How easy is it to do Sea World if staying at Disney?

Hi! We will be in Disney World from 11/25-12/5!! We were originally not going to arrive until 11/26 but have decided to fly in late on 11/25 due to flights being so much cheaper that day. So, we were not originally planning on doing a park on 11/26 since it was a travel day but now since we will be in the night before we have that whole day. I'm considering doing Sea World that day because it will probably be the last time we would get to see the whale shows since they'll be ending. Will the shows even still be running at that time? I know it would be way cheaper to just add a day to our Disney tickets but the parks will probably be pretty crowded that day and we will have plenty of days there so thinking about doing Sea World instead. But we won't have a car so how easy is it to get to Sea World from Disney property? What are my options and how expensive would it be? Thanks for the help!

You should be able to check their website for show schedules. As far as transportation, I used Uber to go from the Sea World area to Disney Springs last month, and it was about $9.50 for three of us one way. I know prices vary, but that might give you a decent estimate...

Ok thanks! Would they have show schedules already this far out? And I wasn't sure if Uber was allowed to operate on Disney property so that's helpful to know and seems very reasonable in cost.

They are not so great at getting their schedules out early, so I'm guessing you won't see show times until a month or two out. You can try to call them to find out which shows will be available. The Christmas shows are nice.

You raised a good point. I am not sure if Uber will be allowed to actually go to your resort. Uber dropped us off near the Cirque du Soleil theater in Disney Springs, basically at the curb adjacent to the parking area. Again, you might want to call the resort and just ask. I guess worst case you could take Disney transportation to Disney Springs, then hopefully Uber from there to Sea World...

Thanks for all your help! I think we'll just wait until we get a little closer to decide and then I can call and figure out transportation if we decide to do it.

One Ocean (Killer Whale show) will still be running in November. The new show will still be a 'show'- the whales will still do most of the behaviors you are used to seeing. What you will loose will be the theatrical storyline and music. You may also loose some of the more silly behaviors like nodding yes or no or wiggling their tongues.

Yes, as of now, Uber & Lyft operate freely at WDW, picking up & dropping off at all resorts & parks (except MK.) There have been a few scattered reports of an overzealous security cm not allowing a driver into a resort to pick up, but they have been very few and far between.

If you'll be traveling with kids, remember that FL law requires car seats or boosters for children under 6. You can request an Uber with a car seat for an additional $10. If you have a child 4-5yo, you can get a Bubble Bum and store it in a locker at SW.

There's also a public bus that runs from TTC and DS to SeaWorld, for $2 each way. Some people on the Transportation board have used it and said it worked well. IIRC, it runs every 30 minutes. If you're interested, go to golynx.com and look for Link #50. No car seats required on the bus, of course.

This is really helpful, thank you! I was wondering if you could get car seats in an Uber, I know it's only available in certain cities. Can I ask what a Bubble Bum is? My daughter will be 5 when we are there and she still rides in her normal 5 point harness car seat and my son will be 2 so he will definitely need a car seat. Do they even have Ubers with 2? The bus may be a good option though so I'll definitely check that link out. Thanks again!

Good to know, thank you!

BubbleBum (<<---Click here) is an inflatable booster seat for kids 4 and older. It's becoming very popular for vacationers. They sell for $30 at Walmart, Target, and Toys R Us. I haven't seen one in action, but reportedly they fit into a backpack when uninflated, and should fit quite easily into a theme park all-day locker.

I don't think you'll find an Uber with 2 car seats, and there's no way to request one. If you don't want to use the bus, I'd recommend buying one BubbleBum and then getting either Uber or a taxi with a car seat.

We rented a car for two days ($98). Picked up car at Disney car care center (they picked us up at Disney resort) and returned at a hotel within walking distance to Disney Springs. It was very convenient and would do this again. Hope this helps:-)
