We were scheduled to leave tomorrow. But, today we made the decision to cancel. Hubs is having some health issues that we need to have checked out in a timely manner. It sure does stink cancelling a trip we have been counting down for months and months. But hopefully we get answers, and he starts to feel better with some intervention. And then we can plan a new trip! Scary when health things come up and hit you like a ton of bricks.

Oh, sorry to hear this. I hope it's nothing serious and that you can get that trip rescheduled again. Yes, health issues are the worst. Very stressful.

Thank you! He is very anemic and we're thinking it could be caused by an ulcer. So we're going in tomorrow morning to meet with the GP to get a referral for a Gastro to have him checked out.

Good luck. If he's very anemic he would not have felt that well on the trip. I had anemia once and I had an upper endoscopy. I did not have an ulcer but had bleeding in my stomach due to taking too much ibuprofen.

He's very nervous- we all are. :\

So sorry to hear that! I hope your husband feels better soon so that you can reschedule your holiday!

So sorry to hear this news -- hope that the doctors have good news and good answers.

I am so sorry to hear that your DH is sick and you have to cancel. DW will always be there and you will enjoy it better once your DH feels better. I will be saying a prayer for you both this morning.

Hi everyone. Just an update! After TONS of tests and 5 days in the hospital (including 3 bags of IV iron and a transfusion), hubs was diagnosed with inflammation from Crohn's causing his anemia. He's eating a modified Autoimmune Protocol diet and now taking Pentasa to bring down his inflammation, and on heavy duty iron pills (and eating LOTS of liver) to bring up his hemoglobin levels. He seems to be on the mend- we see the GI doctor again on Tuesday to see what type of Crohn's (according to the doctor, he's hoping and thinking that it is just an 'annoyance' kind that he should have no trouble managing, but we'll find out for sure then). Thanks again for all of your thoughts- we are actually talking right now about rescheduling our trip for September. Here's hoping that we can rent DVC points for the Boardwalk or Beach Club before Food and Wine starts!!! ((fingers crossed for availability!!)

Thanks for the update. I am so glad that your DH will be fine. I have an uncle and cousin that live and do well with Crohn's. I am praying you get everything that you want in DW. Let us know.

Hi there! I'm sorry to hear this. I have severe Crohn's disease and have been diagnosed for over 13 years. It's a struggle and I've taken every drug they could prescribe. I've had my large intestine removed back in 2012 but to no relief. I'd be happy to answer any questions you guys might have. I'm hoping he doesn't have to go through anything I have as I wouldn't wish it on anyone!! Feel free to send me a pm if you'd like and good luck :)
