Meet & Greet Tips and Anxiety?

Hello everyone! I'm going to Disney World in less than two weeks and I'd really like to do a meet and greet with Baymax. I was disappointed to hear that he wasn't available to meet when I was last there back in September, but after doing some research I am happy to discover that he's back. I have moderate anxiety, particularly concerning face-to-face social interactions. I tend to over-think what I want to say and end up freezing up in the middle of talking, which can be quite frustrating. Does anyone have any tips on how to break the ice, so to speak? If anyone has any advice on how to interact with characters, I'd love to hear it. Thank you so much for taking the time to read my post :)

Would you still freeze up if you were to communicate non-verbally, i.e. in gestures? Since Baymax isn't a face character, it's easier to get by with non-verbals than it is with a face character. Hold your arms out wide to ask for a hug. Clasp your hands over your heart to signal that you love him. Those sorts of gestures are well-recognized and the characters will respond to them.

For characters, you don't really have to talk to them if you don't want to.. The typical "script" is you walk over to them, hand them an autograph book or say "Hi Baymax! Would you sign my autograph book?", they sign it, then you take a picture, say "Thanks, Baymax" or just wave goodbye and then leave.

Remember for you this is one of only a few interactions, but for them it is one of many. If you don't want to talk that is okay with them.

here is a great youtube video from someone that was a charter attendant.

she gives 3 great tips ( some have 2 parts) but the main one was that the charters have seen it all and they just want you to have a good time.
