Which has Best view for Wishes "Wishes Dessert Party" or "Wishes Dessert Cruise"?

I'm psyched to finally be going back to WDW since my last visit was in 2012. But so much has changed!
I was perusing the dinning options for each park and I saw the "Wishes Fireworks Dessert Party" and also "Wishes Fireworks dessert cruise".

I love the idea of anything that gives us a better view for the fireworks instead of having to wrestle crowds of people with children on their shoulders- I was at Disneyland last year and tried the Fantasmic dining package which was awesome- being able to relax and eat and have a decent spot to see the show.

Which one gives a better view of the Fireworks? The Cruise or the "Party" at Tommorowland Terrace?
I like the cruise idea but Seven Seas lagoon seems like it would be kind of far away to view the fireworks- like we could "see" them but not hear the soundtrack (which is half the fun) and not be able to see the Castle very well from way out there, which would suck because it changes colors and stuff.

I haven't been to WDW in a while so I'm not so familiar with the layout to remember how close Tomorrowland Terrace is to the Castle or if that's a good viewing spot.

If anyone has experienced either (or both) of these, can you please advise?
Thanks!

Following, because we're going back this summer for our 20th Anniversary, and our first and only previous trip was in 2012, too! Hoping to view Wishes on our anniversary night, and had also thought about the dessert party. I wasn't aware of the cruise--I'll have to look into that!

I'm curious about the wishes dessert cruise as well. I've been wanting to do it for a while, and actually managed to snag a reservation for this Saturday earlier this morning. Surprise Valentine date for the wife. :)

And to the OP's concern about heading the soundtrack, I read that they pipe the music into the boat. So you should be able to hear everything.

Ok so lots of people are curious...so can someone who has done these help us out with answers? Lol

If I can remember, I'll try to take pictures/video tomorrow night from the boat.

Back from our spontaneous trip to take the Ferrytale Wishes Dessert Party Cruise! My wife really enjoyed it! So I'll give a bit of review.

Once we checked in just to the left of where you board the ferry to the Magic Kingdom, we were given a brochure that had a list of the desserts with explanations of each and the cast member gave a brief overview of the event. We were guided to a nearby holding area to wait for time to board the boat. While waiting, cast members handed out a glow necklace, and our souvenir glow cup filled with a sparkling apple cider.

As we boarded the ferry we were handed our small souvenir plate (which are very similar to the type you can buy for the Food and Wine Festival at EPCOT) and had free range of the boat and all the goodies it had to offer.

We were originally told that drinks were on the first level, while desserts were on the second. However, there were also desserts on the first level. I passed by them expecting them to also be up the stairs, but some desserts were only found down stairs. All the desserts were pretty good. We really liked the Mickey Balloon tarts. The Cinderella slipper's dessert had some chewy orange thing in the slipper that was ok, and the slipper itself is supposed to be edible but it was way too hard to attempt to eat. And I really liked the Contemporary chocolate cake. The cast members were also passing out Mickey premium bars, ice cream sandwiches, orange cream bars, and some sort of like fruit ice pop (I didn't get a good look at what it was).

Drinks were exactly what you'd expect. My only complaint was that they were split up between two tables, and all drinks weren't available at both. One table had the punch (both non-alcoholic and "vodka infused" versions. The vodka infused probably had so little alcohol it was nearly non-alcoholic), water, and a couple selections of wine. The other had beer (Bud Light or Heineken), sodas, and a couple more wines. There was also a table on one side of the boat that had coffee and teas available.

Once the boat left the dock at the TTC, it went around be the Polynesian Bungalows and onward to the MK dock where we watched the Electrical Water Pageant. We pulled away and circled the lagoon once before heading to the viewing spot.

(Side note: The was also a moment where the ferry from the MK went by right in front of us while the show was going on. It was a little distracting, but it was gone quickly enough and it only happened once)

Now for the important stuff...

The music was indeed piped into the boat. However, at certain quiet moments of the show it was a tad difficult to hear (especially with a rude loud family behind us. Seriously, this older guy would loudly yell "Wow!! Beautiful!" after every single firework went off...). We were about in the middle of the lagoon. The castle was a little small, but I don't think it really detracted from the show much. No, you couldn't really see what was being projected onto the castle, but the show was still good and you can still make out the castle. It is still a magnificent view that not many get to see. The fireworks are clearly the main focus here. I loved the reflection of the fireworks off the water and there was one part where a single white firework arced over the castle and it was just like I was watching that little intro to a Disney movie where the shooting star goes over the castle.

(Sorry for some blurry pics)

My final verdict:

Was it worth it? Was the experience one that I enjoyed and believe it should be experienced? Absolutely. Was the experience worth the $99/person price tag? That I'm not fully convinced of, however. Desserts were ok, but not great. Drinks were a bit limited in my opinion. The view was amazing and fireworks awe inspiring. Despite not being to clearly see the castle projections, it was a spectacular view that we would not normally get to see.

If you want to get the experience of fireworks from the lagoon, and you don't care about the desserts, the option of getting a group together to rent one of the other private boats that will take you out would probably be a good alternative.

On our last trip we did the dessert party at Tomorrowland terrace and we also did the pirate and pals cruise that leaves from the contemporary. The pirate cruise was an all you can eat dessert party where you got to meet captain hook and mr. Smee. Then you got on the boats, they took you out into the lagoon where you first watched the water pageant and then to about the same spot the previous post showed pics of. They piped music onto the boat and it was amazing! The terrace dessert party was also an all you can eat buffet. You are assigned to tables. Everyone see.s to get up and jockey for position along the railings to watch the fireworks. Tink literally flies right over your head. The view was incredible! If I was to pick one I would prob say the terrace just because you are so close with an unobstructed view and feel like you are right in the middle of it. Hth!!
