Comparing DLR rides vs. WDW rudes

LOL! GatorChris. Matterhorn is a very old coaster. I don't think anyone should ever, ever compare it to something as new as Expedition Everest.

I had forgotten about Primeval Whirl. Given that, I would say that Goofy's Sky School is a cross between Barnstormer and Primeval Whirl. The track has sharp turns and drops like Primeval Whirl and Barnstormer, but the cars do not spin (think like Mad Tea Cups) around like they do for Primeval Whirl. Gadget's Go Coaster seemed a lot tamer to me than Barnstormer. Still adding Primeval Whirl is a good point of reference. Thanks!

Goofy's Sky School is a wild-mouse coaster. I think both Barnstormer and Gadget's are both basic "kiddy" coasters. I've been on Gadget's a ton with our kids, but I didn't ride Barnstormer as our one visit to WDW was before kids. Primeval Whirl spins and I just don't like it. Goofy's Sky School I can handle, but it isn't my favorite. I do like it a LOT better with the new theme.

Goofys Sky school actually used to be called mulhulland madness back when DCA was still more California themed and less Pixar themed. Same track, same cars just new paint to make it goofy. It was supposed to be like the twists and turns of driving down mulhulland drive. Personally I think Mulhulland is nicer to drive and has less whiplash than the ride.

I knew that it was Mulhulland Madness. I think it's slightly better as a Goofy ride. The theme makes it more tolerable since I love Goofy. It's still a low thrill but jerky experience that isn't a must do for me.

I agree. Goofy does make it slightly better themed. I still don't like the jerkiness though either way. I didn't know if you or figment_jii knew or not.

I disagree with the OP on a couple of the rides.

I don't think you can compare Space Mountains, because of the theming, it's almost as if they are two completely different rides. DLR has the better coaster, I think, and I love it. But WDW reminds me so much more of the "space race" and America's race for the Moon and all the potential that it held. Both are great, but for completely different reasons.

Soarin' at DCA makes much more sense. I grew up reading about the early pioneers of aviation, and California was a center of aviation innovation. It's queue (at least with the old film) and the revamped DCA theming was JUST RIGHT. I felt like I was observing The Right Stuff. Don't know how either theater will shake out with the new film.

And...I actually prefer DLR's HM and SM. It fits with the New Orleans Square, which I think is the best land in any of the American parks, and I like the audio-animatronics at the DLR Splash better. The ride makes more sense, thematically.
