Is there a bridge to walk from OKW to Disney Springs? If there is what section of the villas would be the closest to the bridge?

You can walk to Disney Springs. There is a path that goes along the golf course. I think the bridge is near building 55.

Is the walk from SSR to DS shorter than the walk from OKW or are they about the same? My teens love DS and we usually stay in a one bedroom at SSR which means they share the pullout couch. OKW one bedroom offers a couch and the fold out chair which would allow them to have separate beds. I'm just wondering if there is much of a time difference getting to DS from the two resorts.

The OKW villa is nice and spacious. It is a nice place to stay. But I think SSR is closer to Disney Springs than OKW. There is a boat and a bus you can take, though.

SSR is much closer, walking wise.

How late does the boat run in the evenings? Any estimate of how long the walk would take from OKW?

You can't walk at night from DS to OKW or vice versa. The path is not lit. The path starts near the South Point pool and is just under a mile long.

I have stayed at both OKW and SSR

Walking from SSR to DS is about 5-10 mins depending on how fast you walk and where your room is and you walk right to the bus stops at DS. Walking from OKW to DS is a little tricky. You can walk all the way to DS on one side of the river but you have to walk through the golf course. You can also follow the path over to SSR and take the boat right in front of the golf course offices if you like too. The pathway from OKW to DS has lights only about part of the way...maybe 60% is lighted. I haven't walked it at night but it takes about 30 min in the day but you have to watch for golf carts as they use some of the trail as well.

The boat service from OKW is very nice too. If you are staying at SSR I would recommend walking as the wait for the boat can be long at the end of the night. The walk way is lighted along the highway and the entrance to SSR is lighted as well. It is nice walk at the end of night.

I wouldn't take the bus from SSR to DS. The first time we were at SSR we took the bus and it was like a 15 min wait at the stop and then multiple stops for a 2 min bus ride that we could have walked in 5 mins from our room. OKW I would take the boat usual the DS bus is waiting because boat docks in the middle DS and the bus stop is near the Christmas Shop.

Any of the boat captains can tell you when their last boat departs DS but I think it was an hour before or after DS closed but if there is a line up of people waiting they won't stop service. Although they may close the station at the back of the line. If you talk to crew there and people are waiting they will usually let you through at the back of line after they closed the station.

You don't really walk through the golf course. You must stay off the golf course at all times, including the cart path.

Yes don't go on the Golf Green's. The golfers can get a little angry about that if they are teeing off. What I was saying was stay on the walking paths through the course and watch out of carts as they have right of way. Unfortunately the walking path does turn into a shared walking path and cart path through the golf course.

From OKW there are a few paths you can take but I took the one along the river as it was a lot nicer. It will put you near the House of Blues or at the third bridge you can go to SSR as well and then you just walk through SSR to the other side of DS or you can take the boat from SSR. At the third bridge you will see the ferry docks of SSR and the golf offices across the river.

You are allowed on these path but it can be bit of walk as I said about 30 mins to DS so I would bring a bottle of water or a drink if is hot. It is a very nice walk along the river.

You can also rent a bike at OKW and ride to Downtown Disney. You'll need to park your bike in a bike rack as soon as you get there (they provide a lock with the rental). We did this a couple weeks ago, and had a great ride exploring OKW and SS along the way. The bikes at OKW are fairly new. They don't have baskets, so if you're going to shop at Disney Springs, consider bringing a backpack.

OKW to DS is a very long walk. It would be much better to take the boat. Whereas, if you are in the Congress park section of SSR it's a short 5 minute walk now that there is a bridge, and much quicker than bus or boat. Make a bed on the floor with the two couch cushions.
