the rates were low up thru end of March
May was when I started reading on the dis about the higher room rates

Take a look at the date rate thread to get an idea if costs and dates of those already booked

And take a look at the 2015 date rate thread to see how much or less rates for 2016

Just like Mac said.

The prices can be all over the board. You can be under $200 and upwards or $400 for basic rooms.

Next week I'm paying and average of $258 a night for 9 days and that's because of July 4 and summer.

We went over Xmas this past year and normally it's over $400 per night. But ended up getting a great deal just over $200 a night.

If you are set on your dates book. That way your rate is locked in. Then keep checking here and on universal website for new rates. Check all the time.

We just saved $60 next week as some rooms were released from 3rd parties. Another member here was able to save over $500 this weekend with the release of rates. Sometimes you have to be quick.

I never heard of smsm rates?? I want to go in August of next year looking after the 15. Is it cheaper to buy rooms n tickets separate?

Smsm
stay more save more

It is a general code that anyone can use when they book a 3 night or longer stay onsite

These rates will be released in the fall for 2017 dates

Yes I find it is better not to book a package
( room + tickets)

I find that I never find as good of deals at HRH as RPR or PBH. Maybe I'm just not good at finding them. It also has less rooms than the others doesn't it?

An annual pass is a great way to save money on Hotels. Only the person booking needs to have an annual pass for the discount. If you're going to an extended say SMSM can save you lots. I also always price check at least weekly prior to my trip and then in the few weeks prior I check daily. They will happily adjust your rate if it's available. APH rates don't come out until 3-6 months prior though.

I have the preferred AP bought it in 2002 and have renewed it each year

Seems UO has cut back on the deals for AP rooms for the time period I go

The ap room rates are less than the smsm I get in October

End up booking smsm and not AP for rooms
Big difference in their discount levels

Okay, but you go for SEVERAL days and get the maximum SMSM rate. A lot of people only go for 2-3 days (like me) and the SMSM rate isn't near as great. It's never been better for my prices than my AP. I'm not sure how many days they're going as they didn't state, just offering a different route. Always best to check all bases.
I've gotten as low as $187 at AP discount which I consider a very good rate.

My short stays are my issue
AP rates aren't that great
And when they release a lower room cost with the AP, they go quickly

I am on the computer a lot but never at the times when they release the best ap rates

weird. Maybe I need to start booking your room for you ;) im a rate wizard

I travel but once a year currently but after I am done with school in December I plan on a few Disney/UO vacations. I will continue to watch for prices especially for the fall. I will also contact a travel agent in hopes of a good deal, keeping my fingers and toes crossed!!!

My experience is like yours. We usually only stay 3 nights so the SMSM rates aren't that great. I have been checking daily and just managed to lower my APH rate in Sept by $30 a night as they released more std rooms. The SMSM rate is $225, the APH rate is $175 avg per night. Still watching for November, as I know you are.

I've been keeping an eye on some Sept ones for my friends. They're going HHN night weekends though... don't think it'll be that great savings. If so they'll have to find them last mninute.
Anyways, I have been doing some research on November rates. The last two years they've been released Mid-July or before July 20.... So soon! Not as soon as I'd like, but within the next month. If I find them I'll definitely tag you over on the hotels board.

We're going the first weekend of HHN. Sept 17-20; I found my lowest APH rate just this morning. Had a pool view room at RPR, then a std just opened up today.

ahhh! $199!!! They said they can't book until next week because they both had big bills this week. Yikes!!! I feel like I should book it for them but then that would just be messy.

Dear OP-- This is how you get low rates! Stick around here and find a buddy who has your same dates. The rate I'm referencing above is an APH rate.

When it comes to AP rates you really have to keep checking. We got that same weekend (Sept 16 - 19) at Portofino for $229 a night. I'm happy with that rate, but I'll keep checking to see if I can score a better price.

I booked back in February March time and the rate I got was $240.27 a night for 4 nights. Now I am happy with that price, I am looking everyday to see if it comes down with AP but all I see now is SMSM rate at $309.00 and the AP rate $625.00 so I am happy I booked when I did. Our dates are 10/23 - 10/27
