2016 Gay Days at WDW - 26th Anniversary!

No seriously...what to pack. I need to know what the weather conditions will be like definitively. Should jeans even be something I'm contemplating? :worried:
I think I took a pair a jeans once, several years ago. I am always amazed to see a few guys in jeans. Hmm, maybe they are from Brazil or some place much hotter than Florida. "Hot and humid" is my definition of the weather in June in Orlando. I will check the extended forecast just before I leave, but I would be willing to bet it will still be, "hot and humid." :p

Short shorts are always welcomed :P

Oh, yeah! LOL! Especially since there are no "clothing optional" gay resorts in Orlando. Maybe that's why I always enjoy heading down to Ft. Lauderdale/Wilton Manors. Btw, as of the time of this posting, only 236 hours to go! And, as of right now, typical Orlando weather forecast: Sunny, hot, humid, with a daily chance of showers and/or thunderstorms. Looks like high temps should be around 90 every day.

I want to go to Gay Days so badly, but the sun and the heat are not my friends. :( Maybe some year I'll suck it up, but this is not that year.

I'm not a huge fan of the heat but I like going into all the stores to beat the heat. Longer attractions, like hall of presidents, are also great to get out of the sun!

Hmmm. Maybe I can talk my friend into coming with me next year. We're already going in September, or I would suggest we try for this year.

May 30th through June 4th for 2017. Yeah, it is always hot. But, you can pace yourself to deal with the heat. Like Princent said, it is always a refresher to head for some of the indoor attractions, shops, etc. And, the pool parties at the hotels are always a good way to beat the heat, too.

The dates for 2017 are already available?! That makes everything much easier for me to actually plan ahead moneywise. :D

Is it time yet? Is it time yet? LOL! Only 8 days (192 hours) until our plane lands in Orlando. Oh, wait. We're flying on Allegiant. Better make that 194 hours. LOL! Only 200 hours to go until the monorail crawl!!!

Hey y'all! I don't have the Facebook, so I wanted to see if we're still planning to meet up for the Jungle Cruise on Sat @ 4:30pm?

Would folks enjoy wearing a nautical hat to help find one another and be in festive theme for the cruise? :sail:Could be fun! I already planned to bring a nautical hat for some fun at Trader Sams.

We'll be in AK and DHS for the gay days there too! On Thurs, we're doing the 11am Lion King Show, and the 9pm Jungle Book show (Dining package section). We plan to arrive as soon as doors open for the JB 9pm, so there'll be time to socialize while waiting.

Big hugs,

Hi everyone. While not gay, my wife and I will be there with our almost 3 year old son for his 1st trip. We had no clue that Gay Days was going on during our trip, but we're still stoked to be going regardless. The trip is more about him meeting Mickey and company and cashing in on the Disney freebies before he turns 3. Considering my wife has a gay step-brother, I think we'll live if we see some hand holding. Anyway, everyone have a safe and fun trip. And if you see a dad chasing a Star Wars dressed toddler through the parks threatening to wear his tail out if he doesn't start listening, say hi. :D

Yes, we can definitely plan for a Big Gay DISCruise at 4:30pm at the Jungle River Cruise ride on Saturday at the MK. That would be fun! Not sure that I have a "nautical hat," but somehow I already have a picture in my mind of a group in red and green shirts with rainbow leis and a woman in a nautical hat. Hehehe. If I ever need a consultant for a themed party, I get the impression that you are the perfect "go to" source. :)

Fantastic! I hope you all will have a really fun time!

hehe, yes. I do love a good festive theme. :jester:

No worries on the hat. DH and I are definitely planning on the cruise, and we'll invite the rest of our reunion group. We only plan one reunion event per day with all the families, and on Sat it's lunch. After lunch DH and I are going to see the Fantasy parade (my mind slips to Key West, I want to say Fantasy Fest parade....) after parade, we'll head over to Jungle cruise area.
:boat:

After Jungle Cruise, we thought we'd pop over to the Skipper's Canteen since it's close by. Hopefully there'll still be some overly exotic foods to try out.

Remember the fun times at Mannequins, 8 Trax, Comedy Warehouse, etc. at Pleasure Island at Downtown Disney? Well, they are not saying how many or if any of the former comics from the old Comedy Warehouse will be there; but, the PHouse in Orlando is hosting an improve comedy show on Thursday night, June 2nd, as part of their "PI at PH" night. A couple of years ago, I attended and was quite surprised that all of the performers used to be at the CW at PI. Remember how PI did a New Years celebration every night at midnight? PHouse does something similar at midnight on that Thursday night with a countdown and some fireworks. I miss the old PI. It was a lot of fun.

Hey Dano4,

Ok, I know I posted this 3 weeks ago, but just want to remind everyone about Dano's Monorail Crawl in just 1 week from tonight. And not that you loyal DisBoard followers need this reminder, but just in case there are any newbies, below is summary of the Crawl:

Itinerary for the June 01, 2016 Monorail Crawl
  • We'll begin at 7:00 PM with an amazing view of Bay Lake at Outer Rim located at Disney's Contemporary Resort.
  • After a beverage or two, around 8:15 PM, we'll board the monorail with some new friends at Disney's Contemporary Resort and travel to Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. There, we'll meet at Trader Sam's Grog Grotto and / or Trader Sam's Tiki Terrace (the grotto might reach capacity).
  • Around 10:00 PM, we'll board the monorail at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort and travel to Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. There, we'll meet at Mizner's Lounge for our night caps.

And, don't forget that the "pre-party" starts at 5:30pm at Crockett's Tavern at Ft. Wilderness!

Hey y'all. While at PartyCity to finalize the balloon arches for Pride, I found this really festive flower lei skirt. I don't know how to post pictures, so a picture of it is found here: http://www.partycity.com/product/rainbow+flower+lei+hula+skirt.do

The New Orleanian in me doesn't know such things as "too-much" festive attire, so I'm not sure if wearing a red reunion shirt plus a flower lei skirt at MK on Saturday would be okay. Would this be "too much" rainbow at MK? Just right? Is MK Saturday like a Pride day with lots of rainbow/glitter/sparkle?
